For the next two months I am going to update our extreme clean, and hold this thread for encouragement for any farmgirls struggling to get their "spring" cleaning done. It doesn't have to be "spring" cleaning either. I can be a gigantic pile of unread magazines you can't find time to go through,or that gigantic pile of printed recipes you can't seem to try out.

Anyone want to join in? I don't have farmgirls close enough to form a group of women to go house to house, so I thought I could post here for a positive encouragement for progress with whatever you need finished.

I wrote up my own list for cleaning, and each member of my family gets to pick and choose their jobs.

We have already completed the clean up in the utility room, and porches, but have more to do.

On the list next for me, is cleaning off the outside of the fridge. It's cluttered with coupons, notes, and just plain junk. I'll be back to post when it's done.

Photos are optional.

I'll join you Kristina. I'm really in th mood because we've been having snow and can't do much outside any way. I cleaned out stuff yesterday and it's in the back of the car ready for a trip to the thrift store.

I'll join you Kristina. I have a house that needs a complete overhaul from the inside out and I have just created a poster board with all the projects to be completed by myself and my husband. We have a little basket sitting next to the TV so as we finish a project the little marker is removed and tossed into the basket. Most of what is in store for the next month is painting my entire house and updating my cabinets. Then as I go from room to room, I plan on doing a through cleaning, of the stuff that needs to go and organizing the stuff that remains.

May the stars carry your sadness away. May the flowers fill your heart with beauty, and may hope forever wipe away your tears. Becky #4932

Count me in. I started before Spring but for me it is an ongoing process. I have taken boxes and boxes of things to the thrift. I have to love it or it isn't staying here to take up space anymore.

I would love to join you all! I am slowly starting to overhaul my house. I am tired of clutter and things I don't love. I have two rooms done in my basement and I am working on the main floor of the house now. I like the idea of a list. I am going to start working on a list so it doesn't seem so overwhelming!

Blessings,

I am on a cleaning, dejunking kick. I have tossed out, given away, and sold alot of things. I want to get to a place where I know everything I have and where it is. I guess I am getting old. I have been working on this for a few years and I am finally getting close.

Laura, that is exactly how I feel and think about it. I want to know what I have and where it is.

I did de-clutter the outside of the fridge, but that's as far as I got. Maybe cleaning something today will do me some good today.

My biggest issue is bringing in as much as I throw out. It takes alot of willpower to say no when I go junking with my friend.

I agree. I recently bought 3 books at the library books sale. When I do that, I try to give away the amount I take in.

Today it's regular chores, along with spring garden planting. I still need to clean the windows. Then I am washing all the heavy bedding and such.

Cleaning out the fridge (how does it get so messy in there?) and working in the office today to de-clutter some things in there.

Well for my first project was to go through all the papers piled up on my desk. I could not believe how much was there. I am down to one little pile left. It will have to wait until school is over since some of it is homework for me to study for my finals next week.

Denise, I know what you mean about the fridge. Things fall out when the kids open the door, ha ha ha!

Rebecca, I have a desk of papers waiting for me too. Good to hear you got most of it done.

I finished all the laundry, washed bedding and re-made the bed. I have half of the laundry down and folded too. Chickens are out, and I untangled our buck who got loose and tied up into the old horse fencing (smelly guy tired to rub his head all over me in the process). I planted 15 tulips, and 8 hyacinths, and am heading out later to turn over the garden (enough to at least plant peas). I may have time to start cleaning mildew on the windows next.

I finished cleaning the fridge, didn't get anywhere near either office. I started menu planning and got stuck in make ahead meal mode so I worked on my shopping list. Finished laundry. Oh well at least things are getting done, even if they aren't what I had planned. A day of getting something done is a good day in my book! \

Yes, anything done is great!
We got peas planted late last night. Not sure if I will have time to attack the extreme clean list today. I may need a push later this week.

Kristina,
I have a room that I need to get into and start cleaning and organizing. It is so bad that I just shut the door until I can get the kick start to go in there. I work best under pressure and that is probably how it will get done.

Just start out with a small job Lori. Don't overwhelm yourself. If you do things in 15 minute increments instead one whole big job it seems to help too. I just make sure I get one thing in addition to my regular stuff done each day.

I got all those curtains back up in the windows and on doors now.
I even did some dinner prep.

You are definitely a busy bee today Kristina! Good for you. I did a little cleaning. I keep putting off the dreaded room but I worked on getting some freezer meals done today. That way I can work on that room after I've thrown dinner in the crock pot. I won't have any excuses for not working on it. LOL!

I wish I could do freezer meals here, but there is never room in the freezer for it. A larger freezer is on my wish list too.
I love my crock pot.

I don't know if I will get much done today yet. If I do, I'll post. I am dreading the clean up of my bedroom closet. It's a walk-in, but my crafting supplies are stored in there and it's becoming to where I can't see the floor. Ha ha ha! Like you Denise, I am putting off to last I think.

Oh I have to join this, I am so far behind on everything. And truthfully I don't know how it happened. My house is cluttered but its time to clear it out. All the clutter is blocking my peace of mind and brain. Does anyone else fell that way.

That is exactly why I need to declutter, deep clean, and re-organize. It makes me feel off balance, when it's a mess or I can't find anything.

I did get one more window washed down, and mildew removed. I, however, added a few more "to-do's" to my deep clean list. I already have one daughter willing to tackle one of the jobs. Yay!

I need to spend 15 minutes a day in my own bedroom. Getting yarn out for making items for the farmer's market has gotten out of control in there, ha ha!

The boots are getting put back in the tote today also.

How is everyone else doing today?
