Ok, so I already know how to crochet, I'm looking at doing the crochet badge. In my list of "to do" projects that I need to do SOON I want to make my daughter's some crocheted doll accessories and crocheted food. Where would these fit on the beginner, intermediate, expert scale? (Some will be harder than others, do I just use my judgement?). And if I make these can I count the total hours I work on the projects towards the badge even if ONE particular item doesn't take 20 hours (for intermediate for example)? If the whole "doll wardrobe" takes 20 hours can that count? Or if the whole basket of food takes 50 can that count for advanced? I'm asking because this project is intended for their birthdays (September) and Christmas so I HAVE to focus on these right now :). Thanks!!

You have to do the badges in order, so maybe start with just one piece of the food, maybe the doll clothes can be intermediate, and the whole basket of food for expert?

Oh I know it has to be in order...I've just finished a dishrag and am doing a striped one now so I figure one of those would count for beginner :)-so pretty much done with that part. That's why I was specifically asking about intermediate and expert and if those items can count....and if I can add up the total time for several items to meet the requirement....I figure the doll stuff would mostly be "intermediate" type stuff (fancy scarves, hats, stockings, blankets etc) and the food since its basically amigurumi (but food instead of animals) would be more in the expert level.

Hi Sabrina,

My name is Chelsea and I help MaryJane with the Merit Badges here at the farm. It sounds like you are working hard! As long as your projects meet the time requirement and somewhat increase in difficulty, there is no problem with crocheting multiple items that are part of one project and using that project for the merit badge. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
