Wow! Today, I received the cutest and most interesting swap present from Becky Messer in Ohio. It was a precious Uncle Sam, about 14 inches tall, that can hang outside and twirl around, be hung on the door (which is what I did),etc. He is too precious--long and skinny and holding the flag---wearing his hat. Adorable!!!! And, best of all, Becky made him from a gourd! She hand-painted him, too, and he looks just like Uncle Sam. Becky is a retired educator and started painting gourds 12 years ago and is involved with her sister in a U-Cut Flower business. They are called Blossoms at the Bend. This was her first swap and I am the proud recipient! It arrived in perfect shape, too, Becky. I am not good at posting pics, so when my husband gets back from out-of-state, I will see if he can post one for me! Becky, yours will be on its way by the end of this week. I am almost finished with all the goodies.

Connie! I love the picture AND the cards! Such treasures! Stay as close to them as possible! ;) And your porch swing and kitty! LOVE them!!!
Maddie! I want to adopt a soldier, too! SO cool! Thank you!!!
My box is ready to go! Hope to get to the Post Office when the guys get home from work tomorrow!!! YAY!

I love the pictures and stories. I love The USA and all that includes even the taxes. Once you have traveled outside you realize how great we have it here. I cry when I see any pictures of our troops what a sacrifice these men, women and their families are making and have made through out the years to make available the quality of life that we are so blessed with.

lOVE THAT ADOPT A SOILDER!! Thank you! My cinder and I swing a lot in that ole swing! Portia, I do live in West Tennessee, the flat part, not the beautiufl East Tennessee, where the Mountains are! but lucky enough to live on 3 acres of woods and away from the city! We finally finished painting the kitchen and cinder popped out to see why her box was moving, she goes there to take a nap, away from the other cats!

Thank you Winnie! yours may be there by Friday or Saturday! I finally finished painting my kitchen and got my Poster dry mounted, and hung, it is a reproduction poster of a 1954 painting of Our flag.

Maddie (fille de ferme) is my 4th of July Patriotic Swap Partner. What a lovely lady Maddie is and so talented too. First, as y'all know she has a wonderful Son in the Air Force but she is also a Soldier Angel to many other soldiers out there. How Blessed are all of them to have Maddie in their lives, I would say she and all of them are very Blessed. She loves dogs too:-) Thank you Maddie for sharing part of yourself with me, I choose to keep the other things I know about Maddie to myself.
She sent me some beautiful treasures, 3 she made herself. She made me a Freedom Angel, it is so sweet, she painted a folk art theme picture with the sheep, tree and farmhouse in the background, I love folk art. Then she painted to patriotic Bear dressed for a party holding a flag, I love and collect Bears so this is perfect as well. I love that Maddie made and painted these treasures herself for me, I will treasure them always. I got Butter Cream Candies, two folk art wood flags, a red, white and blue padded heart, a flashing star bracelet, a glow stick Patriotic Floral Necklace, I have never seen one of these, a pin that says We Love America, a Patriot Pride Scarf, Yellow Gel Ribbons, I will put one in my car and one on my mirror in my bathroom. And of course she made me a real sweet 4th of July Card. So, I am all ready for my favorite holiday with lots of Red, White and Blue. Thank you so very much Maddie for your thoughtfulness and being my 4th of July Swap Partner, you are very special.
