Denise, When I see how nice and neat then I feel like I want to do other things. I also do the 15 minutes or so. I think it doesn't seem such a task when you do that . I am trying to maximize my time better. Its a start!

Yard work is in store today. I really should stake a goat out front, the grass is that tall. The mower has two bad tires, so I can't even mow until I get those replace, but the weather is so warm here today.

I have cabbage plants to get in my garden, along with potatoes. I'm hoping to get some of that done today after jelly making.

Mary~ I saw that quote somewhere and it reminds me every time I see it to try and do better in this area of my life.
Marlee and Lori~ 15-20 increments is do-able for me and I actually find myself working a little faster so I am able to get more done in that time. It's like beat the clock or something.

Finishing up in the spare room and getting the last two loads of laundry on the line.
Enjoy your day!

My game is the Rule of 10.. when I am short on time (More likely short on motivation) I use this Rule. I am REQUIRED to put 10 things back where they belong. Usually I am a little pumped by then and do twice 10.. but the results is the same.

Stuff gets put up and the place looks neater! YEAH !

House is trashed after camping trip. Stuff everwhere. Emptied out travel trailer. Am overwhelmed. Don't know where to start. I think I need hip waiters and a shovel. My DH suggested a front-end loader. There is always a comedienne in the bunch!

LOL! Mary, sometimes I threaten to go through this place with a front loader when everyone has just dropped things where they don't belong. But I know what you mean about the 10 things. It seems easier when I trick my mind into making my body get up and do things.

Lori,
I like your tag lines.

I love the "10" thing rule. I may have to use that too. Thanks for sharing it.

I'm not deep cleaning today, but need to mow, and plant. It's Sunday too. I have no motivation today.

I still have to clean and organize the remainder of my craft/bedroom closet.

Today is my day that I don't do anything but the cooking. And little of that if possible. Usually crock pot on Sundays. But tomorrow, that is a different story. I will hopefully get dh's office cleaned out because we need that room for my dad to use when he comes to visit/stay.
SO I imagine myself waking up full of vim and vigor to get it done! I may get stalled as I am meeting a friend for coffee mid morning so hope I can get back to it once I have interrupted my time.

Denise, I recently tried a crock pot mac n' cheese and loved it. It only cooks for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, but it saves me so much time around the dinner hour.

I am not doing much of my deep cleaning today, but the girls are cleaning the mildew off their window upstairs later today.

I have gardening, laundry, dishes, bathroom, floors, etc. today. Gardening and laundry is at the top of the list. Then there rest will get done, as time allows. I still need to get the light fixtures down and wash the dust and bugs off of them. I keep dragging my feet on this.

May 9th - cleaning update
Disinfected 3 plastic drawer organizers in a bathroom drawer, and wiped out the bottom and sides.

Next - dusting off the shelf on the kitchen hutch.

Other than that, regular housework. I'm feeling sickly today, so I'm taking it easy. It could be allergies too.

Awesome!

With gardening season, I am trying to take the indoor work in small amounts of time. It may take me all summer too, but it will get done.

I am changing my routine, so I get up extra early, start with outdoor work before breakfast, check animal water/feed etc., then come in eat, shower, and start on indoor. Today I made it in before 10am, and I wasn't trying to beat the clock either.

I messed up last night. I forgot my 19 yo dd was working late, and didn't have someone change their dish night. I have a mess in my kitchen before I can even start anything.

Count me in on this too--I'm working on our mudroom, and will then tackle the sewing room. Made a pledge to myself this year that I would not buy any new fabric until I made a significant dent in my current stash, and have stuck to it! Have 5 quilt tops waiting to be layered and stitched, and make weekly trips to the local thrift store to pass along use-able goodies I just haven't touched in more than a year. Feels good, but still overwhelming. Funny--it's just me and my husband. How the heck did two people accumulate so much STUFF??

Well, today was puttering in the flower gardens and getting them in order. Did get some cleaning done. Mostly moving things around as we seek to add my dad to our household and want to accommodate his needs. Now that we worked on that tomorrow is regular cleaning. I did manage to get the laundry caught up.

I'm also making a commitment to have the dishes done every morning from the previous night's meal, so that when I come home from work, the kitchen looks more clutter-free. Sure is good for morale...:)

Sometimes, I set the table for dinner before I head out to work--it lets my husband know that I'm looking forward to spending time with him at the end of a busy day. I just love him so much.

Working in the house today. Getting laundry caught up, dishes done, normal chores with a project or two thrown in. House is a little of out order due to a bathroom upgrade.
The sun is shining so that has given me a bit of the energy I need today.

My husband installed a new water softener in our mudroom/laundry room, so had to clean it stem to stern so he had room to work.

Now I don't want to put anything back it--it looks so UNCLUTTERED!! I'm sure you all know that feeling...

Will clean out the barn up top by the house tomorrow morning to get ready for new chicks arriving at the end of June.

Just plan feels good to see some traction on these projects...:)
