Tasha I saw that on the web site and had that idea too. I'll be pouring over those calendars for hours lol.

Ok girls, what do you do to bring good luck to your kitchen? I've seen some lil kitchen witches that are supposed to bring good luck. I had a bit of bad luck this evening, had a 9x13 glass dish fall off the counter and shatter on the floor. And I had already had my sweeping done before dark!

Tasha that was sweet how Grace drew her name. How old is she? I saw that you said she wrote that in her book of shadows. What is one of those?

Blessings....

Grace will be 5 in May and has been writing her name for well over a year now. I am very proud of her.

A Book of Shadows is your book where you keep your spells, rituals, recipes, invocations, etc. I have two, one of them belongs to us as a familya nd the other is solely mine. Grace has hers and mostly draws in it, but now and agin you will see her writing in her own little language a spell or something. She has a remarkable memory too and can direct you exactly to which spell is which!

That is awesome. She is well ahead of most kids her age. My birthday is in May too. Thanks for explaining the book of shadows and entertaining all of my questions.

Question: I have a set of Yellow Citrine and Purple Amethyst Jewlery (necklace and earrings). I would like to release the negative vibes I believe they may possess. They were given to me by my ex and we ended on negative terms.

Looking for help in a way to purify these so I can wear them again.
Thanks girls!
Blessed Be!

Kim there are several ways to cleanse your gemstones of negative energy - you can set them out in the moonlight (sunlight can harm some gemstones such as amethyst) (you could do it under a waxing moon to be rid of the negative energy and then recharge with positive energy under a waxing or full moon), or you can put them in a solution of seasalt and water or you can use a smudge stick such as sage and pass them through the smoke.

Thanks Kathy! I do have smudge stick at home, that I have not used yet.

A lot of times the moon signs into my living room window. Is there a certain amount of time? From moonrise to moonset?

I would first put the gemstones in a glass bowl with some seasalt mixed with water overnight to remove the negative energy, you can also then smudge them (was there a lot of negative vibes going on?) - then recharge them in the moonlight (waxing to full moon) of course, the night before the full moon, the night of, and the night after are the most powerful days so choose one of them, to me, I would choose the night of the full moon to recharge your gemstones with positive energy.

Th eonly problem I see with the sea salt is they are set in gold. Will this harm the gold? Or is it not enough seasalt to be concerned.

Yes there was a lot of negative engery. It was a very bad breakup and I was not treated with a lot of repsect in the relationship. He left me and was then annoyed when I would not take him back.

Let me check into this further for you before you put in seasalt and water - we sure know the moonlight won't hurt them.

Thank you Kathy. It would be a same not to use the jewelry, especially the yellow citrine as my birthstone is Topaz. But I just don't want any negative energy, memories etc, while I wear them.

Will these also work for an emerald ring? I never thought about it before but the one my ex gave me must reek with bad negative energy.

Just came in from taking Chloe for her walk. It was magickal. The snow is glittery almost like the fake Christmas snow. I made the sign of the Goddess in the snow. I also plucked a dried branch of what almost looks like Babys Breath, a dried seed pod and a dried Queen Annes Lace. I thanked the Goddess' for my treasures and have added them to my alter.

Hoping a Book of Shadows finds me.

My moon time started yesterday. No biggie right? But right now I am feeling REALLY buggy! Edgy. UGH! I just can't shake it. Maybe it had to do with my call to the vet's office when they left a message I couldn't get my dog's medicine. I reordered it online and I just clicked at the only medicine I saw. Apparently, this wasn't the right one because they kept telling me they hadn't seen her for this since August. She was there last Friday! I finally said I need her epilepsy medicine refilled and they were like " Oh, well that's not what you indicated on your e-mail"

OK< I'm not a VET! I msut hae clicked the wrong button, but couldn't they have said, "Oh, you were here last Friday for her follow up for her seizures, is that what you mean?" Maybe I am just being overly sensitive.

My bright spot of the day, I got another copy of Sister Moon Lodge and it came today. DD took mine to PA with her, so I have been without it.

Sorry to vent here, but you all are my witchy-goddess buds!!

Kim, take a deep breath - no it is not just you I feel edgy too and have been feeling that way. I don't blame you for being annoyed at the vet's office, I have been feeling that way with my vets office too for some things. Does your dog take Phenobarb? I have a dog on phenobarb too and in fact called my drug store tonight to refill it - that is a coincidence huh? I think vets get over busy like drs and that is a lot of the problem but it is no excuse.
What is the Sister Lodge thing you are talking about, is it a book?
Big difference in your post from yesterday to today - you need a hot cup of Zhena's Gypsy Tea and a good book - The Way of the Green Witch by Arin Murphy-Hiscock and a hug.
HUG

Sister Moon Lodge is a book on women, their menses and goddess'. It's really good. Yes, Chloe is on phenobarb. She just started having seizures this month and had 10 in 24 hrs. It was very scary.

I'll have to look for that book, it sounds good. I just recently purchased Sabbats by Edain McCoy and Llewellyn's Magickal Almanac.

I've been napping and feel a little better.

Ahhh, thanks for the HUG Kathy, I can feel it!

Kim sorry about your doggie. My two little ShihTzu babies are well, but if they were seizuring I don't think I'd be able to think straight. I agree with you that that is what the professionals are for and they should always keep that in mind.

I have been reading Ellen Dugan's Cottage Witchery.....wonderful book!! I love Ellen Duggan's writing.
I'll look for the title you mentioned. I was looking at that book Sabbats the other day. Was wondering if it was a good one. Let us know how you like it.

Oh, and Kim and Sarah, I found this webpage on how to cleanse your jewelry. Scroll half way down the page for the instructions.

Take care and don'tcha just love Kathy's big hugs?

Thanks for the link Georgann! It's a keeper. You can get Sister Moon Lodge from Alibris Books. It's out of print.

Hey Kim,
I just ordered SML. Found it on Amazon used. Looks like a keeper too. I am past the monthly moon cycles, but I have two young daughters who I know will need the information in this book. I was reading reviews of it and wish I would have had information like this when I was young.

Thanks, oh, and I'm so excited for you....you lucky thing you. Send photos of you and your daughter in Tasha's beautiful skirts and congratulations on the coming marriage!!
