Hi Hannah, Glad you are feeling better!
Today I went with my two daughters and one granddaughter to Gold Rush Days in Dahlonega, GA - Walked, and walked and walked some more! It was a beautiful day for a girls day out! Got a few neat gifts too!
Hugs to everyone,

Put in my mile this morning. Had a messed up week last week. Had to miss two morning walks. Once to take the dog to the vet and the other to get the meeting room decorated for a MOPS meeting. So I am back on track this morning. I felt icky all weekend because I missed walking two mornings. Plus I am crampy today. But I did the mile.

Good for you, Amy! I'm glad you are back on track again. I know what you mean though. I feel bad if I miss a day. I hope the dog is ok. And that the cramps go away. Have a good day.

Ruth, that sounds like you had a great day with your family. That is alot of walking. The weather was beautiful yesterday. It's a bit overcast here today. But supposed to be in the high 70's. I went ahead and hung clothes. I hope they dry.

Yesterday, hubby got home. Then we got on the motorcycle and headed to Tn. My favorite craft fair was going n. Ketner's Mill. I love that place. Plus I wanted to get a gallon of sorghum. There is a family from Monterey, Tn. that makes it right there so it is very fresh. It is so good. I hope this will last awhile. Anyway, we had a very good time. Rode over 100 miles. My legs are a little sore today. We stopped to see my parents before going home. So I had a good time on the motorcycle and spending time with my husband.

We walked this morning. I was late getting there and the faster walkers were too far ahead. So I walked with Jenny. She owns most of the land back there where we walk. We had to stop a few times. There are a few homes way back off the road and the first place has horses. One of the was out. So she had to call and let them know. Then up ahead of us was a hunter. But the trees are starting to loose leaves and I am seeing alot of new stuff. I can't wait til they are all off. At the end of where we walk is where the hunters park. Then there is a trail that goes towards the mountain. Jenny said there's an old still and some other things back there. She said we'll walk back there when it gets a little colder and the snakes aren't around. Which she saw a dead snake on the trail this morning. These hot afternoons are drawing them back out I guess.

I got home and we started working on the water line that's been leaking since we put it in last spring. It's the new frost free water faucet that had the leak. So we are just going to not put a faucet there. I have the well right near that and I use that to water the animals back there. So that will hopefully solve that problem.

Anyway, that's too much talking. Ya'll have a great day and enjoy this weather while you can. Get out there and walk!

Kris

Dog is ok. Change of food. He is a stray and not use to regular dog food. So he got an upset stomach. Much better today.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hey ya'll. I have had quite a week. I am pooped right now. I found out why I am still so out of breath after walking for nearly 3 months now. I went to the doctor Wed. I have alot of fluid on me. I weighed 237 pounds Wed. My blood preasure was 150 over something at first. Then later 140. Had an EKG. That looked fine. Did blood work. So I am supposed to stay away from sodium. And raise my potassium. I am also taking Hawthorne for the heart. Potassium for the fluid. Green tea. No sugar whatsoever right now. No salt at all other than what is naturally in fresh veggies and meat. I am on a low carb-high protien diet for a few weeks to get this fluid off. I am constantly going to the bathroom. At least every 30 minutes. I have already lost 4 pounds since starting this Wed. evening. I have been really good and stayed on this.

I am also "working" now. My friend, who is 93, has about 7 weeks til she leaves for the VI Dec. 12th. The crazy lady that was living with her as her caregiver has been fired. So I am now in charge. There are 3 of us caring for her all week now. Well, it just started today since her daughter left. So I have all day (9-5) Friday and Monday. Then through the week I will be dropping in and taking her shopping and errands and helping with bills. There's 1 lady that will spend 6 nights and another spends 1 night. So I feel busy again. I love this lady. She is so sweet. I have known her for 25 years now. She's getting forgetful. She gets frantic and agitated easily now. But she's a sweet Southern lady.

So that's why I haven't been here in awhile. Ya'll have been busy here.

Amy, you are doing great! It sounds like you are really serious here. Keep it up.

Michele, you too! Good for you. You are on a roll.

