Finally!!! I got it embroidered and finished!!

In keeping with my Scottish heritage, I used a tartan plaid edging that is very similar to the Armstrong Clan tartan.
The buttons have the Scottish Thistle (national flower of Scotland, believe it or not) embossed on them. And the lace "rosette" resembles the rosette of the Jacobites.

I really didn't want to sew it permanently onto anything so it's backed and has a pin on the back so I can pin it on anything. I can also use the stickpins I have that have the clan crests and little feathers on them . . . looks very Scottish!!!

Thanks for looking!
CJ

Just beautiful. I don't think I could get a badge, only because there is NO way I could sew the thing. LOL. I try to sew, but I have ten thumbs when it comes to sewing. LOL. Congrats.

Thanks girls!! I wish it wasn't so dark so you could see the details of the tartan and the buttons better. If I get a chance, I might try for a better pic.
THANKS AGAIN!!

Thanks girls . . .
Actually the top button has a Celtic knot on it and the bottom one has the Scottish thistle. It was fun!!!
Hats off to all you fellow Scottish descendants! Slainte!! (that's a Gaelic well-wish greeting!)

Hey that's pretty! BTW there are stores that sell the actual clan tartans. For the Irish/Welsh ladies, there's tartans for that too.

Hi Sherrie,
We have clan tartan stuff . . . fabric, scarves, blankets, neckties, etc., etc. Got it for my husband's clan and my clan . . . also on the lookout for other things. My hubby actually said he'd be interested in a "great kilt" which is the original kilt. We will be looking into tartan fabric that is lighter weight. . . and he like the Ancient version.
I just happened to have that tartan plaid binding so I decided to use it. It is sorta similiar.
THANKS!
