With the new moon coming up, are there any special things that go along with it? Like yall said on a full moon you can put things out to charge them with it's energy. Just curious. Love my new calendar so I can just look up and know the moon phase!

Blessings....

We should do some sort of exchanges for the sabbats.

Here are some moon sites I frequent:

Now and again I celebrate a Dark Moon ritual....but only when it strikes me. It is never anything I plan out ahead of time.

I'm in on the sabbat exchanges if anyone is game. Just let me know and I follow it online. We are at a 2% waning crescent right now, nothing buy the wee-est of a sliver right now.

OK, how many of us are there? Should we buddy up or if the group is small enough, send everyone something (card, herbs, etc.)?

I like the idea of a tool like herbs, not something concrete so to speak, like a wand. I think items like that should be found objects. Maybe if we can write a simple spell for our buddy, or the group whichever route we decide and include the necessary tools like the herbs and candles. A spell for garden growth, or a spell for animal health or a spell for seeking out tools we need like wands or BOS's or whatever...

That's what I was thinking of Tasha. Partially because if we have a small enough group, we can send something to everyone. I like the idea of it being created by each other.

BUT I do have a question and I am going to direct it to Tasha and Kathy as our resident experts. I understand the concept of your tools being found objects or "coming to you". But then again, as with everythign else, so much has become commercialized.

Wouldn't certain tools, for example made specifically as a gift for a particular person, work just as well? It seems it would have similar energy (and just as strong) if it was made for someone with friendship and/or love and guidance.

Or is this a gray area or am I over thinking it?

As ya'll know, I'm more of the cottage type, so......I'll start gathering my cottage blessings to send to all of my friends. I had better start now. Please, each of you let me know what your favorite color is! Or something about you, so I can design something just for you! *g*

Oooo this will be fun.

Oh, Kathy (and anyone else.....I finally posted a current photo, taken today as a matter of fact...on my blog. I wanted to get a photo of myself the day before I start my last year in my 40's!)

Kim - I feel that if you make something for someone that you would be making it and charging it with good intensions - an example would be when I think of a blessing for someone or even the deer in my woods, I picture them within a circle of bright white light for protection.

When something speaks to me and I pick it up and keep it, I usually place it on my altar or someplace where I will see it often. I have done this with bird feathers, stones, a tiny egg from my chicken coup, a piece of tree bark covered with moss. My special wand (which is just a plain piece of branch from a tree) I found on my bench in the woods as if someone had placed it there for me to find.

Have you a Book of Shadows?

Just to clarify, as Tasha brought it up, this is a think it up exchange. I asked for a little more information just in case anyone wanted to "customize" anything for anyone.

If you all want to take that part out of the picture, it is totally cool!

Thanks for bringing it up Tasha!! :) I didn't even think about that part.

I got my copy of Sister Moon Lodge in the mail today as well as Georgann's sweet apron. It looks very interesting, I can hardly wait to get my nose in it.
