Hey Jess,
from the sounds of it, sounds like if it didn't move, it got covered in laundry!!!! LOL!
In the military there is a saying, "If it moves salute it, if it doesn't, paint it"
I was thumbing through a cutsie retro catalog @ a friends house the other day, in this catalog it had for sale an umbrella clothes lines,,,,and here is the catcher....$169.00,, R-they nuts!
Who in their right mind would pay that for a clothes line? I think I paid all of $34 for mine when I bought it 15years ago. But what I also have, which I love, is a 6 line retractable clothes line that I bought 3-4 years ago. When not in use I retract it. Very user friendly!

Peeking in mailbox. You know, it is divine intervention. My dryer quit on the 3rd. On the 4th, there was an umbrella dryer out at a sidewalk sale. I kid you not. For now, I'm using the still-naked pins I have left over.

I'm so excited to see what you have all made. It is so fun to hear your happiness, and I so appreciate that you aren't spilling the beans so I get to be just as surprised. :)

We make a difference.

OK, I know not everyone has gotten theirs yet,

But I saw some really cute little doodads for the next clothespin swap. It would be best if they happened in a set of 5.

okay, you peeked my curiosity, what did you find? I have some for the next one also, we made them this morning, and I do not know if my girls will let them go, but I was trying to be organized and ahead of the game. So give it up Elizabeth what did you find?

Kristina/Kitchenwitch how's it going? I really appreciate your time and effort to make up the missing batch of clothespins. I know summer is crazy busy.

I sure have been enjoying my "naked pins" on the clothesline. I'm half tempted to doodle "censored" on them or worse. That would take some explaining so I better not. I'll just giggle to myself. I think this was just the excuse I needed to go solar, this and the dryer dying. What a fun idea!

We make a difference.

Ladies... sweet, patient ladies of the 18'er group--YOUR PACKAGES ARE SHIPPING TOMORROW. Finally.

I must tell all of you that I am horrified by how I have managed this swap. There has been no end to the mishaps, coincidences, and disruptions along the way on this end. NO ONE could be more frustrated with me than I am with myself. I am SO sorry! I won't make excuses--because they are still excuses--but I will say this: our kinda country livin' doesn't lend itself to swaps. There were a hundred ways in which the things I didn't know--about swapping, about our shipping, about setting expectations, about guiding people to the simplest way--before I set off. I was clearly not ready for this, certainly not at this time. I am genuinely sorry that this has been such a confusing mess.

Huckelberrywine, as your package of 36 was apparently not shipped since someone in the household <a-hem> knew you were getting 18, too, you have waited the longest--your packages are also going out tomorrow. Finally.

I had to do some repairwork on quite a few of the clothespins that came in. If you notice that one of your clothespins comes back to you looking ever so slightly different, I hope you will understand I did my best...

Thanks to all of you for your patience and understanding. I have learned a tremendous amount since hosting this swap, but I am sorry that it came at the expense of your experience.

Live joyfully, deliberately, simply, abundantly.

Kristina,
Please, don't beat yourself up. This has been a horrid summer for many of us. Life happens and it is rough sometimes. There is not one person here that will think badly of you dear. I had to back out of everything recently and I feel so bad about that, but life just happens.

Your family comes first.....do you need more postage money? Just let us know.

Kristina, big hug. No complaints from me. :) I have really enjoyed the idea, and have benefitted. Who knows how long I might have procrastinated to get my solar dryer going. :) You gave me just the right inspiration. The idea was a wonderful gift in itself. :) Farmgirl patience, hope, and support is an easy trade. :) Much in demand, never needs dusting, gotta love that!

We make a difference.

Thanks, ladies. Aunt George, you just reminded me of something when you said "postage"! For those of you that sent checks with your clothespins, please don't wait form to be cashed and cleared--consider them null and void. Among the many exciting adventures I've had surrounding this swap was one involving our beloved dog, Imara. Since we put her mother down in May, she's been a bit more nervous than usual. She decided to chew through all of the checks and cash I had sitting on the coffee table with the sorted clothespins when she was left inside while Zach mowed the back yard. None of the checks or bills were recoverable, so I won't be depositing anybody's check. (FYI, I shredded the scraps that were left anyway, just to be sure...) Please don't send a replacement check--considering the fossil fuels used to get them to me, it isn't worth it. My shipping discount from work makes the charges negligible as is.

Thanks!

Kristina - Oh my! You did such a nice job with the packaging and everything. Are you sure? Do you have a paypal account? I can send you a replacement amount that way?

Kristina,
I'm so sorry. You know I used to laugh when I heard the old homework excuse, "my dog ate my homework." Then I got a dog....and he eats paper....any paper!!! If it is left at my dog's eyelevel, it is gone and like yours, doesn't matter what kind of paper it is.

Really, I'll be glad to send a bit more!

It's really not a problem--apparently Moose did this when she was a puppy (long before I joined the family) but grew out of it as an "adult" dog. With her momma gone, some of her quirks have resurfaced. What're you gonna do? <insert typical momma shrug here>

Jessica, I'd be happy to share the nest boxes, but I think they live in Zach's head! I know he used some of the books we have as a starting point and made it up from there. I think he jotted his work down, though. I'll ask him when he gets back in town tomorrow. He'll be *thrilled* to know someone likes his work enough to duplicate it!

Also, fair warning 18'ers: Because you had to wait I added a couple of goodies to your boxes. Each of you will find a rose/vanilla "Hope" candle along with some avocado cucumber soap with lavender, tangerine, and grapefruit fragrance. Huckelberrywine, you are the only exception: you got a soap with a more premium oil--nag champa--as you have had to wait the longest of anyone--and for both rounds of clothespins, no less! I hope all of you enjoy them.

smoothiejuice, my man swears he can jot his plans down, but he may not get to it until this weekend--can that still work for you?
