yes, i am just inching my way into the cyberworld. i dont really know what i am doing, and sometimes it seems to me that it just takes so long but i get some clothes from the dryer and fold them, etc while i am waiting. my computer takes a long time to post pics. well, i just woke up from my post dental nap, about 3 hours and i feel so much better, but guess i will need to get some work done now. love, fran

Oh, Frannie, the suspense is KILLING me! It's like finding out where your mom hid the Christmas presents, and she is outside busy at the clothesline with a ton-o-wash to hang!!!!!! Now I have to try to busy myself so I won't be tempted to peek at the blog! Can hardly wait to get back to Norfolk!! Patience is a virtue, patience is a virtue..... Nance |

effie and bell, i love it, its perfect. i think effie should have her own thread. the adventures of effie and bell. i wish you could post pics of her. it is really easy once you figure it out, but i thought i was gonna pull my hair out when i was figuring it out. it is time consuming too, but i think that is just my computer, cause its reeeeaaaalllll sllllloooowwwwwww loading things up. my kids tell me its cause we have dial up instead of ...oh i cant remember, but whatever it is we dont have it. thats the bad news, the good news is nobody wants to get on the computer here, when they come for a visit and we are forced to do other things, like visit or putz around the farm. i forgot to ask you, does effie like to go garage saleing? love, fran

yes, thats it, thanks sunshine. we can get it here, but its tied in to cable or something and you have to be at a higher level than we are on with the cable, i think last time i checked we would have to pay about 100/month for it(including the cable service). too much money for the farmfolks here. when i had my heart attack i had to start working part time, then it was discovered that i really had undiagnosed thyroid disease, i had a thyroid storm which is no fun at all. anywho i had to retire to the world of farm-girl/omie ,ihave really never been busier as anyone knows who stays at home for their work, but the pay is not as good as in the working world. my dh is very supportive about having a stay at home wife, sometimes he works 3 jobs to make the old ends meet, but he doesnt complain, hes related to daniel boone, and i suspect he'd rather be out there amongst them than at home on the range. his whole family is like that, they are all "boone brothers" as they call it.

yes, thanks nancy jo, i checked out effie on sunshines site when she was posted. she is too cute, but her new outfit by sunshine really makes her outstanding! i loved everything sunshine made for her, too amazing. but when she added the shoes that was just too much, they are so cute. let' take a minute here and brag on sunshine. you know i love crafts and have a variety of crafts that i do(and master of none). but sunshines work is truly art. i have always loved fine crochet and tatting etc. but have been at the mercy of finding things i could use and working around them. sunshine sent me some edgings and they were so beautiful, and beautifully done. just little treasures. now i just have them out for inspiration, i dont think i can bear to use them just yet. i remember when i first checked out her thread and saw all the things she did and i was just blown away. but when i saw her work in person, it was even better than the pics showed. the "stitches" were so uniform and tiny. i had aunts on my dads side (the last aunt alive is now 90) and i remember seeing this kind of work in progress as a kid. i tried years ago to do filet crochet i think it was called, cause i so loved the victorian type pillow edgings.....well you cant imagine what i bundle of knots i ended up with! i guess thats one reason why i am so intrigued with sunshines work....how does she do it? i guess its talent and work. i hope you and effie and bell have a good day,and weekend. dont let effie go riding with bell in her new outfit!

FRANNIE I think you are right about Sunshines work, it would be and is considered art. Effie and Bell are fine, they seem to stay where I put them, who knows what they get up to at night when we are all sleeping, But as far as I can tell they are very well behaved. Went to a garage sale this morning, got a real pretty fall wreath for the front porch for two dollars, and a cute little doll with button legs and a homespun dress, and tiny button neckless. very cute, put her in my sewing room on the shelf next to my six rather large jars of buttons. My daughter and I are going in the morning if its not raining. The one I went to today I just happen to drive by on my way to the post office. So will let you all know how I do tomorrow. Oh yea, also got a half apron and a brown crock bowl today. Have a nice weekend and keep making all those pretties that you do! NANCY JO |

well, every month in the closest burg, bonham, we have a trade days. not HUGE like the canton trade days, 2 hours away, but a respectable small town trade days in the fair grounds. its kinda famous for having the worst weather of the month! anywho, all the locals, all 9,000 of us usually use that weekend to also have our garage sales and estate sales. this is the weekend, and the weather is good, and i had to get out early the other day, to run an errand.....so i went to an estate sale!!!!!!!!!!!!! had a ball, scored a green matte lamp kinda mccoy looking, a haeger vase with the paper sticked, a big glass jar(to put my garage sale money in) and some small twig, and rattan furniture(doll size) and a small porcelain doll>(i dont think she is old) grand total=6.50. its hard to keep 'un down on the farm after they've been garage salein' dont ya think?

I'm always amazed at the depth of Sunshine's knowledge and how generous she is to share it with us. And how she takes time to encourage everyone else. I don't know how she has time to do all this beautiful work and have a lovely family and be such a positive force on these forums. Does she sleep at all?

Yep not much sleep to bed between 12:00 midnight and 3 am up between 4 and 7:30 sometimes earlier. This is very weird I still feel like a fly on the wall. I am wondering how Mary Jane likes being a fly on the wall ( I am sure she feels it alot) it is rather a unique feeling. I hope you are all having a lovely day. sunshine

just enjoy, sunshine, you've earned the praise, girl! i think your work is so beautiful and it just demonstrates your talents, and the skill that you have worked hard to achieve. also i think i in a world full of "supermarts", and you know who im talking about, those of us who love beautiful items that are artfully crafted are starving for artist like you to come along. so sunshine, be a fly on the wall, and just enjoy the praise, it is just your turn to shine. oh yea, and thanks to mj who developed this forum where we farmgirls can support one another with encouragement, bartering and buyin and sellin to one another. i for one am pretty isolated where i am and i dont really have the support of alot of other women, and then some of the women i meet just dont "get" the ditties that i like to make, so i love when i meet other women here that love the home life and trying to make the world a more beautiful place to live.

journals in process, some of them are not finished yet, they dont have closures on them. a new pin cushion. in the journal shot there is a photo cover. for all you gals who make floor cloths, the process is the same. you simply prep the canvas as if for a floor cloth, then feed it through the printer, this parts tricky, but i'll be happy to share the secrets to success. then print, paint and seal and you have a journal cover thats personalized with your very own photos.
