Hi Farmgirls! It's that time of the year to start thinking about our campout. It will be at my farm (Whisper Winds Arabians) and it will be on the weekend of Oct.14th-16th. I thought this year and from here on out I will keep it on the 3rd weekend of Oct. We will also be starting out this year with a theme for the first time and this year will be Bees. We did a swap at the last campout and it was great so anything homemade you would like to swap (Bee theme) put in a paper bag and we will pick numbers like we did last time. This worked out great. I am going to try and get our local bee people to come out for a visit. Anyone have any other suggestions just shoot me a email and if you would like more info email me and I will try and get back with you asap. Tents and RVS welcome! Not sure about campfires yet as we are under a severe drought but no problems we will get the food figured out. I will also contact our local food pantry and see if they need anything this year. I am sure with the economy they will. Can't wait to see everyone again. I had a wonderful time last year and am looking forward to seeing everyone again and if you are new to the Sisterhood I am looking forward to meeting you. Hugs! Jennifer

Hi Jennifer, I had to look on a map to see where you are located and that is doable for me for a weekend camping trip. Sounds like fun and hopefully it will be cooler in October. I will probably be tenting it, unless we break down and buy the camper we have been talking about between now and then. Do hubbies ever come to the campout? mine might want to come along and then take off on his own adventures during the day.

What fun this would be to finally meet some farmgirls! I'm about 2 hours away. I hope I will be able to make it. I'm subscribing to the thread for any updates. And yes, I'm hoping to be "official" by then. ;-)

For those that don't know, Sabrina (SobyN) is my daughter and she is due with my third grandchild(first boy) on the weekend of the campout. The reason that I can attend the campout is that they live in Georgia and so I wont be rushing off to see the baby until a couple of weeks after he is born. So, unless he comes 2 weeks early, the campout will be a great distraction while we wait.

SylviaE, last year I was planning to come and my hubby was going to come along too. It ended up we had a schedule conflict but if we get to come this year, you hubby and mine might could go off and "play" together while we play at Jennifers farm! Mine likes bookstores, thrift or resale stores, anything to do with history, and of course eating places! LOL!

Sounds like fun, but you are about 6 hours from me in OK. I will keep watch.

Jennifer, it looks like I cannot make it. NOBODY is more disappointed than me! It was so much fun last year. Had a real family feel to it. There is a family reunion in my part of the world and family members are coming from both east and west coasts. I am not putting on the event but I do need to attend and take my mom who is 90 this year. I will so miss going to your campout though.

I'm excited that it's open for hubbies to come....Is any hubby actually coming? I'm trying so hard to use my farmgirlish charm and wiles to persuade my hubby to come. So far, it hasn't worked. He says he doesn't want to sit around listening to all farmgirls laugh and cackle like hens. I told him there would be other cranky roosters for him to sit with.
Blessings, Catherine

Hi Ladies, I thought this year we would try a different food pantry in our community and they are running a toy drive for Christmas. So instead of bringing the items like last year I ask if you could please bring one or some of the requested items if possible. (Not a requirement)
Toys ages 14 and under, mostly 3 - 10 years of age though. Suggestions, trucks, dolls, tea sets, stuffed animals, dvds. Needing clothes boy/girl birth to 2 years. Also could use wrapping paper and scotch tape.
Also we will be doing a homemade swap which is alot of fun. Just make something homemade you like to do and put it in a brown paper bag and we will put them all on the table and then draw numbers and go in order. This really worked well last year and was a lot of fun. Make sure if it is something you sell put a note or business card in with the item. Someone may want to purchase something more from you later.
Can't wait only one month away! Farmgirl Hugs!
