Thank you my praying farmgirl friends!!
I'm off from caregiving duties today and tomorrow. My sister's hubby's daughter is also a caregiver so she will be there tomorrow cooking Thanksgiving dinner, etc. His sister and her family will also probably check in on them. I feel like I need to have the holiday with MY HUBBY and SON, JEREMY. We are giving Jeremy's caregiver (he has Down Syndrome and lives in a host home in town with a 24/7 caregiver) the weekend to spend with HER family.
Of course, our daughter will not be here . . . she lives in Phoenix and we usually don't get to have Thanksgiving with her. But we will have time at Christmas.
Anyway, thanks for your prayers and encouragements . . .
I too, will be thinking of all of you and yours.
HAVE A BLESSED THANKSGIVING!!!!
THANK YOU!!!
CJ

So far, so good . . . appears that all tests are showing my sister clear of infection. They should be leaving next Sunday, Dec. 6th for Denver for the consult and surgery to repair the misaligned socket for her hip replacement. It'll be good to get that over with.
I ask for prayers that systems will remain "GO" for them, that the surgery will go well, that they can get back home soon.
Then we will have rehab to go through . . get her back to some physical activity.
Today is kind of a hard day . . . she just does not want to do anything and I'm exhausted already from the morning routine!!!!

THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS!!!!
CJ

Stay strong CeeJay. I know with my knee and caring for my parents, I am half a heart beat away from being depressed. I fight it so hard. We know that we are doing the right thing, and we will never be sorry for that.

Still praying for you and your sister. It will be good for both of you when she gets her hip fixed, she may want to do more and hopefully everything gets easier in time. Sending a huge hug too.

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.

Well . . . they left for Denver today. It's a 400 mile (one-way) drive from the SW corner of the state to the NE corner, over several major mountains passes to get from this side of the Rockies to the other side.
My sis has an appt. tomorrow at 2 PM at the orthopedic specialist office, surgery is still planned for Tuesday.
Pray for this whole situation to go as planned and that she will be READY for surgery, surgery will go WELL (she is a risk!) and post-op time will be SUPER and SHORT. Her hubby wants to be headed back home by the weekend. She does NOT like to be away from home.

Pray for me as far as my employment as her caregiver goes. I will lose hours and income this week, as the program that pays caregivers does not have ANY paid time off for anything.

The good part is that I have some time off and I AM looking forward to a few extra days to do Christmasy stuff!!

THANKS FOR YOUR CONTINUED PRAYERS!!!!!
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!
CJ

My sister's appt. with orthopedic specialist went good today and they spent a lot of time at the hosp. getting tests done. There is still some question about a bit of infection somewhere, but source is unknown. The surgery is planned for tomorrow afternoon . . . her hubby says that they TOLD him to have her there at noon for surgery at 2 PM. But the paperwork he has says come in at 2 PM for surgery at 4:30. I hope he finds out for sure!!!

So, please, PLEASE . . . PLEASE pray for this surgery! It's just not "cut and dried" . . . and whatever is showing an elevation in one factor of her blood work. It makes one nervous!!!!

THANKS SO-O-O-O-O-O MUCH for your prayers!!!
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!

Thank you my praying farmgirl friends!!!!

We are getting slammed as far as the weather is concerned. Snowed all day yesterday and then about 3 AM the wind started . . . it is a blizzard. Good thing we had no plans for going anyplace!! I just pray our electricity stays on . . . and, at the very least, the wind stops!!!

THANK YOU AGAIN!!!
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!

Hey Diane . . . you can have some storm. We got over a foot of snow and some mighty wind to blow it around and make it harder to deal with. I shoveled part of the way on the path to the drive and then dug out both of our vehicles . . then took my dog on a 4 mile walk!!

We do need the snow, most especially in the mountains so that we can have our water supply during summer and fall!! We DO like to see snow still on the mountains in June . . . that means it'll last us till fall.
COLD, COLD, COLD!!
STAY WARM!

My brother-in-law called last night about 6:30. My sister went through the surgery very well, it took less than 2 hours (he had been told it could take about 4 hrs.) so that meant a lot less time under anesthesia. No apparent infection and the surgeon was very positive about all of it. Of course, Joe (her hubby) is much encouraged . . .as are all of us.
THANKS FOR PRAYING HER THROUGH THE SURGERY!!!!

Please continue to pray for her as she heals, for their 400 mile trip home, for rehab and for her to get back to some activity!!! Getting her to do physical therapy exercises can sometimes be a very, very difficult endeavor!!

THANKS AGAIN, FOR YOUR PRAYERS!!!!
CJ
