Linda, I love your quilt and the book sounds so cute. I will have to get my new great nephew the book, maybe his mom can make the sweet quilt.

The book has a very nice story, Debbie. I think it is a great book for kids.

Linda, your quilt is beautiful! Your grandson is going to love it.

Judith, that is a great idea. If it will be too big once I finish all the squares, I will just make 2! Thank you for the idea!

Linda -- your ghost quilt looks just like the one on the book.
I was in a group once that vowed not to go to fabric stores. I'm proud to say I lasted a whole 6 months.

Thank you, Judith. I tried to make it look like the book's cover quilt. It is definitely random placement of the quilt squares, and I thought blue, grey and white were close to the the colors.

I have said that about staying out of fabtric shops, too - just this year. So far I have made it. I bought fabric in December to finish 2 kids quilts, but so far none in 2025. So - I have lasted 1-1/2 months - almost - so far this year. LOL!

I finished my next square last night. I am not happy with the colors for the eyes. I wish it would have been a lighter color around the black eyes so they popped more, but it still works.

I am already a fourth of the way done with my next corner to corner. This one is moving along much faster because there aren't as many color changes. I also need to figure out which UFO I want to work on as well. I am hoping to keep my pace up and finish a bunch more projects before garden time hits.

Thank you Grace! I am really keeping myself busy this year. Yesterday I started one of the cross stitch patterns you passed on to me. So far so good!

Grace, I love your little aprons. So adorable! I actually bought Everleigh her own Kids cross stitch kit for Christmas. She does struggle with it, but she loves it.

Krista,, when I worked for the Park & Rec District,, (back when Dinosaurs walked the earth!) I actually taught simple cross stitch for little ones age 5-10..
I started them on 8 count Aida cloth,, for a few I had them use plastic canvas because it was stiffer and easier for them to hold.
There is also 10ct that works well... I started my students on a simple 'House' shape with 2 windows , a door and chimney.. once their brains process
the linear movement, left to right it becomes easier for them..
I wish I lived down the road from you, we would have 'High Tea and Stitchery"...

Nancy, thank you! I am so close to finishing my next one. I can't wait for the finished product either.

Grace, you make me laugh! I like the plastic canvas idea. I will have to get one of those and see if it makes it easier for her. I will have to get a picture of her patterns and show you. They are pretty simple. I think her biggest struggle is keeping the yarn from tangling. I think once school and dance are done for the year (she is on a competition dance team this year and it takes a lot of her time) she will have some more free time to pick it back up. I wish you lived down the road too! I can only imagine how much fun we would have together!
