I was stuck on a knitting pattern which seemed to be off by one stitch. It is a kind of complicated ripple pattern with yarn overs and knit 2 togethers. I was certain that the pattern was wrong but didn't have enough knowledge of these types of patterns to make the adjustment. I tried to look up corrections to the pattern and had no luck. I then thought the problem was me. I took the pattern to 2 yarn groups and received encouragement which was really nice. Finally, I took it to the very best yarn shop in the city and attended their knitting group. One of the ladies had used this pattern but couldn't find the mistake. The proprietor went to her computer and looked up the error and FOUND IT. Now I am on my way. Woo Hoo!!

Well, here it is....April and I do not have one of my UFO's completed! Whatever do you girls do to get motivated? It seems that I am always putting out fires instead of doing anything productive! Right now, I am focusing on sewing for Rendezvous. I am only successful at getting one or two seams done before a fire starts somewhere and I have to go put it out. AAARRRRGGGHHHH! I will complete at least one of these UFO's this year, by darned!

I still have my mother-in-law's quilt sitting around waiting to be worked on. I don't have a flat surface big enough, and I have dogs.

Hey Sherone! Just let the fire burn itself out or teach someone else how to put it out. LOL

Oh Marie, iove the way you put things! Sherone, I try to have faith that there is truly a time for every purpose under heaven, as the Book says! I feel your frustration as right now between caring for my mom and babysitting my granddaughter, I get very little stitchin' and craftin' done. So I just keep saying "a time to every purpose" and do my best! That being said, I did finally take Marie's wise advice and chart out the sweater that's been driving me crazy for months. Fingers crossed, I may just finish the darn thing before next winter!

Happy Day!

I am excited that I have a few more projects finished in the last couple of weeks that I can finally get crossed off of my list! I finished up some stitching and made it into a pillow for my guest bed.

This is a little mini quilt that I finished. I have the scissors in the picture to show its size. It has little tiny buttons sewn on for flowers

I started this quilt in 2003! I hate to admit that! hahaha But it was an on and off project. It did a lot of sitting on the shelf waiting to be finished but it finally got done this weekend! I almost felt like I had a child that had left home when the last stitch was finally in place!

I finished this quilt this weekend. I am going to use it to apply for my expert quilting badge. It was so much fun to do....it reminds me of the paper dolls that I used to have when I was young! Each little outfit is appliqued....applique is my all time favorite.

Once I started going through my UFO's I realized that I have un-started projects stuffed in with my UFO's making it look like I have more things to complete than I actually do. I spent 4 mornings just getting all my UFO's in the same spot and listing them in a notebook. Now they are all bagged and in baskets on my shelves in the sewing room. I discovered about 15 or so projects that have actually been started, one of which is about 10 years old. Time to get a few projects completed.

My first is a painting for my mother's birthday.

Marie -
I once, a long time ago, was making a ripple afghan from a kit and the same thing happened to me. Every time I got done with row 4 of the pattern, it was off by a number of stitches. My knitting guru was my mother, and I mailed her the pattern (yes, it was before email) and she worked with it. She figured out the error and sent me the corrections. I finished that afghan. I'm glad you found the error, too.

Yesterday I sorted thru my mending. I categorized them and placed them in piles by type and priority. I found some things that weren't important anymore (mending panties) and some stuff I just didn't want to deal with (dying stained shirts) and got rid of them. I believe I will need 6 decent sized bins to store everything in. That was an accomplishment. Now I just have to wait for DH to go out of town so I can implement my organization plan.