Lisa, you can do it. I wish I could get motivated to do more. Maybe after I lose this weight.

Ruth, how's the classes going? That sounds like really good excercise.

I hope to walk tomorrow. I will miss walking with the ladies on Monday and Friday now. I'll have to make up on the rest of the week. Ya'll have a great weekend. It's going to be great here. In the high 70's!!! I'll take it.

Kris

HI Kris, What a blessing to be able to be a caregiver for such a sweet (most of the time) Southern Lady! Please take care of you too - ok???
The class was really good, but it is only one day a week - so I don't get much from it. I need to get a tape or something so I can do it some every day. It's very slow deliberate moves. It is supposed to be very good for you! One lady in our class is 86 and looks about 65!
Dave and I went to Dillsboro, NC today - the leaves are getting pretty up there!
Just walked around while we were out and about! Tomorrow is Bark in the Park, so will get some walking in at that! Working at the Harvest Sale Sunday after Church, fixing or serving food.
Enjoy our pretty weekend!
Hugs, Ruth

Ohh, Kris. I'm glad that you got answers from your doctor re: your health. Please take care. You work so hard & now helping your sweet lil ol' 95 yo lady friend. Sorry haven't been on for awhile. Usually just quick pop on. This week's been keeping me running.... errands (lol). Not much walking, but very active, all the same. My husband's been having a slight set back in health these last couple of days. Yes, he is seeing a pulmonary doctor, thankfully. It's been raining & cozy. May get the scarf on & go for a walk later today. It's been neat reading how many ladies are out there taking care of their health. Good to see Ruth back, too!

I am noticing my pants are looser. That is enough to get me going. I think that a shopping spree for clothes will be in order in the Spring. LOL

Yay, Amy!! Doesn't that feel so good? I am so proud of you. Keep it up. I wish we lived closer. We could go together. I hate clothes shopping. I have to be in the mood. Otherwise I could care less. Do you know about how much you have lost so far? Since I went on this low carb and no sweets or bread, I have lost about 6 pounds since Wed. But good grief, I am starving! I do not know how vegitarians live. They just do not satisfy me at all. I need some stinkin' bread loaded with peanut butter right now. This really is not fun at all. But I so want to lose weight and start feeling better. So I will keep going til I lose enough.

Jewel, it's so good to see you here. I'm so sorry your hubby is still having problems. I'm glad he's going to a specialist. Maybe they can figure out what's wrong with him. That's got to be so frustrating. Please let us know how it goes.

My daughter and her 3 girls came today. We went to my walking trail. They are so not outdoor people. It was a mess. We went about 1 1/2 miles I guess. And they are SO slow. They brought bags to get nature stuff though. Anyway, it was a very nice day.

Jewell, Hope they find what is causing your DH problems and get him all better real soon! It can be so discouraging to not feel good for a long time. Keeping ya'll in my prayers.
Kris, We spent the whole day outside - love it! Bark in the Park this morning with the three four legged kids, then yard sale, then we took a ride in the Cohutta Wilderness in the Thing - got some beautiful photos!
I'm about ready for bed - lots of exercise and beautiful fresh air today - love this Fall!
Hugs, Ruth

Don't really know. We don't have a scale. But my clothes are feeling looser.

I broke down and had a glazed donut this morning. But I am not getting worried about it. I enjoyed it. I don't have them often and thought of it as a treat. Back to walking tomorrow morning.

Have a wonderful day.

Went to Salmon this weekend for a little anniversary/hunting weekend. Hiked up to the hot springs and it was so difficult! I haven't been there in 15 years and I definitely can tell I've gotten older and fatter. My hubby tried to make me feel better by telling me it was a hard hike for him too. So I had a nice long walk on Friday, and sat on my butt road hunting and car exploring all day Saturday and Sunday, plus the 6 hour drive home. Oh well.

