Hubby's a grad of UK and our retirement home is NE of Bowling Green. What a beautiful spot to retire to.

Rural Northwest Arkansas. I live in a new log home, we just moved in last summer. It is beautiful, we built on the same spot the old house was that my parents lived in. When we tore the old house down we were able to keep the root cellar in tact that my dad built 30 yrs ago. Our house is near the community of Osage pop. about 20. We are 25 miles from the nearest town with shopping, about 45 miles from Branson MO. I lived for a few years in Chewelah WA. north of Spokane. It is nice to see so many from that part of WA on here. I was born in Northern CA and lived there a few years. This is home now, back to the little farm and lots of loving work. |

Granite Falls, Washington State. Even though we are only 1 hour NE Seattle (if there is no traffic), we are far enough away to see all the star light at night and have bobcats and bears as our neighbors. 2nd home in the mtns above Tonasket.
I love Chewelah!

I am having the greatest time reading where everyone lives. It is amazing. Even though I live in Deer Park, my folks had a 480 acre farm 6 miles north of Chewelah. Dad bought it when I was 7 years old, and it is there that I learned to drive a Ferguson tractor, tie bales on an old 2 man wire tie hay baylor etc. My Dad died there in 1984 while walking back to the truck during a bad snow storm. Mom sold the farm a year later.

Hi, I live on SW Virginia. Lots of farm country here. I grew up in NYS. Small town on the Lake between Syracuse and Rochester. Lots and lots of orchards and farms. I love when I go home and see all of the big, beautiful barns. Like in a picture. |

I know this forum is about farm living, but unfortunately, I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where large praries and forests are far and few between. But Milwaukee is beautiful in other ways. We have lots of wonderful restaurants, and the living near Lake Michigan has its benefits. God's Blessings, Megan

Leia, I am so glad that you shared right here with your first post. Just jump right in. You will find many new friends from all over who are caring and have a lot in common with you. I live just north of Spokane, Washington, next door to you, but I don't know where Middleton is, so I am going to go look it up. It sounds as though you are a busy ldy!!!

Megan-I'm from Milwaukee, WI too! We're not so far removed from the farm. Lots all around the edges of the city, but it breaks my heart when I see farmland sold and developed into McMansions or condos!! My sister is a dairy farmer just outside the city in Mequon.
Wendy-Amen! Go Pack Go!! Lovin' Aaron Rodgers and not missin' the annual "tractor-watch"!

I am right in the middle of Oregon, in a beautiful town called Bend. We live about 5 miles "out of town" on acreage and that is just perfect for me.
While my mind is at work, my heart is back home on the farm. |
