yes, that will be a party week! wish we could all get together and celebrate the girls birthdays, my "girl" will be 23! and i understand her husband will be home from afghanistan for 2 weeks so they can celebrate their birthdays. he is also a november birthday.
all the november birthdays just in our family are me, my dh, my mother in law , my daughter, my son in law.
whoa!
i think by now nance in france should have seen her package so i think tonite i will post her pics. i am sending a package to gloria g, and i have an apron for nancy jo, and then the swap that i am in the middle of.
i have also wondered about rhonda's friend who was gonna make a journal, i wonder if she has done that yet?
well i have to go cook supper, tonight i will post nance in france's pic and if rhonda hasnt responded about the journal i will email her and see if her friend made one yet.

ok,
i am trying to post nance from franc's package. i think she has seen it by now, i hope.

of course when i check out the pic i see a little yellow object right in the middle of the heart, and i think oh my goodness, did i send that to nance without sewing the heart on. did i get so use to seeing the PIN in that heart that in my mind it was already finished. i can be such a dingbat.
oh well, i hope nance will let me know if i did that and if i should send her another that is actually FINISHED. now i'm a little worried.

i editted the pic, i made it smaller, any who the little pansy pincushion is about the size of , oh its about 2" across.

tasha,
thanks so much, i dont think the farmgirls will ever know how much all their encouragement has meant to me. i love doing the crafts so much and i havent really done that much until recently. i hope to build up a back log so that i can sell some here at farm or occasionally participate in a craft show.
i keep thinking i want to do an etsy site but the whole thing about the payment and the credit card just boggles my mind. i know that sounds stupid but as my kids say,"we'd have to get mom into the 20th century before we will be able to drag her into the 21st"
thanks again for the encouragement and support. i love my farmgirl sisters!

frannie,
Love seeing your crafts, you sure have been busy. I think the pin left in the pin cushion is very funny, nance in france will think so too.I think nance is in the states now with her family for a long visit. Hope she keeps in touch while here.
Your doing fine with your picture posting, notice how I have no pictures posted, so see you are doing great.

I think I have to agree with Nancy Jo, the pin is cute and funny! We creative types get so hairbrained at times with all tht we do that we forget things like that.....it's cute and I bet if you did indeed leave it there, that nance loves it the way it is.....

i hope she does. and i hope she is having a great reunion at home.
it is so funny, i miss the farmgirls when they are away for a while. i havent been concerned about nance cause i knew she was making the trip, but when one of the farmgirl pals is absent too long i start to worry what could have happened. i guess like we used to worry about our neighbors.
i have been here at the farm and i do not know one of my neighbors. and i f something happened here no one would be able to tell from the street that anything occurred cause you really cant see the house from the road.
well i guess sweetie-sweet and cosmo the wonder dog would just have to tend to me until dh got home. but i guess in a way you farmgirls have become my neighbors.

Howdy, gal pals! Yep, I made it back to Norfolk at midnight last Tuesday; my luggage obviously decided to take a later flight because it had to be delivered to my house the next afternoon........must've been that weapon-of-mass-destruction toothpaste I was packing! Today is the first beautifully sunny day since my return...had a nor'easter blow through last Friday and had some flooding too. Bought my first few pansies this afternoon at Lowes.....these are just to tide me over til a few of my girlfriends, my mom, and I go pansy shopping for real on Sunday afternoon!!! It is an annual outing that I cooked up a few years ago, but I just had to sneak a few in today.

I feel jipped now that I have read this thread and see that Fran removed the pin before packing my box of goodies; and as anybody can attest who has bought some of Fran's fantasies, they are absolutely lovely. I am going to force myself to gift two of the acorns for Christmas presents..... but the rest is MINE ALL MINE! Missed my daily dose of farmgirl friends chat, so hopefully I can log on every day or two and keep up with everybody. Love ya'll, Nance back from France

Well there you are Nance, glad you made it home safe and sound, or at least safe. We missed you, I wasn't sure if you were going to ring us up while in the states or wait till you were back in France.
HEY thanks for my postcard from France, it went right on my farmgirl bulletin board, it is very cute and I was all excited to get it.
Yes Frannie does some really nice crafts thats for sure, maybe if you can find something laying around your Mom's house to give for Christmas you can keep the acorns that Frannie made you. HA.
Glad your back on the site, and have a happy pansies day.

