Well, while I was making fall goodies in the kitchen, I pulled out some of my favorite fall decorations!!
Here is my hunt board with all of my apple decorations.
The painting comes from a Folk Artist who has a blog and Etsy Shop. Today she opened her Fall Collection so run on over to her blog and Etsy store at www.audreyeclectic.com!
I also decorated up my old stove in the kitchen to keep the spirit going.
I love fall and all of the excitement it brings! This morning we had the rare day of 68 degrees at 7am!! Of course it is way gone but what a treat!! |

Welcome Shanda :) I would love to see pics too!
Nini, let us know if you try making the roses, I'm thinking you must have Maple Trees there :)Wouldn't a Fall Leaf Swap be cool? Aspens for Maples or Oaks :)
Winnie, love the photos. I bet the 68 degrees was a nice break :) It is a treat while it lasts. We were having cooler temps until a few days ago and it has been in the 90's, yuck. I love your stove!

I love the pictures of what every one is doing for fall. I have yet to even start to figure out how to post a picture, I decided last weekend with it being officially Labor Day weekend to start to decorate the outside, mums, pumpkins, gourds, have now joined the front flower beds, and the front porch. I find that I use a lot of leaf garland, how about you? any ideas for something that is more natural? the front picture window is full with a scarecrow and fabric pumpkins. And I changed my inside candle scents to the fall ones, Smells like fall, starting to look like fall.

Autumn is my favorite season too. I love all the russet, gold, yellow and oranges of the leaves. Against the sky they make it seem all the bluer. My living and dining rooms are sort of a sunflower yellow and my curtains are in ombre shades of gold, brown and orange. I add candles in autumn shades and orange flowers as well as a wreath done in orange and reds. My afghans are in Autumn colors also. I like to get a simmer pot with cinnamon sticks, whole cloves and orange peel going to bring some lovely scents to the rooms. Outside on my front porch I'll have my 3 ft. tall ceramic scarecrow with pumpkins. I like to add some mums too. I usually toss a stadium blanket over my country rocker to finish it off.

I love all of these entries about how fall unfolds in your homes! The decorating, recipes and photos are fabulous! For all of us with the "Fall Obsession" , these MJF topics are so perfect for gathering new ideas and motivating us to join in. September is such a transition month here in the South. We are still under the influence of tropical heat and humidity, BUT, the Jet Stream is dipping further and further south and changing the patterns little by little. Plus, the days are getting shorter and the reduced sunlight is signaling those deciduous trees to pull back on making chlorophyll resulting in the beginnings of the color pigments coming forth. We can see the changes in the local Dogwood trees. Their red berries are ripening and slowly, there are yellow leaves forming and the general deep green of summer is fading. The Dogwoods are the sign that I watch closely because they read like a book about how Fall is coming and Summer is leaving no matter how darn hot it is!!
Speaking of fall scents, I have been burning my Yankee Candles all day long recently. Currently, I finished up the new Yankee scent KItchen Spice, almost finished last years' Pumpkin Apple, and finished up a new soy candle, Cider Mill! I have some smaller candles to finish up but at this rate, I will be out seeking new ones in about a week! LOL! I love the cinnamon spicy scents and now that I am retired, I can enjoy the fragrance all day long if I choose!! I know girls............I am obsessed!!!
Looking forward to all of the posts that will be happening as others get time to post and share photos!
Happy Fall, Y'All!!

Sharon- Are your photos too big? Try resizing them smaller and see if that solves the problem. That usually works for me when I am having issues.
Yesterday, I went out and purchased the Yankee Candle scent "Harvest". Gotta have the ambiance as the temps rage on in the low 90s!!

I saw a stack of pumpkins caved like tiki statue faces that looked amazing and fun that I may try. It's so windy here and often so rainy that it's really hard to have outside decor that doesn't just blow over or away. Inside I like to use nature to decorate with, bowls of acorns and rose hips, small pine cones...I made an autumn leaf garland once and want to try it again this year. You just dip the leaves in melted wax or pain it on and dry them on sheets of waxed paper tie little thread or thing twine loops on the stems and string them so that they have space between them to dangle LOTS of candles, bowls of apples. I have a heavy crochet lace table cloth that always comes out in autumn too. I love to bring autumnal flowers in but my cats always eat them, so that isn't worth the struggle to fend them off. I want to go get a lot of cinnamon and make some ginger bread men and orange pomanders to hang around the house and some for the Christmas tree later. I love spicy smells! A gf made some last year and her house smelled heavenly!

I love Fall, too. Arttie, I love the pine cone lamp.. My house is real cabin like also. And my colors are the oranges, greens, yellows, reds, so it is like having Fall all year round. I decorate with pine cones, acorns, and leaves. And I cook lots of pumpkin stuff. So enjoy this web site.

I forgot to tell you. In the fall, my sister cuts silk Fall flowers dips them in in her melted glycerine soap and when they dry we put them in the guest bath for people to wash their hands with. They are pretty and festive. Linda

Linda, the soap flowers sound cute. Have you tried making them with Fall leaves instead of flowers?
Connie, I am going to check out that website :)

I am loving this cool weather! We have all the windows open, all day and night. Gets down to low 50s outside, we just throw on a warm quilt and enjoy the breeze! Here is a table topper I made using a tunisian crochet hook, I really like how it turned out. The blue is a bit bright, but it brings in a little pop of color with all my orange-y stuff!
Enjoy fall y'all! Blessings
