I'm with you Erin. I still have some catching up to do around the house. But when I'm done- I have an apron waiting to be cut out!! I can't wait. It's my incentive to get this house cleaned up ASAP!!

I just finished this apron last night:

It's for my sister-in-law-to-be (wedding is next Saturday, we leave tomorrow!). I just got an invitation to her bridal shower and to my horror, it was a lingerie shower invitation! I had already started making this apron for her so I decided that...well...couldn't an apron be lingerie? I mean, I'm not saying she has to wear anything underneath! :)

Thanks again to all of the wonderful Farmgirls who helped me out in my "how does my sewing machine work?" post. After lots of seam-ripping and tension adjusting, I finally got it right! (Just don't look very closely at this photo...)

I'm working on Christmas presents. I thought hand monogramed pillow cases for my three (grown) kids would be nice this year so I bought beautiful 600 count cases (for $12 at Linens 'n things with a coupon, heh heh) and have been deciding on the right pattern. I'm hoping they'll be heirlooms. I'm also embroidering towels with Tuscan farm scenes, and working on an Art Nouveau cat Christmas X-stitch that I've been working on annually for about 6 years. Maybe this year I'll get it done!

Catherine in Minnesota -- I just love those prints you chose! Aprons can be lingerie -- especially when cooking a great meal is a kind of seduction, hee hee.

Patricia - I love the idea of the hand monogrammed pillowcases. May have to copy your idea for my sisters' gifties this year. Are you doing white on white?

I know, aren't they fun? I couldn't resist. I was at Joann's buying fabric for something else when a woman had these prints at the cutting table. I just about flipped, I loved them so much! I didn't have a project in mind so I went home, not allowing myself to buy yardage (it was tough!). But then the idea for an apron (actually two, there is another bride in September) hit me in the middle of the night and I ran back the next day. 'Course, I went back 15 minutes before closing time and couldn't find the bolts anywhere. Have you ever asked fabric store employees to help you find a particular bolt of fabric just before closing on a Friday night ("it's really distinctive, I swear, it's a big, mod, floral print...")? Luckily, they were in good spirits and there were a couple who were willing to run around the store with me! Fun!

(Glad you agree on the lingerie thing, I was a little unsure about my "stretch" but am not about to go out and buy something from Victoria's Secret for my new sister-in-law! I'm far too practical for that.) :)

Hi girls, I'm a quilter so I am always piecing, sewing, quilting and also make pillow cases! I also make little strawberry emery's for your pins and needles. I love reading what everyone makes, and like to know if they sell them. I'm always looking for nice handmade gifts to share too!

Thanks, gloria g. Richards, TX

I just finished a quick cow costume for youngest daughter to wear to an animal theme birthday party today..they are supposed to come dressed as their favorite animal.
I am starting a quilt for my older daughter, who turns 12 Sept 21. She has decided she wants a qult for her birthday and her ears peirced..I have to hurry on that quilt! I have been doing some embroidery on a pillow and not long ago finished a penny rug table runner for the coffee table in the living room too.
Here is a pic of Erin in her silly cow costume.

I am not sure yet....if she dosn't wear it on Halloween I think one of the other kids probably will. Older daughter thought it was pretty fun too.

I don't think it is Amy Butler fabric but I'm quickly learning that that's my favorite type of fabric! I think lovejanet uses Amy Butler for her bags. Too, too cool.

Jenny, you are going to make Mona jealous!! That oufit doesn't resemble her a bit!! It is "udderly" adorable though...you should have Erin stand by Mona's side and take a picture together!!

I LOVE AMY BUTLER FABIC TOO!! Anyone see her home in Country Living? It's adorable too of course.

I am working on finishing my Dad's lighthouse quilt...this is the third birthday in a row he got a part of it...first year he got pieced blocks, last year quilted segments, this year I am determined he will get the qwhole quilt!

Then must start on pink ballet quilt for oldest grandaughter and Monkey Quilt for youngest.

Catherine, Way To GO!!! You did well. Jenny, what a great cow... love the udders.

I'm just starting the quilting on a quilt which for the first time ever didn't baste together adequately; the backing had rippled, so today I was crawling around on the carpet re-basting, and got to sit and quilt just a little bit afterward. I like the "hand-done" quilting, and don't use marking whenever possible..... so life is an adventure.

Has anyone basted together a bed size quilt on wooden floors? I tried and failed--too slippery. DH tried to help, too....

There is a Redeemer.

Hi all,
Catherine, love the apron - a girl can never have too many aprons (or teacups, or chickens - I've had to stop on them, no more room in the henhouse, or books or too many other things to mention!)
Jenny, the cow costume is adorable. I love making costumes - I have a fantastic book brought out by a woman's magazine here of kids costumes. I made my oldest daughter a bat costume one Halloween and I love it. It has heaps in it if anyone ever needs ideas.
Ann, how can you baste on wooden floors - my knees hurt on carpet?! My friend who had all wooden floors just used to come to my house to baste - anyone you know willing to have you take up their carpeted floor for a day?
I am a craft addict - unfortunately I am also a UFO addict - anyone else have these hiding in their house?
Currently working on a baby quilt for my sister's first little girl - lots of scrap fabrics with pictures so she can look for the cow, the star, the dog, etc. Also a cross stitch for my little boy's second birthday of Thomas the Tank Engine - do you get those books and TV shows over there - they are English. And a knitted cardigan for me - only the collar to do, so it may not be far off completion.
That is what I currently have out of hiding! To do these, I have put away three other quilts that I am working on and a cross stitch Lavender and Lace angel (not for presents so it always takes longer to do something for yourself). I also love lace knitting - any knitting on those tiny needles - I have made knitted beaded miniature bags and tassels - they are lovely. Has anyone else made them? Happy crafting to all - I'm off to put a few more stitches on my cross stitch.
Best wishes and keep dreaming,
Jayne
