Hi Farmgirls,

I've always considered coloring to be therapeutic and have done that even as an adult. I have a kids coloring book in my office that I've colored in some time ago.

When I was just recently in Phoenix, visiting my daughter, Robin, we were looking at the adult coloring book selections at Michaels. Silly us, we didn't purchase any at the time but should have because we could have been coloring "together" when we were sitting and chatting.

But I stopped at the Michaels in Flagstaff on my way home for something else, looked at them again and purchased one. They are pretty detailed and it will be hard to use crayons, but coloring pencils will work well.

This is something I could do out in my glamper with a little music, cup of tea or coffee and my doggie, Bramble, by my side.

Here's the one I purchased. There is a coloring page inside of the sailboat. The colored heart is inside the back cover, but there is a coloring page for it too.

So, here we go . . . .

That is so neat, CJ. I love to doodle - and coloring is doodling within the lines that someone else already drew. LOL! I may have to go to Michaels and get me a coloring book.

There are LOTS of selections at Michaels and I'm sure that's not the only place to get them. I haven't started anything yet because I have to finish a sewing project and make three aprons for an order.

However . . . .
Too bad we all couldn't get together for a Farmgirl Coloring Party! With tea and scones!

I gotta admit, my mind went straight to the gutter when I read "adult coloring books". I'm actually relieved it wasn't a post about "that". hee hee

I love to color, too! I've been packing up the stuff in our school room (My youngest went to college 2 years ago, so I think I've had time to deal with it), anyway, I've been packing up stuff and came across coloring books and took a break in my day to color in them. Fun!

Love it! Finally, the rest of the world is catching on to what some of us knew all along. I've always loved to color!

LAUGHING OUT LOUD, Catherine!

Very cool, CJ! Wouldn't this be good for a farmgirl Chapter meet?

Oh my, Catherine! I didn't even think of that, but perhaps is because I've actually seen lots of the books! Mercy me!

Yes, Nicole, a great idea for a Farmgirl sister meet/party!

CJ...I love that Coloring Book. I will have to check it out myself. I have bought all mine through Barnes N Noble.
They must have 50 different styles. But Johanna Basfords are my favorite: Secret Garden, Enchanted Forest and her
brand new one Lost Ocean. Today one of my Farm Sisters sent me the Daphne's Diary Coloring Book too. I am very picky
about the color books I choose. I don't like a lot of Pattern Repetition on each page. Like an entire page of roses
for example. And I don't like Mandella Symbols. I like the two pictures you posted...so, I will have to check that
out. I use Colored Pencils, Water Colored Pencils/with brushes, Colored Ink Brushes, Micro-line small tipped
colored pens, Metalic Colored Pencils. But my all time favorite are the Brush Markers (set of 12) The colors are extremely
Vibrant. You can buy all these different pens and markers I listed at Barnes and Noble.

I have always colored all my life but I usually always used Crayons...so I have really expanded my horizon with all
these different kinds of media. I might use two or three different kinds on one page.

Well, Happy Adult Coloring Girls!! And Catherine, you aren't the only one who takes "Adult" Coloring in the wrong light. LOL

Hugs and Smiles,
Peggy

I'm going to have to find some different coloring pencils/pens too. I didn't go that far. And, there is no Barnes and Noble around here . . just Walmart. So we'll see. May have to see what I can find online.
I agree with you Peggy . . . and I want to find one that is Christian themed. (I was thinking I saw you post on FB about one like that)

CJ...yes, there is one you can get on-line from Margaret Feinberg (just google her name) or go through
LifeWay Ministries.

Bonnie...we All wish we could draw our own and color them!! You should be making your own coloring books
to sell...to All of your Farmgirl Sisters!! Nobody has a Farm Theme out in the Market Place that I know
of. It would be a big seller!! And no, I'm not joking!

Also Girls...I just went on Amazon and ordered Dreamscapes, Skyscapes and another one in that series...all for $18.02 and
free shipping with Prime and I will have them in two days.

We have a Michaels but it is clear across the City from where I live...so, Amazon works for me. Just thought I would share!

More Later Coloring Artists,
Peggy

Linda, We were also in JoAnns while I was visiting my daughter, but we didn't look at coloring books . . didn't even think of it. The only reason we did at Michaels is because they were right there in front of us when we walked in and that sparked interest!

I dug out my coloring pencils and started my first page today. But I need some of the pencils/pens that Peggy mentioned that are vibrant colors too! Hmmmmmm . . .

JoAnns had LOTS! Flowers, horses, animals, calming, happy, mandalas, Secret Garden, Dragons, etc. I'd say at least 25 different ones. I was looking for another book when I found them.

Don't you just hate that, CJ? I didn't get pencils or markers because I think the ones I have here might still be good. If not, I, too, will be going shopping. JoAnns had a set of 50 fine-point markers for $12.99 - and my 50% off coupon starts on Saturday. Hmmmmm - wonder where I will be going?

The Sharpie fine-tip markers do squeak and I won't use them because that gives me the willies (like fingernails on
a chalk board). But the ones Barnes and Noble Sells and probably Joannes too are Artist Markers not at all
like the Sharpies style marker. They are very pointy fine tip pens.

CJ...your are right there aren't a lot of Purple shades in Colored Pencils. So each set I buy...I look for shades
that I don't already have. Of course you will get over-lap colors but that is OK. Do you have an Art Supply
Store in your area? I'm not sure what Walmart carries...I don't think I have ever even looked there for coloring
supplies. Also, girls remember your School Basic Art Color Wheel...and you can mix your own shades that way.

We will have to keep this thread going and share as we discover new supplies and where to get them. Also, we could
post some of our favorite coloring pages and tell what Media you used. That would be fun!

Hugs and Smiles,
Peggy