I am a little slow on the uptake here (actually, there are sooo many great "chats" it's hard to get through them all...) but I had to tell you, Fran, that your scrap crafts are BEAUTIFUL!!!! Do you sell your darling acorns? I am looking for something special for my mom (okay, and for me..) and I would absolutely love a few!

you girls are too sweet to me. when i win the lottery i am just gonna craft and send everyon weekly packages just because.
in the meantime, yes i do sell the acorns, i ask 10.00 for three and then in addition there i the dreaded s/h. i think it usually runs about 7.50-8.50 so if you send me your zipcode by email ican give you an exact amount.
if you order more than three i think the s/h is the same but i dont quite know how that works yet.
i was so glad to hear from nance, i am glad she is having a good stateside visit, but i have missed her presence here at the site.
i have started to worry a little too about aunt jenny cause i havent caught any post from her and worried she might be under the weather, so glad to see your post jenny.
well, i have to go finish my swap packaging.
thanks again for all the sweet farmgirl response, and susan let me know if you want any acorns and what colors you prefer i will see what i have.

Hey again, gals! I missed you guys too, so you know I couldn't stay away (read: keep my two cents to myself) from the farm. It is a little less convenient, since I have to go across the street to use my girlfriend's computer, but the exercise is good, ha. Nancy Jo, glad the postcard made it there safely and in good time, too. I won't have to dig through my parents' home to find stuff to give as gifts, so that I can keep Fran's handiwork all to myself. I am currently weeding through pottery, books, etc., in closets and up in the attic, to have a yard sale in the near future!!

As far as the now-famous pin Frannie thought she left on the pincushion, she was obviously wide awake and "with it" when she finished the cushion because in its place is a cute little pink button! And thanks to sunshine for explaining barkcloth, too! Now I have to ask, what is kettle cloth??? Also, in France I lunged into a yarn shop while sightseeing in Montpellier (left hubby and his granddaughter on the street in the dust!) and inside I found a selection of yarn actually made out of bamboo!! It is so soft, and was in all sorts of cool colors. Amazing, all the uses for everything God put here for us to discover! Better go for now. Everybody have a terrific day! Nance

Fran- I have wanted to tell you how sweet all your crafts are for some time. How cute and clever, I love seeing your new pics and what you are up to. I might just need some of those pincushions myself for Christmas gifts (and me!) My email from mJF is only receiving (I can't send?) so if you email me I will place an order. Have a great week!
PS...Nance having temporarily fled France- Glad your luggage caught up to you and that you are enjoying the trip home. Keep us posted, I enjoy your sense of humor!

with a happy heart

I just love reading this thread - you all are so talented and encouraging, and, Frannie, you should have that pin immortalized in a collage!!!

thanks again for all the post. i am so silly when this thread dies out for a few days i really miss it, then i just go back and re-read some of the old post like its the first time i ever read them.
so i am happy to report i am working on three orders, nancy jo yours is first! i havent forgotten, i hope you havent.
anywho, i have 4 free days ahead of me,and should be able to get those all filled.
then i am going to try to start on some new items that have been rattlin around in my head.
i guess this is also a good time to let you all know how much i really appreciate my farmgirl friends.
crafting has become so special for me and i think all of yalls encouragement has really made that happen.
i do want to make money at this, i do want to create wonderful things and i do want to encourage others who also love their farms, homes farmilies/heheh.
so with that in mind, i do want to say, if you want an item that you see on my sight and you just cant get it in the budget, i can barter.....no you cant....sorry that was the beloved dh in the background. yes i can.
anywho thanks again for all the encouragement, as soon as the fall swap has been mailed out i will post those pics so you can see what i sent out. and some of the new items i'm gonna start on next week.

yes, nancy jo, i am on a break from your domestic goddess, or in your case farmgirls angel apron.
all i have left to do on it is the tie strings around the waist. yea!
thanks so much for your patiencs.
you know sunshine, last night about 3:00 am i got on the blogspot and tried again to post pics. it finally did it but it put them on the blog for sept. 19, instead of the right date, go figure, but at least it is posting pics again.
how are you liking the etsy?
my daughter keeps encouraging me to do an etsy site, but i dont have a credit card and i am very hardheaded about that, she says i need to grow up and get in the 21st century, oh well that is a different story, anyway let me know if you like that sight, i might try that as a goal this winter....or not.
what i really want to do is about 4 craft shows a year, and then also sell out of a little cabin that we drug out here on the farm and the other cabin is to rent out on weekends.
i have started working on the one house and setting it up to sell some of my garage sale treasures and thought i would put in my crafts and just have a little shop, also would like to get some of my pin cushions into some of the local quilt shops if i can but i havent been able to get enough of a back log going cause my farmgirl friends have been buying them
thats by no means a complaint i think selling my crafts to yall is my favorite way to sell them.
i do love going to and participating in an occassional craft show, i used to do that with my dad a few times when i was just a youngster, and i have a great crafting friend who makes wonderfully crafted textile crafts and she has really done some very interesting craft shows.
well its back to the sewing machine for me.
talk to you gals later.
