Jonni, I roasted my winner in the fireplace. Does that count as orgional? I had never heard of Cincin chili until I saw it on the cooking show, America't test kitchen. No one around here has ever heard of it.

Tonight I am fixing Southwest lentil soup. I never did get my biscuits and gravy or my sourkraut and winners that I planned to have back at the beginning of this topic. All my planning ahead does no good most times.

I am also still thinking about Dutch letters from Pella. Talking to my daughter a while ago, she said her favorite is puff pillows.

That does, Belle! Good show! I like my dogs roasted over the fire MUCH better, anyway :) They steam them here, in Cincy. I had heard that America's Test Kitchen did a show on Cincy chili--really interesting. It's like Goetta--outside of the tri-state area, most people don't have any idea what Goetta or Cincinnati Style Chili are...And, most folks don't like it, so I'm glad it was a hit with you, all the way out in Kansas!

Your lentil soup sounds good, especially on a bone chilling day like we're having. I have NO idea what we're having tonight--I used my "get out of jail free" card last night and made spaghetti (getting home at 7:00 from work, picking up the baby, driving in snow) leaves little desire to be creative with supper!!!

Last night (Tuesday) it was this oh-so-awesome and easy recipe from Jamie Oliver that, as my husband said, is going to be the "go to" weeknight fish recipe.

http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/fish-recipes/delicious-roasted-white-fish-wrapped-in

I also served it with boiled Klamath Falls pearl potatoes and it was the best meal--simple, good for you and fabulously tasty.

Tonight, it was going to be pot roast, but now my husband has to work so it's going to be...frozen pizza?

That sounds yummy except for the lima beans-just not a big fan! Don't know what to make yet?!? It has to be something fast because I have to go show my son & fiance' how to bathe the new grand baby! That will be fun!

Tonight we're having Sliders (the little burgers) and baked steak fries. My hubby swears these sliders taste just like a White Castle burger, but I've never had one so I'll have to take his word for it. These are a house favorite. The little "buns" for the sliders are too cute, and they are really just hot dog buns cut in thirds.
Perhaps biscuits and gravy tomorrow. I'll have to look up the Cincinatti chili too, I love chili!

Today is Kylee's 17th birthday and I made Mushroom and Crab casserole. I used Orzo for the pasta in the casserole and it is/was super good. MB

The man and I are doing a movie & pizza night with homemade pizza. I haven't decided if we're doing sausage pizza or proscuitto and carmelized onion.

Last night he cooked since I had dance class. He made panfried catfish and doctored up dilled redskin potatoes.

Tammy, I vote for proscuitto and carmelized onion. The Pioneer Woman's Leek, Bacon and Goat cheese pizza is rockin', too, if you like those kinds of flavors.

I think it's going to be a Newman's own frozen pizza night and a salad for us. I BLEW my diet today with that steak hoagy I ate, with the buttered, salted garlic bun, but darn it, I've been eating well for 4 weeks now, and sometimes, you just need a fix :)

I could not find the recipe-maybe I just read it somewhere?!? So I decided on meat loaf & broccoli. In the wintertime I like to fix oven meals because it helps to warm up the house! Now I have to figure out todays supper.

Tonight we had pan seared chicken breast stuffed with proscuitto and a locally made organic herbed Chevre, with a white wine reduction, oven roasted asparagus, and wild rice that a friend sent me from Minnesota.

My two year old, who decided on fish sticks, simply doesn't know what she's missing when momma cooks!!!

Jonni - that sounds awesome. I never tried proscuitto until last year and now I'm addicted to it LOL Proscuitto and carmelized onion pizza with goat cheese is one of my favorites.

Last night we had corn beef, red potatoes, cabbage, and carrots that I made in the pressure cooker. Got to love pressure cookers - 40 minutes and the corn beef was falling apart tender.

Tonight we're having baked bbq chicken, parmesian noodles, and green beans.

It's a yummy thing to get addicted to, Tammy! I've always liked it, but our stores never carried much option other than the "packaged" kind, but of late, we've had some better markets open and I'm able to get better quality specialty proscuitto hand sliced. I also love it with carmelized onion and goat cheese on pizza.

One of my favorite recipes to use it in, and I think I posted it before, is from Jamie Oliver. I don't know if you like fish, or not, but basically, it's a white fish (haddock, whiting, cod, something meaty and white) wrapped in 3 rashers of proscuitto. The fish is simply seasoned with lemon zest, fresh finely chopped rosemary and pepper, rubbed on prior to wrapping in proscuitto. The proscuitto adds the salt. Pan sear for 2 minutes then finish in the oven for 12-15. Serve with steamed asparagus, tossed in the oil of the fish after finishing, and topped with a lemon mayonnaise sauce. Out of this world--especially for proscuitto lovers :)

I'd love to get a pressure cooker--my mom just ordered one from QVC in a 2 person size. Very cool. My husband would LOVE that meal!!!!

I don't know what we're having tonight--probably some rice and chicken dish with some stir fried veggies I need to use up :)
