Hey girls...been swamped at work today and just hopped on the forum for a break. Thank you all, so very much for keeping Violet in your thoughts. When I got home last night, she was sitting in the front yard with my dh and Elie, her lab/snackbuddy and was still pale and not very energized. She also seemed to break a fever, only to get hot again by 10:00 or so. Today is the second full day of antibiotics, so I'm hoping to see some marked improvement this evening. She did walk around a bit last night, but she's easily winded and unsteady on her feet, much to her chagrin. The medicine appears to make her very sleepy, though she had no trouble going to sleep at around 10:00 for the night. She whimpered a lot and kept grabbing her neck like it might be achy? I sure wish she could tell me...thank you all again for your concern and wishes.

We are going to a follow up visit tomorrow afternoon with her pediatrician and I'm hoping to have some answers to my laundry list of questions. This is much too stressful on this little girl!!!

***Janice, the last two docs she saw within the office were different docs, so I'm hoping to get some answers from her doctor, the one who "knows" her and advised us to go straight to the ER--I'll give you a call this evening or tomorrow night after the appointment**

Thank you, ever so much, Frannie, my "momma" in Texas. I am hoping for a happy smile when I get home and I know we will be on the mend, then. She didn't laugh much last night, and that's a sure sign she's down. Love to you all, in Texas, Frannie--those good wishes and hugs are felt more true today, than ever.
Love ya,
J

Hi, Jonni! How is Violet today? What did the doc say? I'll be out at the farm gardening today again. I got an answering machine for the phone in the trailer(but I leave the door open so I can hear if I'm close enough).

Hey Janice et al! Violet looks a LOT worse than I think she feels, now. She broke out in an extremely ugly rash all over her chest, back and neck yesterday (perfect timing for the fup visit to the doc) who felt that her high fever and this subsequent rash was Roseola...the rash comes after the fever breaks, which would be about right. Since it's viral, there's really nothing to do except wait it out...she's not contagious, that part is over, but poor little thing looks like she's been bitten by a million fleas. Her temp was normal, and she's eating again, and she's laughing. Our neighbor, Mary, bought her a Nick Jr. video called "At the Farm" and she carried it around, laughing at the cover for most of the night, so that's a boon!

I gave her a bath last night with oatmeal and put her in a nice, soft onsie made by "Halo" which is a totally breathable fabric and she slept...well, like a baby.

Thank you all for your good thoughts and your concerns for our little family. I know that, across the miles, your good wishes have helped this little one get back to usual happy self.

Love, The Lynch's...

I am glad she is feeling better. The Dr told us that fevers tend to get worse at night when the child gets tired. Nigels temp would shoot right up also.

Jonni,

I will keep you all in my prayers. I know how scary that can be! We went through a very scary period last year when my daughter was finally diagnosed with mesenteric lymphadenitis. A fancy way of saying swollen lymph glands in the abdomen. You are doing a great job! I know it is really tough sometimes, and don't ever hesitate to run to the ER if your 'mommy senses' tell you to!!! :0)
