All is well. Not a peep out of him today amazingly enough. I think this is the first day in...wow, I don't know how long!
Kay, that is just awful that the cops couldn't do anything? Not domestic battery or anything? I don't think I like Oklahoma much if there is nothing to stop this kind of behavior there.
I'll check back in again in the morning.

Still quiet. I started back at exercise class this morning as I'm now getting a ride from one of the gals. I had stopped going because he had started driving around at that hour. I don't know how he heard I was going or the details of when and where, but apparently he found out. The gal that runs the class said she saw him last week when class was over. He was crouching down in the shadows in the parking lot wearing a hooded sweatshirt. She said when he realized that she saw him, he left. She said it really creeped her out.
Will check in again tonight.

That's over the top creepy, Lisa. Stay alert. Does he have access to a computer? I've even wondered if he is reading what you post on this forum. He could read it w/out joining, right?

Janice, he doesn't even know how to turn one on, much less navigate on the net. So, I haven't been too worried about that. He's spending all of his time roaming town looking for me if he isn't sitting at the store scratching lottery tickets and downing the beer!
Oh, I tried one more time yesterday for a protection order at the urging of my judge and prosecutor. They said now that there is a stalking charge officially filed with the court against him that a judge should be willing to issue one now. I hadn't heard back from any judge by the time I left work yesterday. I should know before today is over if I got one or not. If not, then I have to wait until he is arraigned on Friday to get a no contact order (they are two different things, but equally effective). Which is a given in a stalking case.

They assigned this new protection order to the same judge that turned down the last two and who has the stalking case. He told my supervisor that he's not going to take it up until Friday when he arraigns him! I don't understand why I can't get through to this judge. It's incredibly frustrating!

Lisa,
They are much better now about domestic abuse here than back then. I'm not sure about restraining orders, but I do know that women are getting helped more and have better resources than I did. I did end up in a shelter with my daughter then and I can say that they are life savers. Whenever I have certain things I can't use any more, that's where it goes.
I wish that one judge would get off his backside and give you that protective order. Wonder what his problem is?
I'll keep praying for you and you stay strong.

Well, after hearing the judge would not deal with me until Friday, I decided to get the other incident reports done that the prosecutor told me to do. I wrote up 8 more - all just since Easter Sunday and turned them in to the city chief on my lunch hour. I'm sure he wasn't too happy about having to write up 8 more reports for the PA but this is what I was told to do.
Now, I'm not sure, but I'm guessing the chief had a chat with the ex (this is the same officer who told me he was sick of this) and it appears that he may finally be getting it. I went to our local grocery/eatery at 3 this afternoon to get coffee and as I got close to the door, the ex pulled into the parking lot. He immediately flipped a u-turn and left! I got inside the store and watched him leave. I was concerned he might be waiting for me on the way back to work, but no sign of him. I think somebody finally got through to him. Could be he finally realizes that he's in deep doo-doo and I'm not backing down so, he better behave himself.
The day may not have started well, but it ended well. I'm still going to be guarded but I finally feel some relief today.

I am just so sorry you are having to deal with all of this! I am impressed at how you are seemingly able to go on with your life and do what you need to do. I am sure that annoys him to no end! He is trying to intimidate you and make you afraid and instead you are being a strong woman and not putting up with it! I hope everything goes positively for you on Friday and hopefully this will all be worked out soon! You are in my thoughts!
Lots of hugs! ~Kristi |

That's great news for a change Lisa. I hope the judge really does take all this seriously on Friday and does something about it. He should have gotten off his dead butt long before now though (in my opinion).
Keeping you in my prayers, Cindy

Checking in...all is well. No sign of him the last two days in the early morning when I go to exercise class. Another good sign!
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I am faithful that is why I feel as strong as I do and why things are looking up. There is nothing more powerful than prayer!

Yep! Another quiet day. But I think I know why, now...one of the more intimidating-looking officers from the sheriff's dept. paid him a special visit to tell him how it is and that he was not to contact me by ANY means! I didn't know anything about that until my supervisor came back from an interdepartmental meeting this afternoon. Apparently, the ex came up for discussion during the meeting and they were surprised at how many more incidents there were(my supervisor told them about the last 8 I left with the city chief) since Easter Sunday and mentioned the possibility of filing more charges against him.
You know, I was thinking today...that if I have been having a hard time grasping this whole concept that maybe that's the problem with the city chief. He grew up here...very small town boy becomes very small town cop...we never have any kind serious crime happen here; certainly not for as long as he's been a cop. (Well, ok, there was one time when a woman shot her husband in the family jewels a few years back. But she didn't kill him and believe it or not, they got back together!). I know he has not had nearly the training the guys in the sheriff's office have had and several of those guys were cops in bigger cities before coming here. So, that could explain why he thinks all this is just "marital squabbles".

Just one more day to hopefully getting a protection order. I hope the judge can see it, although he's only arraigning him by phone. He's a Boise judge and they only come up here if they have to.

So what constitutes 'have to'? I think he should have to show up on a regular basis. Does he have to ride a horse to get there? Even in the old west, the circuit judges had some kind of a regualar schedule.
