Thanks so much Teri. That was a very helpful site. I did try the solution, now I am still checking for more mold. So far, so good. Haven't spotted any more yet. I think it worked!!!!!!

I have used the tea tree oil spray as well. We get that mold on the windows every winter too.

Linda: there is a product called Sym-away. It is the best I have found for mold. I'm not sure on the spelling, but you can google it. Good luck removing the mold, that is a hard job.

Marly, I googled it and it is zyme away. I had never heard of this product. So thanks!! I tried tea tree oil and vinegar. I'll see how that does. If it didn't do the trick, I may tackle this with the zyme away. And yes, mold is icky!!!!!!!

Linda: We were flooded twice, from hurricanes. We had mold every where. That zyme away was the only thing that really worked. Some areas I had to go over and over with the zyme away, but it sure did the job. Good luck.

Here's an update....no more new mold so far!!!! I am so glad-I hate the nasty stuff. Tree tea oil did a good job here. I guess my case of mold was a light one? Nothing like you had, Marly, I'm sure. I will keep that product in mind if I get any worse cases..Thanks girls!

Nano silver is also excellent for killing mold (among other things)

I used borax soultion to wash mold off a bathroom ceiling. 1/4 cup borax to 1 quart of hot water. I put it in sprayer bottle.

It is also supposed to inhibit mold growth. So far so good.

So many good ideas that seem to work, I will have to keep them in mind if I find any mold when we start our remodel/addition to the house. I hear borax is used for so many things. I bought my first box the other day so I'll be putting a lot of things to the test. Mwhahahaha! *cough cough* hi :)

Ahh Yes! MOLD!! I have a bad case of the fuzzy green stuff on all my antiques that were in storage :( a few things I was able to save, others, like the paper things, I had to throw away. We think it is because of all the moisture in the air, because we have had so much rain down here in South Carolina where I live. I think we need to resort to a moisture controlled inviroment!! Anyone have a tip on how I can get it off the paper....and will this stuff harm us if we aren't wearing a mask??

Vinegar works well for cleaning it off but I don't know how long it keeps it from coming back.
