He is actually doing better this afternoon. Has been using this nifty electric ice pak device that was loaned to us on his knee and it has helped a lot.
Tomorrow, goes for 2 days postop check . . .

Arn't those ice things wonderful????? I LOVE mine even now 6 weeks postop. After physical therapy I get home and go straight for the ice thing.
It does get easier..but he will have good and bad days for awhile. I will sure keep praying ..I know how he feels right now.

Thanks Aunt Jenny . . . I was also thinking of you and wondering how you are doing now!!! The ice pack thing worked REALLY WELL for him.
Off to PT eval, wound and drsg check in a bit and then to talk to the $$$ guy at the hosp. (I'm dreading this!!!)

In a moment of frustration I'm wondering where is the FAMILY support!! I realize this is not a terribly life-threatening situation but it IS a trauma to Bill's system, it is an adjustment to our lives for a few days.
Bill has one brother and his mother . . . have NOT HEARD ONE WORD from them! That bothers me!!
Of the 5 siblings I have (sister with brain injury who can't respond) only ONE of them has asked about him and how he's doing!!
What's with that?
Sorry, but I just had to vent!!!

I am glad to hear that things went well and am praying for the Lord's provision and continued healing for Bill. Also praying for his family, that's disappointing that they haven't asked.

Well, the meeting got postponed . . .AGAIN!! This is the 2nd time this guy has "called in sick" to work and they've called to reschedule. Rather aggravating!!! So, that still has to happen.
Bill had PT appt. today for 2nd post-up f/u to do wound check, dressing change and start PT program. I talked to them yesterday about this, explaining that we did not have the funds to do the twice weekly routine, etc., etc. So, therapist did all the above, gave us a written home program and told us that would be good, but to call if necessary. Thank the Lord for that!!!

That is wonderfulm that the Physical therapist was so helpful. That stinks that the financial guy cancelled again!! It is really hard to make yourself do the PT exercises but it sure does make it go easier and quicker if you do. I can really tell on the days that I didn't do much on my exercises at home! I will keep praying.

This therapist is the same one that used to do PT with my sister (for whom I'm caregived) so she knows me . . . told my hubby "well, she's a good therapist and will keep you on track". Back to work this morning for me and as I was leaving I said to Bill, "now you do everything you are supposed to today!!!" I'll be checking on him too!!! :)

Bill is doing good!!!! YAY!!!!
Doing his PT exercises like he is supposed to, more and more mobile and pain free. Praise the Lord!!!
Rescheduled meeting with $$$ person at hosp. set for tomorrow morning. Hoping and praying he doesn't cancel again (has done it twice) so we can get on with this and know what we have to plan for.

So good to hear that he is doing so well!!! I am loving my new knee now that I am healing up! It sure takes longer than I want it to, but gosh it is sure worth it. It already feels better than before the surgery most of the time now.

FINALLY had our $$$ meeting this morning. However, it was interesting how it went because the guy we were supposed to meet with and who has canceled on us more than once was "running late" and we ended up meeting with a gal. I believe that the Lord orchestrated this because He knew we needed to meet with someone who cared!!! We DO qualify for "Self-Pay" discounts . . . she said just barely. So, we are looking at a significant reduction in the final bill for the hosp. We were also able to discuss issues with this "guy" with the new supervisor and discovered we weren't the only ones who were having difficulties. Changes are going to happen and hopefully, for the betterment of that department and how customers/patients are treated. So, we praise the Lord for working here!!!
And, Bill continues to get better and better . . . and we praise the Lord for that as well.
Even with the discounts we will still have to come up with money for what we do have to pay . . . so pray for that provision!!!

Thanks for your prayers for Bill!! Had his stitches out today, he has been being a VERY GOOD BOY with doing his therapy and is doing VERY, VERY WELL!!!!! Praise the Lord! He told the orthopedic surgeon that he is GLAD he made the decision to have this done. He has noticed very significant changes since the surgery.
AND, we qualified for the "Self-Pay Discount Program" at the hospital which means the bill is signficantly reduced!! PRAISE THE LORD for that too!!
After working for a medical supply/oxygen company I've learned that if you have insurance they will bill, then see what they get . . . and then there may be discounts, etc. It's all very interesting.
When he his pre-admission lab work the receptionist told me that if we paid cash up front it was only $35. If they had to bill us it would be THREE TIMES THAT MUCH!!!! Hm-m-m-m!!!
Anyway . . . the hosp. bill is significantly reduced but we still have to come up with money . .

Well, Bill is doing VERY, VERY WELL . . . pain from before surgery gone!! Just getting back into shape from the surgery, etc.
We have qualified for Self-Pay discount program at the hosp. but cannot set that balance up on payments. We have until January 16th to pay it all!!!
So, please continue to pray for the funds to come together. Tough time to do this with Christmas coming. However, God knows and He is faithful!!!
