Hello everyone!

I am so happy to say I have completed my exercise routine for the entire week. No shortcuts at all!! Yea, Me!

OK, enough patting myself on the back. How is everyone else doing?

Alexis, I sure hope your eye is doing well. I bet you will enjoy that trampoline. No impact on your joints - or at least less impact.

And Alee, jump on that scale. You KNOW you have broken through the ten pound level! Congratulations girl!

Kathy, sorry your knee is bugging you. They can sure sideline you for quite a while.

Hope we hear from Kristina soon. I know she has been busy starting up a home business.

I know I shouldn't have, but I spent about 4 hours in my garden yesterday...cleaning up after the rain, planting bell peppers & tomatoes & marigolds. Now my knee is really hurting. I wish it would just go away. I love walking with my doggies, but I can't go as far as I used to or do as much as I used to.

I'm sorry I'm such a downer. I'll probably feel better tomorrow, so just ignore my little pity party.

Hugs and Squishies!!

Hey Kathy!
I thought I would RSVP to the pity party with my reply of: My hips are killing me!

Doesn't it really bite getting older and less sturdy than we used to be. Hopefully, tomorrow the rain will be gone and so will the aches!!

You ladies are doing awesome! Anymovement is great! Last week I rode Tala and for the next several days I was in serious pain, but I know that is a good indication that I am strengthening muscles that have long since gone to jelly! I subscribe to the idea of "Use it or Lose it" I am in the process of finding "it" again! LOL

You ladies inspired me! Last night I did about 15 minutes hard workout on the eliptical about an hour before bed. I need to start doing that more often since it completly wiped me out! :)

Alee, congratulations on breaking through the 10 lb. level. You are about to seriously start counting down on your weight loss goal. So great! The eliptical is quite a work out. When I did physical therapy a number of years ago, they had me do it without holding on to the handles to strengthen my core. Sheesh. I had never been on one before and the minute I mastered it - which was many minutes into the session - they told me to go backwards. Talk about learning to walk and chew gum ...

My muscles ache, but I got 4 hours of cleaning my garden, pulling weeds, planting and mulching before the rain chased me out.

I tried the gym route, but just didn't like showing all my jiggly parts off to strangers and they have work out equipment I've never even heard of before. I'd rather stick with walking my doggies, working in the garden or playing with my Star Wars game. I can dance with Princess Leia, or be a giant crazed beast destroying towns & eating droids and storm troopers!! Really works up a sweat believe me. Of course, when I do too much at my age and condition.....It really take a tole.

Ok. I was just checking in with movement for yesterday, so later sisters. Keep up all your good work.

Hugs and Squishies!!

Wow..is everybody sleeping or just out walking??

Yesterday I only got in 2 hours of movement. Knees just would know let me do more.

Today, went out to a heritage garden sale. Picked up a couple of heritage tomato plants to add to my garden. These will be yellow with red stripes. They tell me the taste is a bit sweeter than regular red tomatoes.

Also picked up a couple of flowers - Tickweed & Bee Balm. Also a couple of tiny rock/moss plants for that rocky place under my red maple where nothing else grows except rocks.

Supposed to rain late tonight, but before that, the moon is supposed to be at it's biggest tonight. I may sit outside tonight just to watch it.

Later sisters!

Only got in a couple of hours in the garden on Saturday. I wanted to start planting my butternut squash plants, but won't be able to do much this morning. Body really aches today. Don't know why...I didn't over do anything that I can think of. I re-potted herbs, moved them to their summer places, gave them all haircuts & dried all the trimmings. That's not strenuous. Is it?
Well anyway. Happy Monday!!

Kathy, sure hope your achiness is short-lived! I have often thought I would go crazy if I tried to figure out why I hurt some days and not others ...

We have had nice weather for three days now. Did some gardening yesterday and apparently stopped before I did major damage to myself!!

Hope everyone is staying on course and celebrating hitting their goals!

Well this is really silly, but our local ice cream specialty shop was giving away free ice cream lst weekend. I went TWICE, once with my husband and once with my good friend. I had 2 scoops with hot fudge both times. Yup I pigged out. Plus I ate some chocolate another time this week. But somehow at the end of the week I still lost 2 pounds! Go figure! I have started using my trampoline, the eyedoctor gave me the go ahead, its lots of fun to dance to the music on there.
good for rainy weeks like this one.

