Denise, one more thing, would you consider placing some photos here of what your set up looks like? I would like to see what your template was and then how you used that for materials. I understand if you don't have time to bother with photos. Just wondering.

Winnie, I was taking pictures earlier but didn't get a chance to post them then. I didn't really have a set plan. I was just sort of winging it. Lol. These are done top to bottom. I am doing it on my phone so it was difficult to get them right. I still need to make a cover page for the badges area and I have my certificate with the pages that are for that badge.

Denise, I got it in 2013 in the mail from Debbie- Blessed in Colorado. When I was invited to join.
I think you can email Brian Ogle to get some. I bet they got new ones now.

Several weeks ago I ordered embroidery patterns and just this morning I paired three of them up with what I want to put them on. The patterns are simple seed packet veggies. The pumpkin will go on tea towel with orange stripes down sides. The carrots on a cotton bag for keeping carrots in the fridge. The corn on a tea towel with green & yellow stripes down the sides. Hope to iron on the patterns later today. Now to decide which to do first.

Other veggies are radishes, eggplant, squash, bell peppers, broccoli, and beets.

Sounds pretty Sara. I love to embroider but haven't done much lately. Would be nice to sit on the porch and stitch.

Well, I'm back from China and as soon as I get re-acclimated to being home I will start to finish and start a few projects. On the ship in China there was a tailor making jackets to order from pretty silk fabrics. His assistant said the scraps were "up for grabs" so I picked up a few every evening and want to make a wall-hanging. I think I have seen a quilt block pattern for the Chinese happy cat, and want to make the wall-hanging from them. I hope I can find the pattern.

I love your Scrappy Trails quilt, Carole. That is similar to a pattern I've been wanting to try.
Your garland and "everything" tree is also special, Winnie. Wish I had a place for ann everything tree.
Sara - your idea for the embroidery patterns sounds wonderful.
Connie and Denise - I also love your binders. I have my certificates in a notebook but have not yet embellished them in any way. Another "someday" project. I am keeping watch on your ideas for this.

I'm still partially on China time (13 hours ahead), so need to get my US legs and mindset back.

One thing - I won't be eating Chinese food for quite a while. LOL!

Linda soooo good to have you back and when you're rested a bit I want to hear all about China. Great to have the scrapes of silk - looking forward to seeing the finished wall hanging.

Connie & Denise, thank you for sharing your binder. I have two binders, one for the badges and one for the henhouse. I will admit, they are not a pretty as yours are. Plain Jane! lol

I haven't been quilting much, but I did manage to finish a UFO from 2014 the is presently loaded on Penelope. The quilt is called Peace & Unity, the last in the series commemorating the 150 anniversary of the Civil War. Here is the top, minus the borders.

I forgot to take a picture after I sewed the main border on. But here it is on Penelope.

Not sure when I'll get a change to machine quilt it. Perhaps today, as I do have the day off!

Hugs,

Carole, that is gorgeous!

Today I am working on some cushion covers for a glider rocker. .
The cushions are fine but not the color I want so changing them up. I will take apart the old and use that for a pattern.

Thanks everyone! You are all so kind.

I finished hand stitching the binding on Peace and Unity and have picked a new project to complete off that UFO list ... Modern Building Blocks. When I put the quilt away I had six (6) blocks pieced. I now have 24.

You can read about it on my blog at: http://www.carolesquiltingetc.com/

Catch you all later! Cheers!

I have been sewing a lot for my sweet Lily June. She goes to pre-School now 2 days a week. I just saw The movie Christopher Robin is coming in August! Out whole family loves Pooh! I made her a dress and purse to match out of Ladybug fabric, but forgot to get a picture! Too hot here to do anything else but stay inside!
