Ok, I did find your message! Perhaps spring time will bring you the desire to complete the Rose Rustlers. After all early spring brings new growth, more sunshine, and perhaps more clues???

Thanks Marilyn for the encouragement. For now I will put The Rose Rustlers Murders on a back burner and wait for inspiration for another short story. Never know when an idea will cross my mind.

We are off the ship and at Ed's cousin's in Port Charlotte, FL, for a few days. Then home on Jan 30.

Was a great cruise - we saw a lot of interesting places. And we booked another cruise for Jan 11, 2020 - it i also in the Southern Caribbean.

I'll try to catch up when we get home.

Thank you Darlene, happy you liked my little story.

Yesterday I raked the leaves stacking up around by A/C unit and under deck stairs. Hope to bag today. Maybe 2 o 3 big bags. Will put the bags at the back of the Yellow Rose Cottage to turn to leave mold. Will be good for next year's gardens. There are still leaves to fall but not so many.

It is cold here in Port Charlotte Florida. Going to be 41 tonight. Our original flight Home on Wednesday from Ft Myers was cancelled due to weather in St. Louis for the second leg. Now we have a direct flight. Yahoo!!

Linda, the weather is crazy!!! We are supposed
to drop to 29 tonight, then gradually rise a bit each day...before we crash into winter again.
Have a safe trip home on Wednesday. It is always so good to come back to your own nest, your own bed, shower, favorite chair, etc. It is always fun to cook something yummy...not exotic!

Jan 29 - this month is just about over and done with - wonder what Feb will bring.

At ten going to Braums with Bobbie. She fancies one of their sausage and biscuits. Braums makes sausage gravy so I may have one biscuit with gravy. As long as I eat lean rest of the day I should be okay. While I'm there I'll shop their fresh market.

Have you noticed you have think about and plan to eat right but to eat what's bad for you takes no thought at all?

Sure have Sara. Planning is best but probably most don't care to do it. I know that can be part of my problem.

Safe travels home, Linda! I know it will be good to get back and regroup after such a nice vacation.

Brrrrr, we are supposed to get very cold temps for Florida starting tonight through the next 3 days. My guess is that we will get a hard freeze too. I also purchased a new insert for my "cabin" faux fireplace that puts out heat. It can get very chilly in here at night when I like to be at the computer or reading. It is a small electric addition to what looks similar to the set up I had before that did not have heat. I really enjoy it these winter days!

My Crow friends are coming regularly several times a day for a few peanuts. I have noticed that now I think I have a "couple" because they come alone, sometimes without calling, and one is smaller than the other. The larger one seems to tend to her with certain behaviors like following close to her on the ground or at the birdbath. So interesting to me!! I love that they sit in the yard tree and call me till I come out and talk back to them. They don't fly away either. After I toss out the peanuts, I go inside because they feel safer with me not front and center. Except CrowFriend. He is fine with going right ahead and getting on the ground and gathering nuts. Such a little buddy!!

Winnie, glad you got an insert, I bet that feels toasty! I love the birds too. As soon as I go out with my bucket of sunflower seeds, they start talking, telling each other," she's got food"! The Morning Doves will perch on the fence and wait for me to walk away. I love to watch them from my window flying about, then the squirrels join them for some seeds! The squirrels are comical to watch! They will hang upside down by their feet on my Shepard's hook to get to those seeds!

Winnie your log cabin room seems very special, and now you will be warm!
It was chilly here mid day. My son and Baylee worked with the horses. The other guys were sent to a job. There was a big funeral here yesterday. A cowboy who was only about 40, died of a massive annurism in his brain. My son and his family went to the funeral, because he is pretty close to the guys family. He said there were easily 1500 people there!
If any of you saw the John Wayne movie about the cattle drive...many years ago, you may remember that he had a bunch of kids for the trail hands. Well the smallest and youngest of the crew, was here today and will come again tomorrow. He is shopping for new horses. He is a team roper, and actually lived in this area for many years, but lives somewhere out west now.
My son talks with him by phone frequently, and is excited that his friend is here.
Baylee is my son's only cow hand who knows and understands how to pull the track steer...how fast, etc. She used to warm the horses up for him too. I asked how she felt when I saw her at lunch, and she said fine. I think she has done better with the strict diet than her mom has. But she got so hungry one day that Julie boiled some eggs for her. She digested them fine.

Winnie enjoy your cozy fire.

Marilyn how exciting for your son to have a friend who has an interesting life. Before I moved to Paris I attended a Cowboy Church. Before then I didn't know about the cowboy culture and the friendships that span over many states. I met cowboy poets, musicians, rodeo people and cowhands. One of the women I met rode with the Glory Riders who rode white horses and rode in parades. One of the young couples collected and restored old buggies and wagons.
