Peggyann, always remember that you have many Farmgirls friends praying for you and your husband. Art is therapeutic. They teach art therapy. I was lucky to be able to use it in an art therapy program for the VA. God's blessings are new every morning. Lov. Ya.

Can anyone please recommend an easy book for me to color? Keep in mind I have poor eyesight and I think if you compared a picture I colored when I was 5 with one today (I'm 55), you wouldn't be able to tell the difference! Anyway, I have seen books at Barnes and Noble, but they are too busy and small for me. I want a book where I can relax when I color, not get a headache because of all the tiny spaces I have to squint at!

Please keep posting the pictures, they are all beautiful!
Thanks, Dawn in IL

Dawn,
I haven't seen very many of the books but I do have a few and I totally understand what you mean. The one I have that is much easier to see and color is by Karla Donacher and it's titled "Simple Blessings". I don't have much available here and have to order online. One I ordered that I would NOT recommend is titled "Color the Psalms" by Michal Sparks. It has a LOT of very tiny designs to color.

I'm going to Phoenix this next weekend and hope to do a bit of shopping with my daughter. If I see something that might work I'll let you know.
Hope this helps!

Dawn...I agree with Cj about the Karla Dornacher Color Book/Simple Blessings it is one of my
all time Favorites...there is not a bad picture page in the book. And it is NOT small repetitious
patterns. I ordered that one through Amazon. Also, a Color Book that you would love from
Barnes and Noble (it is only found in the children's dept and you will probably have to ask some one
to show you were it is... but it is an adult color book) and that is Mary Englebreits Coloring book.
Both of these Coloring books are great!!!

OK...now for a strange one that I finished last night called "Animal-morphia"/this was a free hand out
at A Barnes & Noble Coloring Event...I will never do another one because it just really wasn't my thing.

Happy Coloring,
Peggy

Thanks Peggy Ann for the recommendations. I will definitely look for the book at Barnes & Noble. I am a big fan of Mary Englebreits art.

I think your picture is beautiful & unique!

Thanks Dawn...but like you stated yourself...some pictures are just too busy and too small and
this was one of them for me. In Fact I started coloring gray over many of them in the body of
the Wolf. LOL I was so done with doing those little things!!!

coloring should be fun and relaxing,
Peggy

Dawn, I don't enjoy the small detailed pages either. One book that I found was the Art Therapy Coloring Book from Michael's. It has some finely detailed pages, but mostly has easy to color, pretty pages. I have really enjoyed it!

Robin and I went to Barnes and Noble yesterday. LOTS and LOTS of coloring books but soooooo many of them have such tiny, repetitious artwork. I saw a few that were not very artistic, at least to my taste. It seemed almost as though, because of the rage for adult coloring books, those artists decided to throw some together to sell. That particular B&N had nothing in the way of pencils or pens. Went to Hobby Lobby in the same mall and they had some pencils, but nothing in pens. I bought FOUR Prismacolor pencils in colors I didn't have . . $2.00 EACH . . OUCH! Prismacolor pencils are really nice but SOOOOOO EXPENSIVE! Mercy!

Anyway I bought the Mary Engelbreit book and Robin bought the "Secret Ocean" book. We've done some coloring together, perhaps we'll get opportunity this evening for more.
But, for now, we're off for massages! Pedicures later too!

Sometimes you can find coloring books for young children that have fun pictures to color and they are usually large and don't have too much detail.

I've finished two pages while visiting my daughter. It's been nice to sit and chat and color with her.
I'll post pics when I get back home, returning tomorrow.

My daughter and I were able to do some coloring together this week while I was visiting her in Glendale, Arizona

From the Happy Camper coloring book, these cute mice taking a bubble bath in a tea cup! Their bubbles are very, very faint pink colored

And from Mary Engelbreit's book this adorable pic of a little farmboy!

'Twas fun to color with Robin . . .hope to do it again soon!
