Denise, Thank you for your good wishes for the coming New Year.

I've settled on what veggies to put in two of my raise beds and will order them on Jan 2 to be shipped at appropriate time. This year my new veggie to try is walking onions also known as Egyptian onions. Plan on ordering two plants in 3" pots.

Sara, I ordered Egyptian Walking Onions for delivery last fall. When the box arrived they were missing. I was refunded but now must wait until fall again or order somewhere else. So where did you get yours???

Marilyn, I order from Mountain Valley Growers out of California. I have good results with their live plants. Shipping is high but the plants are of good quality; packing is good; and two day shipping. The bay tree I got from them two years ago is growing like a weed. I have to keep it pruned because I winter it over in the house.

https://www.mountainvalleygrowers.com/herbsordermethod.htm

Along with the 2 walking onions I'm ordering 6 Red Russian Kale, 6 tri-color Swiss Chard, 2 leeks, and 2 green cabbages. Shipping requirements are min of 6 plants -mix or match - example 6 - 12 -18 etc plants.

Happy New Everyone. We are hearing Fireworks right now It got cold. This morning it was 70 now it dropped to 50 and winds. And more rain coming. We had storms this morning. Can believe 2018 is almost over. It is almost 9 pm. Hot tea sounds good with toast and peanut butter. Now I feel cold. lol.

I had totally forgotten about it being New Years eve, until Had called and invited us up. So we went. We nibbled until we were full of summer sausage, cheese balls, tamales, and a bunch of other things. Then we sat and tried to visit over some football game. Shadow was curled up asleep near my sons feet. Now we are home again and those weather guesses were a little off. Now they think the bad cold winter storm will last most of the remainder of the week, with snow and ice, better known as freezing rain. That brings back memories of last February!

Not only do we have a New Year ahead of us but we have brand spanking new minutes and hours to piddle to our hearts contend. Love the dreams and promises a New Year brings.

My New Year's Day is cold and overcast - 36 - just what a Texas Jan 1st should be. lol Thankful for no ice but possibility of ice later this week with near freezing temps and rain.

On the lighter side - eat your black-eyed peas for good luck.

It is chilly here in northeast Texas; a cool start to a new year 2019. We are watching the Rose Bowl Parade and trying to get moving.

We leave for Florida next Wednesday - for 3 days we are staying with new friends we met on the China cruise in May. Then, on Saturday, we leave for Port Canaveral for our cruise to the southern Caribbean - St. Maarten, St. Kitts, St. Thomas, San Juan, Aruba, Curacao, and Amber Cove DOminican Republic. Looking forward to some R&R. We haven't really started ppacking or even thinking about packing yet. I still need to go shopping for warm weather clothes and new shoes - both walking shoes and shoes to wear when we dress up a bit. I've ordered a formal dress on line for the 2 formal nights (yes, wearing same dress twice) and it is supposed to get here tomorrow. I hope it fits or I will need to find another dress, too.

Once my sister, her daughter and I went on a cruise. She packed at the last minute, after all she was quite the traveler, and was always practically ready to leave.
Funny thing...the first night to dress up she put on her shoes looked down, and saw two different colors. She had intended to bring gold, but in her hurry had put in one gold shoe and one bronze shoe.
She was furious, but it made for a good laugh!
I used to make a list, gather the tbings, then pack a couple of days early...So I could make sure I had it all.
My problem is taking too much stuff. Finally I learned that yes, you can. Wear the same garment several times...After all you are probably cruising with strangers...and they are probably doing likewise.

Will try to post pics, but we may not have Internet unless I can find a Starbucks or McDonald's in ports. LOL!
Yes, Marilyn, I ALWAYS pack too much. I'm getting better, and don't NOT wear too much of what I bring. AND because I am Platinum level on Carnival, I get 5 bags of landry done free on this cruise. That came in very handy on the Alaska cruise.

I just got back from shopping at Chicos and got a new pair of walking shoes, 2 pr of jeans, and 3 tops. Everything was on sale for 50% off the already sale price. WHEEE! I ordered another pair of jeans that I HOPE comes in before we leave. I still need to find a nice comfortable pair of dress shoes - comfortable being the primary criteria. LOL!

I went to my son’s wedding yesterday, it was small and lovely my daughter and family were there too, then I went home with my granddaughters and they went to the Elks lodge for a wedding dinner and New Year celebration. I really enjoyed my granddaughters and they just turned Seven on Sunday.
Happy New Year my special Farm Sisters. Love you all.

Hugs and blessings
