Amy, you will just adore the Mitford series. I read them over and over and enjoy them every time. I also just finished the new Debbie Macomber blossom street book. (A nice easy read.) I will have to try her cedar Cove series. Thanks for the recommendation!

I read A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN last summer and loved it!! I am STILL reading THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH and like that too. Like most of you, there are many books going at once in my house. Right now I am still reading the bible every day as part of a year-long project. That has been so rewarding that I look forward to it every day.

I just picked up Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver at the library. I am going to re read it, it is one of my favorites. I wish I could remember who I loaned my copy too, so I don't have to borrow it from the library everytime I want to read it.

I just finished Debbie Macomber's new book Twenty Wishes. I loved it. I am also still reading over Simple Abundance again. That is a wonderful book.

I just read two of his books--A Dog Year, when he gets the first border collie, and Dog Days--I think it comes after the Dogs of Bedlam Farm.
They were both great books!

Marcia-- I think the books you're reading by Jon Katz are BEFORE "The Dogs of Bedlam Farm." In my book, he has THREE Border Collies-- (can't recall all their names at the moment, but "Rose" is a 6 or 7mo old puppy) In fact, I can't even find the BOOK!!! Not sure what I did with it!

I'm reading all different books right now anyway. I just finished reading Tasha Tudors "Dollhouse" book and "The Privat World of Tasha Tudor" What a HOOT that old woman is! She's simply amazing. I'm also reading some HOW TO books that I bought off Amazon last week. I think I ordered 8 different ones. At least I won't have to borrow them from the Library anymore! (they are mostly on wool carding/spinning/weaving and soap production-- my NEXT big projects!) Wish me luck! Tracy

Stephanie - I read that years ago. I think it is time to revisit!!
I just picked up a book called Little Heathens about living on a farm in Iowa during the depression. I will report on it.
I also just read Jackalope Dreams by Mary Clearman Blew - good book about the changes taking place in Montana as more and more property is bought for "summer places"

Just finished "SOME WILDFLOWER IN MY HEART" by Jamie Langston Turner. It was very good. Now I'm reading "SUMMER HARVEST" by Madge Swindells. Also a good book. Also reading Tom Sawyer just because I have never read it. All of these came form the thrift store. I have lots of books yet to read.

Jenny, that's kind of how I feel about Little Heathens - I'm about half done and it's interesting but not quite as engaging as I was expecting. Oh well....
