So much to catch up here!! First of all, congratulations, Shannon, on your badge achievement!! You are amazing at how much you can fit into any day!! I am happy to hear that you have a day at home to take care of some of those projects that take up space in the back of your mind that you would really like to get done. It always feels so good to get things out of the chaos stage and into a more useable stage.!!

Sara, I am excited to know that Pearl is busy as usual keeping law and order in her community! Please add me to any list of recipients of Pearl stories and update!! One of the aspects of your Pearl stories is that they seem to have some details about your area of Texas and traditions of people who actually live and work there. It is a fun way to get to "visit”a different part of the US from my computer in a very engaging sort of way.

Winnie they say to write about what you know and so that's what I do. Started list to send story to and Winnie you are first in line.

It's cold this morning so I scraped my plans to look for onion plants instead I ordered them off Amazon and they will be here on Wed. I'm a week or two behind getting my planted. The longtime Lamar County gardeners already have theirs in the ground.

I was impressed with Amazon's selection of onion sets. I ordered organic heirloom white onion sets. I'm putting them in a container so they will be easy to plant. The container will go on a three shelve plant stand on back deck so I don't have to bend over to plant the 50-70 sets - I don't bend like I used to. lol

Sara, my strawberry plants are nice and warm now, in one of those Tractor Supply green house thingys. My DIL brought hers up for me to use just in time to get them inside before that cold norther hit Friday nite.
My husband saw some onion sets at Wal-Mart Saturday, but he did not purchase any.It is time to start
Planting those early things. I have one small head of cabbage from seeds I planted last fall. There will probably be four others!
Since I planted Austrian winter peas in one section, I need to get them out and feed the girls who lay eggs. I even give them the roots and dirt.

Marilyn so glad your strawberry plants are warm in their little green house. Chickens do like to peck around in green stuff.

Well Sara if you are about to reveal more about dear Pearl, then please add me to your list.
Maybe you should add some of this cold South wind to Pearl's saga.

Marilyn the Rose Rustlers Murders is in the dead of winter that's why everyone is out and about taking rose cuttings. Of course more than roses are on some folks minds - like murder.

Got you down.

I have been watching a show I ran across, I'm not even sure where. May have been a recommendation somewhere. It is Patricia Routledge. It is called Hetty Wainthrop Investigates. Has anyone ever seen it? I got the dvds as I had a gift certificate from Christmas. It is not so much murder mysteries though there are murders that occur in some of the episodes.
I love watching the British shows and am always looking for good ones. I have the set of Miss Marple shows. I so enjoy them.

Have you ever thought about getting these published Sara?

Denise they ran her series on PBS out of Dallas awhile back. I too enjoyed it. I like her and her Keeping Up Appearances is still being shown on PBS which is a British comedy.

I have the Keeping Up Appearances on dvd too Sara.

I have been puttering this morning. Going to do some more and then the 2 older grands are coming while they take the youngest to his Endocrinologist appointment today. They are usually here for 4 or 5 hours as it is a trek to get to his doctor and back and then of course the waiting to be seen.

I am going to have them help me decorate my valentine tree.
I left my small one up with the white lights and added some red sparkly string/rope as garland so now I will have them help me put the little ornaments on it. They enjoy seeing it when they come over. It is in the library which is the first place they head when they get here. I try to keep a lot of books for them to read here so they don't get bored. They all love to read.

Denise, your new British mystery series is new to me, and I am going to look for it myself. We get Acorn, which is all British shows and hoping they have it. Have you seen the BBC series, Father Brown? It is about a Catholic Priest who gets tangled up in the town murders. It is fun to watch! Recently, our PBS station is showing re-runs of Downton Abby and the Murder Mystery series, Endeavor. I love these old shows and never tire of seeing them again!

Post us a photo of your Valentine tree! Connie does one too and I plan to do mine real soon as well. I keep a little tree up all year long in our TV room because I love the little lights and keeping it decorated with fun seasonal holidays.

Father Brown is now on the Dallas PBS on Sat nights. Endeavor has been on but not for quite awhile. Endeavor tells the story of Inspector Morse as a young man. The Inspector Morse mystery series is one of my all time favorites. It also spun off the Inspector Lewis series which was also well done.

Little Eden my fictional town in Pearl's adventures is inspired by English villages and the murder mysteries that are set there. The British kill people off in horrific ways but you never see the blood and guts. It's all about the mystery and how it is solved.

I have not seen either Endeavor or Inspector Lewis series so will have to see if I can find them. I may need a trip to the library tomorrow. They sometimes have the British shows on dvds there.

I almost forgot to send in my request to vote by mail for 2019 until I saw the app while looking for something else. Here in Lamar County, TX if you send in your request in Jan they will send you the ballots during the year without having to request each. For us who vote by mail this is a good thing. If you are interested in voting by mail check with your county voting clerk to see how they do it.

That is how my dad voted when he lived here. We just stopped over to the board of elections and he filled out a form to vote by mail and they automatically sent him a ballot to mail in each time.

I feel like a public service announcer this morning. Forever stamps going up on Jan 27. Forgot how much. My sister Bobbie went to the Post Office yesterday for ours. I also have ordered stamps through the mail. My postman was kind enough to bring me the order forms. He's the one who held on to Annie when she got stickers in her paws and I had to pull them out. He also will put heavy Amazon boxes inside my door for me. He's the best one I have. The others just put in their time.

Sara, you can look online under USPS for the specifics of the new rate heights. Thankfully, all of our current Forever stamps are good and no additional postage is needed after the hike. I think the rate for Forever is going to be 55 cents. Also, postcard stamps are not going to be in the rate hike which is good . One think I love about postcards is that they are so much more cost effective for mailing large batches.

Denise, I could not find Endeavor on Acorn but I need to look again and also on Netflix or Amazon Prime. Currently, I am watching the re-runs on our local PBS station.

Bobbie may have the 27th wrong but I paid the same yesterday as I did earlier this month.

Ordered food to be delivered today instead of tomorrow because having lunch with sisters. Making black bean soup with my home canned beans and chicken broth. It's cold and dreary today so soup is called for. Just got to watch portion size and no seconds.
