Many of the places here reflect English, German or native origin. Then there is Scalp Level in Cambria county, and Wyoming was here first.....

Man it took me all day to remember this one.....Puckerbrush, Nev. My late dh, being a truck driver all his life used to call me from Puckerbrush once in awhile, I'd always say "yeah, right".....as he always referred to places in the middle of nowhere as "puckerbrush", always just thought he was teasing me. Then on one trip I made with him, we were out in the middle of nowhere and drove into Puckerbrush, Nev.! We laughed about that for alot of years!!

Hey Tasha-Rose, I have relatives who grew up in Day, MN! I've always thought it was a silly name for a town too! I'm going to visit someday when I'm in MN.

How about Stuck, Zillah, Index, Spangle, Chuckanut, and Concrete WA? My favorite all time wierd name in this state is the Poo Poo Point Trail at the Cougar Mountain Regional Park in Issaquah. What were they thinking when they named that one?

Cheers! ~ Marilyn
