Hurray! I got the package from April today! I love the sweets, the coaster will sit under my iced tea,the towel will be for special dishes, and I'll take the pen with me to work. Have a great summer!

As soon as the roads dried from the rain, I pumped up my bicycle tires, put on a coordinating shirt, strapped on the box and set off for the post office.  Doing an errand and getting exercise! My mail art partner should get the box Monday.

Received my June mail art from Marilou in Canada today!! Thank you, Marilou! The scrapbook style popcicyle card on a stick was adorable and your summer be happy scrapbook style card was soooo cute. So bright and cheerful! I really enjoyed reading the letter you sent also, thank you - your penmanship is perfectly beautiful! I was at the post office this morning and my post lady at the counter hinted that I had a package out for delivery today, she said it was so pretty it caught her eye! Your doodles and art work on the front of the envelope were so pretty! Thank you for such a cheerful package! You made my June! XO, April

Vanessa, I received your wonderful Mail Art and I just love the doxie you made for me. I have a live one. 
Thank you for making my summer a lot more fun. The coloring book, the cute little dragonfly lights, the orange dish towel, Orange ribbon and the wonderful handmade Doxie. Be careful out on your bike. How cool to be able to ride to the post office.

Not sure when I can get my June mailart sent out to my partner as we are trying to stay right beside mom. She is really dwindling down and we want to be sure that she isn't alone when the good Lord calls her up. Although this process began more than a year ago, we have had a scare this week that for all practical purposes was "our sign" that it won't be long. I hope y'all understand and I really hope to be able to get the pkg to post office by Saturday, so it won't be too awfully late!
HANG ON, SLOOPY, HANG ON! <<--one of mom's 45's that I used to play!! Kind of fitting, - - -in my mind anyway. I was a kid and took it at face value, sure hope it didn't have adult connotations that I was oblivious to... just a fun song as far as I am concerned.

Doris, just take care of your mom. I remember our sign. We walked outside the nursing home in Glen Rose and heard fiddle music,"Faded Rose." That was my mother's favorite song. It was coming from a fiddling contest being held in Oak Dale Park, just down the hill. The next day after church and Sunday lunch, I gathered some tapes and a player and drove back over to see her. She was in a deep deep sleep, but I held the little tape player to her ear so she could 'listen' to her brothers fiddle music. She never moved. I told her how much we all loved her and we would all miss her, but I knew she wanted to go with Jesus this time. She had seen him twice in the past week. I suppose she needed to know her kids would be ok, because she went with Him about an hour later. The best thing is you and your sister have been there for and with her. It is good not to feel guilty for not doing enough, when they pass away. Prayers for each of you and God's blessings too.
