I'm so...happy and here is the reason why..I recooked my dandelion jelly and I added another certo liquied into it. This time is did jell...Know I cann't wait to try it...and later I'm going out and pick some more dandelions and make up another patch. What a neat gift to give..Most of my family and friends never heard of it. SO it will be neat.
thanks again for sharing the recipe and so...happy it came out.

I am really excited about trying this so will be out picking and cutting petals and freezing them until I get enough and have a chance to cook them up.

Thank you Aunt Jenny for sharing the recipe! I made this last weekend, and I am absolutely blown away at people's responses to it. My 12 year old son picked the dandelions for me, but wrinkled his nose and said "that doesn't sound good"but after he ate it he said "This is the best jelly ever, can you make more?" My Grandmother had the same response, I took one jar to her house and it was gone in 30 min. Everyone had to try it and loved it.
I love to find a use for the "weeds" in my yard- we made dandelion pesto too, and have been eating the greens in our salads.

I am so glad it worked so well for you too Cherian! I need to get another batch made today. It is my kid's favorite for sure and I promised to send my mom in Calif. some. We have an especially big "crop" of dandelions this year. Not much else yet..we have had a late spring...so it is nice!

After reading this post, my 7 yr old son and I went on the hunt for dandelions. Wasn't to hard to find them in the yard! Loved the jelly!!!! Wasn't real sure it was going to set up, but by the next morning it was perfect. Tastes like honey with a tiny bit of citrus flavor. It's just beautiful to look at too! Thank you for posting this!

I want so badly to make this jelly and I don't have a single dandelion in my grass! I've always liked them and never bothered to get rid of them in the grass, thought they were kinda pretty and now...nothing. Figures.

Hubby and I were in the mountains yesterday and found a meadow that had tons of fluffy yellow dandelions. We picked them and now for the fun part. I'm going to give the last recipe a try. Sounds yummy hope mine turns out just as good.

I was sure I'd have enough dandelions in my yard to do this...went and picked them all and only got about 1 cup. So I called a friend I was sure wouldn't have sprayed her lawn with anything, and drove across town (it's a small town, fortunately) to pick dandelions! I realized I must be crazy as I passed yard after yard with dandelions all over, including some public areas, on the way to my friend's place. But it was nice to visit and my kids got to play with her grandkids. I'll be making dandelion jelly tomorrow! To spread on the bread I made today! Yum.

Jenny, I think I'm gonna have lots of dandelion syrup...but maybe it'll set more as it cools. I was thinking about rose petal jelly, too - got a recipe for that one? :-)

just the same as the dandelion..only use the rose petals. I use the pink wild roses in my front yard...very fragrant and a pretty color as jelly.

They don't bloom for long at all here..I have been trying to make as much jelly this week as I can, sadly next week the blooms will likely be all gone. I plan to make syrup too. (purposely..which isn't how I usually make syrup..haha)

LOL - yeah, I've got some dandelion syrup, myself. The current issue of Hobby Farm Home (July/August 2010) has a recipe for Cranberry Walnut Salad with Runny-jelly Dressing. Cracked me up when I saw that.

Yay! I have alot more dandelions suddenly in my yard again (hopefully means this awfully hot weather is going to tame down some) so I will be making more batches hopefully this week!
