What size bags are you looking for? The big grocery bags or the smaller lunch bags?

the big grocery ones!
Just imagine my surprise to get an email from my dear Corrine with my NEW NEIGHBOR on the maven list! Offering up a big Maven welcome to the newbies and a special neighborly wave to June right up the road from me. June and I spoke on the phone... nice to talk to someone that's NOT long distance and we have soooo much in common! WELCOME!

Wow!! It has been so busy and I haven't had a chance to check in.
Welcome to all the new mavens ~ How exciting we are really growing here.
Dawn~Does it matter if the bags have grocery store logos on them? I have some I can send you.
My seedlings are doing amazing. I hope they continue to do this well. I can't wait to be able to get my seedlings outside. It's been rainy and dreary here for days. I want some sun.
Teresa Sue~that new group sounds great.
I hope you are all doing well.

Good morning Mavens,
Sorry I've been awol, the Hubbs had his hand surgery last Thur and I've been busy taking care of him. Yesterday was nice here and we're supposed to have at least two more nice days. I'm trying not to get too excited in case in SNOWS AGAIN, lol. I worked on quilt blocks yesterday and in the later afternoon I worked in my raspberry patch. All the heavy snows has mashed the canes down and it is a mess. I'm going to work at the cemetery today and tomarrow, more if the weather is decent this week. I have sooooooo many downed branches up there......
Well, any day y'all should start recieving your Maven badge patterns in the mail. Originally I was going to transfer all of them on muslin and send them to you, but we just have too many Mavens to do that now. In fact, since I've sent them out, (which was Fri) we have added three more Mavens. Would any of you marvelous techie Mavens be able to take the design and put it in the henhouse so any new Mavens could just download it?????? I would do it, but I don't have the equipment or the knowledge to do so, Please, Please, Please, with jam on top???
Just take your pattern, tape it to a window, lay your muslin on top of it and draw the pattern. Embroider it with embroidery floss. Just like the badges we get from MJ. You can embellish it with buttons, or beads, or whatever you want. I think I might pink the edges of mine just to make it different from the regular badges.
Here's your quotes, about three days worth, lol:
"For me, elegance is not to pass unnoticed but to get to the very soul of what one is". CHRISTIAN LACROIX
"Undoubtedly, we become what we envisage". CLAUDE M. BRISTOL
"Adornment is never anything but a reflection of the self". COCO CHANEL

MY chapter members are coming over this morning to work on a chapter journal project and hopefully we can plant these 100 plus walla walla onion sets. Our garden project is begging us to get on with it, weather is holding us back.... We are expecting colder weather again, then a great warming trend after that, Why does Mother Nature torture us gardener so? Daylin sorry I missed your Birthday, Hope it was a happy day for you, Welcome all new mavens, Dawn the Spring fling is going to be fabulous I am sure.. You are all probably receiving your invites to Spring Fling. I didn't want anyone to be left out even tho I know many of you will not be able to make the trip. :o/
Perhaps you can scrap a page with them or something. Not much going on here. Today is one of those days where I have to remind myself how lucky i am to have a job. Ugh. Being in customer service is a trying, trying, profession. Right now I just want to tell people where to go, how to get there and how long they can stay! Not very nice of me for sure. But at this moment, I'm having a hard time caring!
Okay, back to chickens for me. 2 1/2 more years of this nonsense and when child support is paid in full..... I'm outta here. Have a good Monday!

Morning Mavens - it is another beautiful day here so I won't be on the computer after right now. I did a bunch of weed-clearing yesterday - my weeds are the size of small trees so it feels like I'm really homesteading or something. Today I'm going to plant sweet peas, do more weeding and dig my first double-dug bed to see how long it takes me. If I do one a day I think I will have the timing right, hopefully I'm not being overly optimistic. Might cut some quilt pieces too, I have to be quiet in the house because DH is working on a remodel job and has to work nights this week. Hoping that ends soon, when you vary your schedule that much it seems like all you have time for is working and sleeping. Hope to hear from y'all soon!! Amy Grace

Good morning Mavens
Cheryl, hope you are feeling better.
Hope your week is going *GREAT*, not just great, but Tony the Tiger GREAT! LOL!
Beautiful day here yesterday, another one to come today. I got lots of work done at the cemetery, boy was I tired when I came home, hubbs bbq'd, yes it was that warm, I did the dishes and was in bed at 6:30, lol, probably why I was awake at the crack of dawn, lol. After a couple of weeks I get used to all the physical work from the cemetery and then I can go to bed at a normal time, lol, it's h**l getting old, ha!
Rc'd your Sping Fling card yesterday Dawn, those are toooooo coooool, lol. Wish I could be there. Hey did you get a guest book for everyone to sign? You should if you haven't already, it could be the base to a customer list.
Anyone of you interested in trying to take me up on posting the Maven badge so the new Mavens can access it?????????
Here's your quote of the day:
"With color, for the price of a pot of paint, people can express their own style and individuality. But, as with style, a gift for color has to be developed by experiment. If you don't dare, you are doomed to dullness". SHIRLEY CONRAN
Oh, Amy Grace when would be a good day for you and me to get together?

Teresa Sue - what is your work schedule? I can kind of work around stuff 'cause I have some "comp" hours built up. Gettin' antsy, we are going to rototill after all because I don't have the armstrength to be able to dig fast enough - next year I hope. Amy Grace

Hi everyone. I too have been busy. Been putting up a chicken coop and fence every chance we get, weather permitting. It's raining today so only got a little done. Just have the roof and front door to put on then the hens can move in. Dawn - I did receive your invite and was thinking how nice it would be in our journal. Wish I could afford to come and visit ya all. Saving up for the BBB. Teresa Sue - received my Mavens badge today so have been embroidering on it some. I made an apron for a new member of our chapter here in Klamath Falls. Did a little onion planting at Cheryl's house the other day and just waiting for our weather to stay nice to be able to plant our big garden. Welcome to all our new Mavens and I hope you all are having good weather for gardening.

This is the strangest weather we're having here. It snowed today and tonight it's supposed to be 32. I brought my tomato and swiss chard seedlings in. My apple trees are in bloom. My strawberries are all blooming, too. I covered up a raised bed that had swiss chard in it. It's just crazy. Then the rest of the week it's supposed to be in the 60's and 70's. I just can't figure all this out. Then to see that people in Wash. are tilling their gardens, it's just not fair! Mine is all mud. Pure mud. It's so depressing, especially when I have 75 lbs. of seed potatoes and 12 lbs of onions sprouting in my laundry room not in the ground yet. I'm sorry for whining, but I am getting a little anxious here. At least I don't have a garden full of things that will freeze.
T.S., thank you. I got mine, too. Now to figure out how to do it. I just started embroidering again. I was doing a little piece I had gotten the other day and Kansas, my 5 year old granddaughter saw me and wanted to do it, too. So I got a little piece of fabric and treaded a needle for her and drew some lines on it, put it in a small hoop and showed her the basic stitch. She loves it. She'll do a little and take a break then start some more. I can't get much done with helping her, but it's too cute. I've taken pictures. When she does it awhile I might try to find the ABC sampler for her to do.
And Dawn, I got the bumper sticker and notebook! Thanks.
Hope everyone stays warm. Kris