Wow, we sure had a storm this morning! Trees down all over the place. Schools opened several hours late due to no electric. I had to go way out of my way to get to Mrs. T this morning. And I slept through it! There had to have been tonadoes. It looked like it to me. Trees across the roads. A few on houses. Man, it was a mess. We sure needed the rain, but now all that came with it. The rest of the day was beautiful. And the wind blew most of the leaves off the trees too. Did anyone else get this storm? There were several thousand homes without power most of the day. We need underground electric lines.

I am walking tomorrow. I have not been since last week. I really feel the pounds flying off though. I have not eaten bread or sweets or fruit for SO long now. I am going to make whole wheat bread anyway because I can sure tell I haven't had that. And I need it right now. But I feel really healthy. I have not eaten so many good veggies in a long time.

SO ya'll are doing great! Michele, you have a great hubby! I am glad ya'll had a fun weekend.

Hugs to all!

8 pounds! I have lost 8 pounds in less than a week! I am SO happy! But I am also starving. I am fixing some broc and cheese soup. I have to have something tasty and good. I am also going to make some bread. I have to have some. I will be home for 2 days so I can make some good ole bread again.

I walked 3 miles this morning. Man was it hot and muggy. Yuck! And it still is. We are having storms all day and tornado watches too. It's just too hot for October.

Hi Kris, We had Lots of strong wind early yesterday morning - I didn't sleep through it -Barney Boy does not like bad weather, so he woke us up before it really started! We had a tree break and there was one down on Hwy 5 heading to Blue Ridge. We lost our power, but only long enough to mess up all the clocks in the house - grr!
I'm so proud of you loosing all that weight - keep it up girl!
When are you heading to my house???? We won't go to Meyer's when you come back, I promise!
Brittany's quilt is being quilted as we speak ! yea, then I'll have to put the binding on it and get it to her.
I went to Tia Chi this morning, but didn't walk, I'm not being very good about walking this week! Maybe tomorrow!
Tornado and severe thunder storm warnings out for tonight - not looking forward to that. Weather band radio keeps going off!
Stay safe and I'll talk to ya'll later.
Keep up the good work gals!
Hugs, Ruth

Hey Ruth. We had tornadoes here in Chattanooga today. Messed up alot of homes. More trees down. The storm just now stopped. It's just sprinkling a little now. Lots of people sent in pictures and videos of tornadoes all around us. One was right near me about 15 miles in Lafayette. The clouds were really crazy.

I would love to come back up in a few weeks. Yep, I think I need to stay away from that great big hunk of bread! It was really good though. I will let you know soon.

I'm glad ya'll are ok. This has been really scary here. Hopefully it's over.

Ya'll must be busy ladies these days. I hope all is well with everyone. I know there were lots of storms the past few days. I hope that those of you who lived where they were are ok. It was a huge storm. Over 2000 miles were affected by this. My hubby called just now and he is in Atlanta. Yesterday they had some of this bad weather with flooding downtown. He said they were stopped on the interstates. So I know it caused alot of damage all over the place.

It is feeling more like fall today here. The past few days it was just hot and muggy. But this morning was perfect walking weather. Just right. I got to push a stroller and that'a a whole different workout. I like it. So I have lost another pound. 10 pounds off so far!!!! I can feel it in my pants. I am going to take all my big ole fat clothes to the thrift store. I don't want them in the house. I'll have to wait though til I can afford to buy more. But this is great. I am really loving this. But it makes me so mad that all the time before this I didn't lose anything. I could have lost at least 25 pounds by now if I had just changed the way I was eating. If I had only just done that sooner. But it took a doctor to tell me. I need to lose 50 more pounds now. If I can get to 180 I will be happy. 160 would be even way better, but right now 180 looks really good to me.

Happy walking ya'll!

Kris

Way to go Kris! So proud of you girl. I have not been walking, have been busy running the roads too much and tomorrow is no different. Going to take Ashley to lunch tomorrow and get new shoes for the car on the way to Dahlonega. Then we have to go pick up the Thing, having the brake lights worked on, plus a couple of other issues! So I'll be in the car most of the day! But I will get some walking in while in Dahlonega with Ashley!
We faired well in the storm, praying everyone else did as well. It was a huge storm that affected so many people!
Hugs, Ruth
