Thanks Grace, Good to be back! Now I just have to get busy. Some of the my ufo's on the block is a pot holder, still working on my quilt and several cuff bracelets and finish up the raised gardens that my dh and I started 2 years ago. Oh My

I bet it is a real choir at night when the frogs start singing.
Well, 5 yards of top soil, 5 yards of cow poo, 4 bags of oak leafs, we are now ready to till. With any luck, I will get the strawberries in this weekend. Veggies by the end of the month.

Hi everyone, I've been out of touch for a while. My daughter finished grad school, so we had the graduation and all kinds of family from out of town, etc. But . . . It's good to be back. Right now I'm tackling three UFO's. Knitting a sweater and hat for a new baby coming to the family in July, making a muslin of pants and a top for myself, and converting two baby dresses that never got worn into skirts for my granddaughter. Woo Hoo!

Will do, Grace. I checked the measurements yesterday, and it should work. Of course, the important word here is "should" . . . :)

Oh yes Amy, please post photo of the skirts, they sound like a great idea.
Finished an UFO. I started building raised gardens about 2 or 3 years ago. Got side tracked and just finished them (including plants) this week. I am so excited. Haven't had a real garden for 2 or 3 years.

Theresa,,, congrats on getting your raised planters completed... and your garden started... doesn't it feel good to get another UFO project checked off? I finished an apron, repurposed from a shirt... I had it cut out,,,(almost 1 year ago) and finally got it stitched up. Whew! Summertime is a tuff time for me to complete UFO's... as I like to be outside all day..lol!

Thanks, It was a real job. They were built in the garage and became so heavy that my hubby and I had a really hard time getting them on a trailer to take them out there. I bet they weigh over 150 pounds each. Feels so good to have a garden again.
Grace, hope you post a photo of the apron, sounds really cute.
Thanks Amy.
I agree, summer is really hard to do ufo's. I too like being outside. Now on to the pot holder I am making for my daughter. Tired of seeing the pieces parts laying around the craft room.

Oh my stars! You girls' work is beautiful! I agree with many of you that UFO's seem to multiply when you're not looking! Thank you for the inspiration to dig a few out and complete them so i can enjoy them!

I finally divided my projects into two lists, those that I have already started, and those that I want to do. The goal is to get the "started" ones completed before I start a new project. That said, I completed another project. I did some glass etching on a mirror. This was my first project of this type, so just to keep things interesting, I did the mirror in my bathroom rather than a small mirror that I could lay on a flat surface. Needless to say, it was challenging. It also shows up better when the bathroom is steamy too.
One more down, 16 identified UFO's to go.

It helps to say something nice about yourself each time you see yourself. Being kind and generous to ourselves is very difficult for some of us. I am hoping this will inspire the whole family to be kinder to themselves and each other.

Sheri, your mirror is so great! I love the idea, how did you come up with it! Boy, Ruthie, you are zooming along! I finished two long time UFO's over the weekend. I've wanted to make fitting muslins of some basic patterns for a long time, and I finished two -- narrow-leg pants and a sleeveless top. Now I can start to finally update my clothes and I know things will fit really well. Next will be a basic dress. So nice to actually finish stuff!

I have a hard time saying nice things to myself. Body image has been an issue for me for as long as I can remember. I am working hard to be kinder to myself and gentler with the vocabulary I use when I see myself. These words are some I am working to say to myself each day.
I also have a young daughter who sees my struggle and needs positive reinforcement of her own. The hope is to empower us both and remind us that we are each "good enough" and "worthy" of positive thoughts of ourselves.