Well after severasl months of a pinched in my back and nerve pain in my legs. Im finally getting back in the swing of this whole exercise thing. I walked about mile yesterday. Several times up and down the stairs. I just keep moving even if slow. Very hard at times. Hoping to move alittle more each day. Tomorrow is my day off and want to pull some weeds in my herbs garden. Then sort more boxes. Which will mean up and down the stairs.

RuthAnn - you keep moving, sister. Everything counts. I go up and down stairs several times a day just to be able to say I can still go up and down stairs!! Altho, I have to admit, with my knees acting up like they've been doing, I have crawled up on hands and feet a couple of times.

Ruthie - keep it up but go slowly. We don't want to aggravate that pinched nerve. Just move just a little more every day. You know your own body and what it'll take. (look at me, giving advise on moving!!!)

Alexix - Ice Cream? With hot fudge??? Did you bring enough to share? Sssshhhhhh. Nobody has to know!!

Alee - congrats on meeting your first goal. On to the rest, right. A little at a time.

Well, I'm off to my garden. Squash and potatoes are calling.

Later sisters.

Hugs and Squishies!!

Ha ha ha ha!

Right now I have baggy t-shirts that are getting too big. I'll be passing them on to someone, donating them, or making a rug with them. Can't wait for a "real" nice workout outfit.

Kristina,
You will feel so much better in a pretty well-fitting workout outfit. I know you will have it soon. That is great motivation.

I have been moving more with gardening season upon us. Also, making a couple canines really happy with jaunts in the fields. I love to watch them run. Been keeping up with my physical therapy exercises. So I declare I am ON TRACK. Yea, me! (Don't want to break my arm patting myself on the back.)

Kathy, the achy knees are annoying aren't they? You wonder if you should do more or less. But, I agree, once you stop you are done! Keep at it, gf.

You, too, Ruth. Everything in moderation.

You know what? After all the gardening, after all the doggie walking, after all the housework - ugh - with the weather getting better, my knees are finally starting to feel better.

I'll tell you, this winter, I was using a cane to walk around, with a knee brace, and when we went to a big store, I always got a wheelchair. It was really bad. But, as I said, warmer weather makes it feel better. Moving more helps too.

I told my husband, we'd better move to Arizona to my poor aching joints wouldn't hurt from all the bad weather we get here in Maryland. He didn't even laugh.

Keep moving everybody & congratulations on all your losses!!

Later sisters.

I am still moving but some might call it slow!!

I am rolling BALLS today and doing some housework, laundry and need to get into the garden this evening.

It is great to hear of all the accomplishments of all you ladies. I am going to have to get on the ball and start being more consistant with my moving.

Keep on going gals!

Kim, thanks for your encouragement. Don't be discouraged yourself. Everyone has their ups and downs. Moving slowly counts!

Kathy, We talk about getting away from the weather for health's sake, too. It is tempting. I would miss so much about the four seasons, though. How about you?

I would move away from here in a heart beat, believe me, I would not miss Maryland at all. Southern Utah/Colorado, Northern New Mexico/Arizona -- somewhere around the four corners area. The weather there is drier, no humidity. Rain, yes, but not as cold as here.

If it were possible I would sell everything here, and I'd be there tomorrow. Of course, I'd have to convince my husband - well, that's never going to happen. He has family ties here. Or thinks he does. I thought that after his parents died, he'd have less 'need' to stay in Maryland.

He could get a computer geek job anywhere, so that's not the issue. He says we could never afford to move - the housing issue, the kids are here, bla, bla, bla...

Anyway, I've already told him that if he dies first, I would sell everything and leave. I've hated Maryland for the whole 20 years I've lived here. That's why my garden is so important to me. I can forget I'm in Maryland when I'm in my garden.

Enough rambling. Going to bed now.

Later sisters.

Got my first bike ride in yesterday. Despite being slightly congested, I did a 5 mile bike ride (after 35 minutes of treadmill walking). Boy it felt good. Me and the open country road. No cars yesterday either. Just one farmer hauling a load of straw, who passed me twice. Peace and quiet, exercise and a good time with nature.

Not sure if I will get a ride in today or not. I need to water then entire garden (what's been planted). Well see I guess.
