Hobby Lobby, with all of its pretties, actually made Hadlee sick. She was so overwhelmed, she began to cry. We left. She loves to go to Michaels in Granbury. It is a small store.
I go in Wal mart...I go find what I must have and get out. My husband gets so frustrated with me, because I don't like to go up and down all the isles and look, and look and look. He tells me that is where old folks go to walk and visit. I guess I don't have time to be old yet.

Hi Maryellen!!!! Been missing you!!!!!

Today I am curled up on my bed, with my fleece snowflake blanket and a cup of hot tea, working on school plans for my younger children. Everyone is moving slowly today, as we played Phase 10 last night for family game night, and stayed up until one this morning! We are going to need to start setting a timer for game nights I'm thinking!

Thanks gals! We got 8 inches of snow. It is absolutely beautiful! I have been busy in the house making cards. Getting a jump on my Valentines Day cards. Made a sun drop pound cake and baked spaghetti. Life is good here in North Carolina! Hopefully we can get to church tomorrow.

Today Ed and I (at the horses in the back pasture and tore down the fences down the driveway (barbed wire) and at the front and east sides (wooden) of the house. Wednesday they are going to put in my new fence! WOO HOO! Can't wait. The old wood fence was nice, but it was old and needed replacing. The horses would rub their butts on it and down would come a top rail. Several times I would go out the door to go shopping, only to have to come in, grab the drill and screws, and go out and fix a rail that had fallen down. This is a Priefert fence - with 6" diameter wood posts and 4 powder-coated rails. Both of us are SORE!! Nice hot shower and bed for us.

Yes. I was surprised at what we accomplished. It was a lot of work, but was good to Do-It-Ourselves. The fence installer still has to pull out the wooden 4x4 posts, but he has the means to do that. LOL!

Sounds like a great fence that will hold up and be worth all of the effort it took to get it up.

This is what the new fence will look like - wooden posts with grey rails. Mine is 4-rail - the picture is 3-rail.

Linda, Good choice on your new fence. I'm seen a lot of them around and they always look good.

How lovely Linda!!! I'm excited to see the pictures of your fence when it is done. I'm trying to picture a horse rubbing his bum against the fence and part of it falling down... I cannot help but laugh at the image!

Working with the kids on their school today. Learning more about the Revolutionary War and Indonesia as soon as the kids are done their math. Have some chicken broth simmering on the stove. I'll can it as soon as the dishwasher is done (that is where my jars are at the moment).

Beautiful Linda! I have been wanting to get a section or two of split rail put up along the drive. There is a section that really needs to been fenced off.

Fighting a sore throat tonight. Can't seem to catch a break here with this stuff going around. I was hoping dad would get over it and we would be done. hot tea and honey tonight

Love the new fence Linda.
Denise have you ever tried hot Dr.Pepper with lemon? I usually begin my fight against a sore throat with a gargle of aspirin tablets dissolved in a bit of water. Usually works good.

No, I haven't tried it Marilyn. I don't drink soda. It is some better. Took some stuff to clear my breathing and lozenges and tea for the throat.Taking it easy and puttering with this and that.
Working on touches of Valentine decor around the house.

Hope everyone is doing good and having a great day!

The fence would have been finished today, but the company shorted their installer 7 rails. So - if they have them in stock he will finish tomorrow. if not, they will have to powder coat them. I also like the fence so much I want him to put another 100 feet across the front. LOL! Pictures tomorrow. We were super busy today and I didn't get any taken. LOL!

Fence pictures - since these are from a distance I hope you can see the new fence. Most is done, waiting for last few rails that go at the end of the driveway. The pink gate I had before is just leaning against the new fence (I got this in memory of my cousin, who passed away from breast cancer) and the archway (left from the previous fencing and I still need to repair and paint) were incorporated into the new fencing. These pictures were taken before the fencing was put in down the driveway. I will add those before and after pictures soon.
