Hooray for Spring! It's time to sign up for April Mail Art
If this is your first time signing up for Mail Art, please visit the topic Farmgirl Mail Art to read our guidelines. Then leave a comment on that post if you want to participate and I will contact you.
FOR APRIL, please leave a comment on this thread stating you'd like to join in. Sign-up is available through April 15. If your comment appears after you've posted it, that means you're on the roster.
This month, we'll keep on with our theme and challenge that we started in January. Doris Meisell has chosen for us this month and our theme will be Travel/Vacation. I sure have some fond memories of places I've traveled. Our challenge will be to add our favorite song to the theme. My gears are already turning, trying to think of only one favorite song! And as always, if the theme/challenge isn't right for you, feel free to march to the beat of your own artistic drummer.
I will send an email with your partner to you on April 16. Please send your Mail Art before April 30.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
1. Traditionally, Mail Art has been "secret"; part of the fun is receiving a surprise package from a surprise partner. I would encourage you not to tell your partner who you are until a reasonable amount of time has passed for them to receive your art.
2. Please be sure to include enough postage for your Mail Art to reach its destination :)

Kristi, I feel I should apologize in advance to my partner because I haven't even started making art yet! We are in full swing on my farm, and as I drive back and forth on the tractor, I plan out every detail of my project in my head. Then, when I finally get to the house, finish dinner and sit down I'm all used up! But this monthly "assignment" is what keeps me charged and balanced, keeps my brain healthy, and grounds me as an artist in my busy life, so I am NOT going to let that sister down!
After catching up on the streams this morning, and watching the national news, I am praying for our sisters in Texas, and a mourning family in New York, and giving thanks for a forum where the pains of life can be swept up in caring words like a great big hug and turned into the joy of connectedness and understanding. From appreciating our sisters and memorializing friends in art, to supporting each other in the difficulties of aging parents and broken relationships, the flow of positive energy from these posts is so beautiful. This group always encourages me and lifts my heart! God bless you all! |
