I just checked out Beverly Lewis series of Annies People. I checked out The Preachers Daughter, The Englisher, and The brethren. I read fast so this works best for me. I dont risk the second in the series not being there. They are Amish lifestyle stories.

Just finished (a one day read...a young adult book) Dirty Little Secrets..about a girl living with her mom who is a hoarder. It was pretty awful...it was hard to sleep last night when I finished it. I wasn't real happy with the end and there were some parts that will be stuck in my head a long long time. ugh.
I am back to reading the book I put down to read that one... The last little Blue Envelope. I like it alot. It is the sequel to 13 Little Blue Envelopes..very good.
Lea...I love those books..I have read them all.

I currently have two books going: one is a real thinker, "The Last Food of England" which I've posted about on this reading forum, and the other is called "Pug Hill" which is a more lighthearted book, fiction, about an art restorer who works at the Met, has terrible luck with men and whenever her world spirals out of control, she runs to Central Park to Pug Hill, where owners and their pug dogs hang out. It's delightful and just what I need to combat all the heavy, depressing news I read each day!

I also just finished A Dirty Life by Kristin Kimball this past weekend. I don't think I would have made it through her year (the rats alone would probably have had me heading out), but her year long account of a couple's struggles to setup a sustainable large scale CSA/farm was an enlightening and entertaining read.

I am re-reading "Little Heathens" a story about how they did things on an Iowa farm in the thirties. You will learn a lot. A very informational read. Bonnie (she leaves nothing out) Those of you who would like to homestead should read this book.

I'm currently reading Overachievers: The Secret Lives of Driven Kids and Boy's Life. I'm finding Boy's Life a little hard to get into though. Deborah, that book sounds good!

Meredith, I have heard of that site and I checked it out once too! I might start putting my books on there.
I'm going to start reading Reading Lolita in Tehran (I'm pretty sure that's the title!). I checked it for the summer from my school library, and I've been wanting to read it for a while. Has anyone else read it?

I just finished "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle" by Barbara Kingsolver - it was a recommendation in another post by one of you amazingly wonderful farmgirls. It has completely changed my thinking and I've learned a lot. I hope you'll all read it, too! :) Now I'm moving on to "The End of the Present World and the Mysteries of the Future Life" by Father Charles Arminjon... I am excited to get started - but not til bedtime! ;) Happy reading! Hugs - Nini

Oooh, Bonnie, now that I know Fried Green Tomatoes is a book, it's definitely going on my to-read list!
Just a question for everyone. Does anyone else here use goodreads? I use it, and I love it. I use it to find new books and they have giveaways, which exposes me to even more books!

I think Handle with Care is about her ONLY book I haven't read yet. I am sure I will soon. I have loved all her books. I think the first one I read was Plain Truth.
Thanks for the nice comments about my blog. I posted sheep shearing pics today.
