Heather has a good tutorial on making yo-yo's but she actually isn't in the group at MJF she is just a blog I like and has some good stuff on it. Make the smaller hole version of the yo-yo as that works best for most projects . Heathers yo-yo is 4 inches ours are a little bigger as we are all using a cd as a template I just wanted to make sure that everyone understood that.
So please read every thing in this thread ( so far two pages). If you haven't read all of this post read it if you still have questions post them here. Right now if you are signed up your project is tracing and cuting and sewing. Once we have a total you will be ahead of the game if you are all ready doing this. Then on Sept 15 mail them to me ( once we have compleate totals). When I get them I will sort them out and mail them back with your SASE ( self addressed stamped envelope)
Start making yp-yo's and wait till the end of Aug to see how many we have. My kids went overly happy tracing yo-yo's yesterday I think they have enough drawn and cut to have 30 people join the group plus they are all cut out. Think about this 3 in house have 4 fabric each = 12 fabrics X 9 people in swap = 108 yo- yo's need at the moment my kids drew and because they drew them I cut them we have about 400 yo-yo's cut at our house just a little over kill on my kids part. But they are having fun so I let them. all other houses are at 36 yo-yo's needed didn't want to confuse any one.
P.S It sounds like it is ok for my kids to join so in they are. Thank you they had me check the computer about 20 times to see if all of you responded. They will be happy to hear.
have a lovely day and may God bless you and keep you safe

It's OK with me to have the girls join in. I think it's great to have the next generation participate.

since the girls went so happy drawing yo-yo's yesterday and sewing today. I thought I would show you all the colors they picked. the blue ones are from the scrapes of the very first quilt I ever made. The orange are scrapes from a quilt I made for the man that gave me a full ride scholarship to BYU. So they sort of picked fabrics I wouldn't have but it made them happy so realize you are getting fabrics that are between 10 years old and 25 years old. I hope this is ok. They are not jem tones like I like but perfect for an exchange of a little of everything. Better photo on blog of actual colors prior to being yo-yo's. This photo is a little dark.

I'm Mommom...new to this kind of thing...I've figured out how to make yoyo's...just need to know what kind of material to get and if I'm signed up? Am I? If not, please sign me up today! e-mail address: susanbonham@yahoo.com. Thanks |

Mommom, 1. Quilt quality fabric is what you want. 2. You also want it in four colors. 3. You need a needle and thread. 4. You also need a cd. 5. You will need one envelope to mail things to me in and 1 envelope that is a sase ( self addressed stamped envelope) which will be inside the first with the yo-yos when mailed. This second envelope is for me to mail the new yoyos back to you
I hope this cleared it up for you thanks for asking. yes you are in
have a lovely day and may God bless you and keep you safe

Hi Sunshine. Would you add me to the list? I have a bag of yo-yos already made that I think are the right size. Sharing them would be wonderful!!
