Linda - That scarf looks as if one could put the back over the head to make a hood. I wear my infinity scarves that way.

Winnie - I am making the fourth square. They will be sewn together into a long rug which will go beside my bed for the comfort of my feet. It will be done soon, and I will definitely post pictures.

Yes, Marie, it would make a great hooded scarf; you could wear it over your head and then wrap around your neck. You could probably even sew down the back of the hood and that might help alleviate all the poufiness when arranging the scarf around your neck. I may pin one and try that. LOL!

Marie - thank you for the crocheted ornament patterns. They arrived today. Great way to use up smaller pieces of yarn.

Linda you and the scarf look great! I have tried the one I made and was struggling with the wrapping it 3 times around my neck. Making it shorter and a twice wrap might be better. I still have to get some snaps, but I like the look. Happy crocheting those granny squares Marie!! A rug will be super nice.

Michele - I'm happy you tried the scarf. Did you make it 72" or 90"? IMHO 90" (as specified in the pattern) is way too long. I think the 72" for twice around might be a little too long; it is comfortable but loosely wrapped. I am going to try other lengths with just a piece of fabric to see what might work better - for me, anyway.

Well since my day got hi-jacked.. I pulled a photo book kit that has been sitting in my UFO stash,, funny thing, it was a UFO from my mother in law’s stash. She gave it to me last year, sadly she passed away 2 months ago.. I spotted it in my paper craft bin, pulled it out and completed it today..
I think I will dig through some old photos of my hubby’s parents and put them in this photo book and give it to him for his birthday…

… I added a "pocket" to pt a photo in on the front cover..

… This is the inside and 1st page..

I used gift wrap and fancy ribbon ,, now to go through the old albums to find the perfect photos to tuck in.

The last 3 nights I have been knitting on the red triangle shawl. I only have 34 decreasing rows to go, from 44 stitches down to 11, so hopefully will go quickly. Then I need to undo the 5 stitches on each end of the row and they become the fringei. This has been a UFO for over 13 years, and i think that is because it is knit every row and is very boring. I cant wait to finish this shawl. I’ll post a pix when done.

Linda, I did the scarf 90 inches. I do think it is too much to try to wrap around your neck. It can easily be shortened by taking out a few stitches and cut it down. It is sitting on my craft table waiting for snaps. I will play with it more and decide.
Grace the photo album is wonderful. Glad you were able to finish it and then it will be a great gift. Rack up those PhD's.
Linda, 3 nights of knitting I can picture those needles flying along. Hope you finished it up!!

Michele - we can compare the length we come up with. I'm thinking of trying (by pinning one I finished) to see if 6" shorter that 72 would be better - for me, anyway.

WOO HOO! The red knitted shawl is done! The fringe pieces at the top of the shawl need a bit of "hanging out" so the curl straightens out. LOL! It is a large shawl. When you are done knitting you are done, except for pulling out the fringe and weaving in a few ends. It is a pretty large shawl, but very easy.

Grace, your photo book is beautiful. Your hubby is going to love it. Especially with all the pictures of his parents.

Linda, your shawl is very pretty. I like the color. I bet it feels great to have another project done.

Woo hoo! I finished another PhD - the Crooked Courthouse Steps quilt top - 96” x 96” - has been handed off to my longarm quilter. I finished adding 63 blocks to the quilt top to make it larger. Here is a picture of the quilt top.

Oh my goodness Linda, that quilt top is beautiful!! You are really on the ball, and I’m still sitting here “thinking” about what needs to go on my list, lol.

Yes, lots of pieces - 144 blocks and each has at least 13 pieces and often more, so that would be over 1500 pieces at the least. It is super scrappy and didn’t put much of a dent in my scraps. Lol! It will go on our bed when I get it back.

Beautiful shawl Linda and that quilt is amazing. We are doing a full remodel on our kitchen right now so my ufo projects are small ones. I have a baby afghan and 2 dish clothes in my basket by my chair to pick up when I sit down for a moment.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

I finished the Mavericks baby quilt for my new grandson, Dawson. WOO HOO! Another PhD bites the dust! It is made with the emblem from a Dallas Mavericks t-shirt in the center and other Mavericks fabric and coordinating prints. His dad is Box Office Manager for the Dallas Mavericks.
