I hope everyone is doing well....I am not exercising today. Hubby brought home a "bug" and I caught it (again). I plan to rest, rest, rest, and get rid of it.

Oh Kristina, I hope it passes quickly. I hate being sick!
marianne

How is everybody else doing? My hubby is traveling for work and went to an El Torito for dinner last night. He thought he'dv have something small ... chicken nachos. They had the calories on the menu...1400 cal.! He chose two chicken soft tacos for 160 calories a piece. What a difference.

I didn't get my walking in today yet but I have dropped 2 lbs since I started again. I am using WW online so I can keep track of my eating. Have been drinking more water lately too.

We are doing a bit better today. I am still putting the immune oil drops in a pan of water on my wood stove - phew!

It's been such a battle this year.

Yay! Denise that's great!

The kids won't like it, but I am adding broccoli to our dinner menu tonight.

I haven't lost anymore than the first 10 lbs. so far. I know it will be harder this time, but I plan to stick with it. I can't allow my immune system to falter like it did this year. I'm sure it was from lack of exercise and carrying extra weight I should not be.

Heading to the gym with hubby! It's snowing here today, and I really need to get out of the house.

Have a great day farmgirls!

My son is pulling my youngest dd around on a sled, by pulling with his waist - he's getting exercise too!

Good for you Kristina! Getting out to the gym is a great way to beat the winter blahs and blues.

Not only did we go to the gym (even with two kids), but we came home and split and hauled wood. We slept like babies.

We may go to the gym again today. Getting fresh air helped my sinus situation too.

...now I just wish more pounds would fall off - ha ha ha!

I didn't want to do it, but I did (we did). Even Tiger, my 10 yo's cat, was confused when I turned on the lights at 4:30am this morning. We did it....phew! We had our 5am workout and came home and made an egg dish with spinach. The kids would have gotten a homemade breakfast too, but they didn't do their chores and my kitchen is a disaster. I think I need to make some changes in that area. The teens want to stay up after I go to bed, and it doesn't work for us.

I still have congestion, but as I worked out, my breathing cleared a bit. I wish my ear would clear up. Hmpf.

Hope you all are doing well.

Kristina,
Congratulations! You are sticking to it so great!! You will be seeing results without a doubt. In the meantime, just ride that "I did it" high as long as you can! Good going!

I'm still battling this ear and sinus issues, so I took an antihistamine last night. Needless to say, we missed our workout early this morning. However, I did walk 40 minutes on the treadmill. I asked dh to pick me up another antihistamine that is non-drowsy now. I may have to go back to the doctor, but will try this first.

Ooof - after 2 weeks straight of every day walks I missed three days in a row. Makes me realize how vital being outdoors and getting exercise is to my mental health - hoping that the temperature rises enough to eliminate the skating rink effect that the melting snow had on the streets last night. I got home just after sunset, and while there was still light, it was too slippery to walk. Bummer!!

I'm with you. I hate walking all hunched up trying to keep my balance!! I was off to a pretty good go of it, too. But, I have missed two days of exercise. There's always tomorrow!

Kristina, you seem to be staying the course really well. Hope the sinuses are easing up for you.

We did miss the gym workout the last two mornings, but I still walk. I went back to the doctor and found out I have an ear infection and sinus infection. I may go tonight if hubby doesn't work late.

I can say, I made a new Mac' n' cheese dish (link on my blog) that we all loved. Very simple and healthier than cheesy Mac'n' cheese.

Amy Grace, when it's too icy to walk outside, I use the Leslie Sansone DVDs. They are definitely not as good as walking outside, but at least I do something. She does the same stuff in all her DVDs, so I'm to the point now where sometimes I just do the same movements while I'm watching TV. I also have a step and incorporate that if I'm feeling energetic. Otherwise, it seems like it can be weeks of those slippery sidewalks and roads. I love the weekends when I can actually walk when it is light outside.

Well farmgirls...
Hubby is sick now. I am urging him to see a doctor. We are skipping the gym workout for the rest of the week (bummer, but we both could use the rest to rebuild good cells etc).
Hope you are all doing well, and staying healthy.

Well, we just keep see-sawing back and forth. First I miss my exercise, then your husband gets sick... All in all, Kristina, we are doing just fine!!

I hope our other farmgirls are keeping up pretty well, too. Everyone knew this would be an everyday effort, but sheesh when we get into it, it can be a drag, huh!

Love ya guys, keep your chins up

I have been slowly improving my elliptical trainer time, up to 22 minutes with some resistance. Last night played in a pool with the kids but did get lots of treading water time in while spotting jumping in for them. I am down 4 pounds which is just under one quarter of my goal. I think the 25% there sounds nice and encouraging to me. Definately watching my diet too although there are some bad days for that too.

Hubby was seen by a doctor - upper respiratory infection. He's on antibiotics now, so I hope to return to the gym on Monday. We are getting so frustrated, but keep plugging along.

Kristina,
Hope everything clears up quickly now with the antibiotics. You really are doing great wwith all the setbacks you have had!

Emily! 25% is awesome. I agree it sounds so much better. You have a fairly small amount to lose (good for you). Do you feel better and do you notice your clothes fitting differently? Carry on farmgirl!

Yesterday was dh birthday ... do I need to let you know there is chocolate cake in the frig? Haven't had any!!

Hi Brenda and Paula! Jump right in. I haven't been doing much on the treadmill lately but I walk a lot at work and I am watching what I am eating. Still using WW online. I am down 3.8 lbs so far. Slow going but that is the best way I think. Well, I hope anyway. Tomorrow is weigh in day so we shall see how it is going for sure!
