Shelia, if you find apron cookie cutters please post here ~ especially if it's on-line.

I'm super happy to report I met my first sister this past weekend. She traded me a strawberry plant for a dozen eggs. =] I've also been in contact with a sister who runs a local Chapter. We are making plans to meet up this coming weekend. With any luck, we'll be able to throw together a mini Jubiler celebration, perhaps we can work on a badge earning project together.
Have I mentioned how awesome you all are and how happy I am to be here? Farmgirl life sure is inspiring!

ok, not only did I finish my banner for the swap, but I also made a garden flag for the Farmgirl Jubilee...
several years ago, Maryjane commissioned some sweet fabric panels to use for pillows, quilts or what ever... I made several pillows as gifts, but found this last one in my fabric stash... and now it is a cute garden flag... I was able to use up bits of left over burlap, giant ric rack and of course yoyos... I am still smiling...

I just love it Grace. You rock! I used the center fabric and gave each of my hen house buddies a center for their apron. Didn't get one for me. I'm so glad some of us are using Mary Jane fabrics.

I received a promotional ad for BHG magazine today. One of the ideas was to make a banner out of mix & match paper napkins strung on a rope. It would be quick & easy to make and a good way to use up all the napkins left over from parties and holidays.
I'm thinking about making one for my front porch. To make it FarmGirl cute each napkin will be secured with a clothespin. I got about 6 weeks to look for colorful napkins on sale to add to my stash.

Grace, I love your adorable garden flag with MaryJane's Farmgirl panel. I too was gifted one of those panels as the front of a beautiful and spacious tote. Too darn cute!!
Sara, I think that idea for a paper flag banner is great! I have a cloth bunting hanging on my window in front of my desk, and I know I have some cute small paper napkins stashed away plus some small clothespins. I am going to try out that idea of hanging the napkins on the bunting like you suggested. And yes, such a banner for your front porch over the front door would be fantastic. I love the idea of changing it out for the seasons too. Thanks for sharing this idea with us!!

So many wonderful ideas, so little time!!! I love the FarmGirl panel. Maybe MaryJane would do a reprint at some point in time (hint hint). I am getting very excited about the upcoming Jubilee (yeah!!!)
Kudos and thanks to everyone for all the wonderful photos and ideas.

I am pretty excited about the Jubilee. So now I will share my ideas for celebrating the Farmgirl Jubilee. I am working on the badge and excited that a badge is offered for this!!! 1. I will put together a basket with items from my home canned pantry, an apron, some other hand made items, and the latest copy of Mary Jane's Farm and deliver it to a neighbor. 2. I will wave my flag and banner proudly and host a celebration picnic with the farmgals from our "Intown Farmgals" chapter and other invited guest. Each guest will go home with a special basket to help celebrate the jubilee.

Patty, Awesome!
Sherrilyn, I agree, I hope this fabric gets re-printed... luv it!
I am planning on making a simple bunting with pennants cut out with zigzag scissors, hang off bias tape and voila! quick easy peasy bunting.

ok, I happen to find some fabric (a shirt cut up) that was in my stash... so I decided it would be perfect for the apron in MaryJane's pattern,,, and here it is...
In true Farm girl fashion, (and like our Grammies use to do) re-purpose old clothing,,,, This was super easy and quick... I luv it!

Grace, pretty! And I love that you repurposed an old shirt for it. Would've never known if you hadn't told us.

Grace, your re-purposed shirt turned into the cutest Jubilee apron! Now it is ready for an upcoming glamping trip this summer too.
Patty, what a splendid idea of the basket gifts for the Jubilee celebration. Maybe we will get a new recruit or two "to the Farm"!
All of these ideas are so much fun and just keep the excitement building! I wish I had a private jet and could fly around to everyone's house and see all of the many flags and banners brightening our national landscape. That would be so AWESOME!!

I was reading about the Diamond Jubilee and I love the sharing with your neighbors But mostly I loved the lighting ideas. I think paper lanterns are in order with a fun potluck for our Jubilee celebration.

Sara, I still have not found apron cookie cutters, but I did pick up a cow cookie cutter and a chicken, and a lamb or sheep kind of hard to tell. I will make farm animal cookies. I don't know how to sew, but I found 2 new aprons at a thrift store can I embellish them to use on the Jubilee will that be ok, they look like some one made them but never used them. I am going to try and make a yard flag, I bought lots of glue for my hot glue gun and found some cute cloth at Joanne's. |
