Annika, Thank you girl, it has certainly been a labor of love, although some days more labor than love ( if you know what I mean). I stopped the whole world today to get some merit badges submitted. My note book was getting so full I couldnt pack it around...
TS we have been getting a little of the rain which is great for us.. we didnt get the snow fall you all had, so we will take some of the moisture moving through.
I cant believe how quickly farmfair is approaching.. what fun!
I have even been finding a little time to play in the dirt.

Happy Birthday, Amanda!!
Busy here but it's good busy. My seedlings are struggling a little and I'm not sure what exactly is wrong. They are in my greenhouse and I have watered but not too much. Just hoping some survive. I am completely new to this and know that some won't make it~I just don't want to lose all of them. I spent hours out there recently~transplanting and adding fertilizer, etc.
Today it is nice and sunny here~I have laundry hanging outside for the first time this year.
I hope everyone had an awesome Easter.
I posted some pics on my blog of the crochet mesh bags I've been working on. I want to try to make some and sell. The best thing on my blog right now is the pics of my son's art work. He has started taking an art class and I am in love with his work. I know I'm biased but I think he has a gift~his other art teacher did say he does~she was great and then moved away~we were so sad but now he has a new teacher~she is great, too. Sorry to ramble. I am just so thrilled.
Annika~so good to hear from you. Sheep do look so much nicer without all that wool. That's alot of work. You are one busy girl. Miss ya.
Dawn~how are you? I hope you are feeling well. I think of you often.
Marcy Jo~Hi! feels like forever since I chatted with you here.
Teresa Sue, Alee, Corrine, Cheryl, Gail, Kelly~all the mavens~hello and hope you are all well. I wish I could remember everyone's name at once.
Amy Grace~any pics you can share of your trip to France? I would love to see them. Are you all settled in again?
Blessings, Ruth

Thank you, thank you, Kris for the zinna seed. I will treasure them as they came from your garden. I, on the other hand, did not have seed to give for the swap that was from my garden, alas, I had to send "boughten" seed. But I hope y'all enjoy it anyway! I did get those mailed out, btw, also, Dawn I mailed your bottles. Enjoy your day!

Hello Mavens A beautiful morning here and the temp is rising to near 65 today no rain & warmer tomorrow & by weekend 70's wahooooo! Trusk load of dirt coming Monday ( 74 degrees) supposedly and then I can spread that earthly soil gold on my garden & Plant. I am off today to get chick feed, & straw. Will go get my chicks fromGails probably tomorrow & put them up in the garage until I can intregrate them to the hen Studio..So much to do , so many plans for garden , yard & house.. Speaking to Gail this morning we are both on overload which makes us Crazy & we don't settle on one thing so we are doing very little. Next week is my Goal date to get Busy!& Produce Something worthwhile...

hi gals!
lol...sparkley day. I love it. It is so nice here today. I want it to stay this way forever!
We are in chicken overload here at the hatchery. However, I got the most unexpected surprse today. A customer called in to talk to the "famous Dawn". I asked why I was "famous" and she gave me a link to www.backyardchickens.com forum. I guess someone out there likes my style (customer service) and gave me kudos on that forum and there are 3 flippin pages of comments! Awww....shucks. Garsh......
Now I'm all shy!

I miss you all like somethin fierce. I can't wait til SF and BBB. Once that's done I'm gonna have friend withdrawls and I will need therapy!

HI Mavens! Well the garden is underway and I am glad because I just got called back to work!! Now I am going to have to get up real early to take care of the critters and home before work! Its been 5 months since I had to do that!! I was just getting used to the idea of being home all summer!! What a bummer!! So know that I am here and will check in as often as possible which might not be much because on top of all else I have an open house to plan!! It never ends!!
Have a great weekend!!

HI ladies!
Marcy: Glad you got called back to work!
Today has been a busy day for me. I mowed for the first time! I got ALL the flower beds weeded and mulched and now I just have to wait on the weather to even out so that we can plow/disk the gardens. Its still really wet here. I still dont have my potatos, broccoli, cauliflower etc in the ground yet. I'm panic-ing...a little!
I've been doing great. Working on spring fling stuff/crafts. I think I'm probably going over board but that is my nature. I started my second round of seed sowing last week and I already have sprouts. Trying to get herbs started as they seem to mature faster.
My new chicks are a week old. I haven't come up with any silly names (yet). But Lucy Egg-naz and Reba Quack-n-tyre say hello! I know, quack is a duck reference...I was stretching a bit on that name!
I am trying to be patient until JerrBear gets home. He's been milking all day and I'm bored. Its too nice to be in here on this computer, but I just wander around outside like I'm lost! lol!
Will check in with ya'll later.

Good morning Lovelies,
Hope everyone had a great weekend. We finally have had some decent weather! It's supposed to get all rainy by Thur/Fri, so I gotta make hay while the sun shines, lol.
I have a fairly large raspberry patch and boy, all the heavy snow we had really did a number on it. So I have been cleaning it out, almost done, hoping to finish it this week so I can work on my garden. Was great, the hubbs worked on the lawn(boring! If I had my way we would have no more lawn than what you could mow with a non-motorized lawn mower in ten minutes, lol) As it is, where we live the lawn is WAY too large for a lawn, but not quite big enough for a pasture.
The hubbs had his stitches out of his hand Fri, then we watched grandkids, brought the youngest granddaughter home, took her back home Sat., then went to grandson's soccer game, came home and did our comatose routine, lol. Yesterday we were able to work in the yard and bbq, it was great! I had my peas planted this time last year, jeesh.
We also went and looked at properties over in the Cheney area Sat. We found something we really liked, but whether it will still be available when we are ready to buy will be another thing.
Amy Grace Friday I'm heading to town, can I drop off your goodies on the way? Let me know.
Well off to do my house chores before I head out to the cemetery to work. Have a great day!

Teresa Sue - which town are you heading to? I will be working in Spokane from 6-2:30, too funny - I just posted about getting together over on the DOE. I think the palouse area mavens missed the window between too snowy to travel and too busy in the garden for the co-op get-together. That said I do have some flexibility in hours/schedule so let me know what your schedule is. Hope everyone has a great day - I am off to move a pile of compost once I am off the MJF forum. Amy Grace

TS: got the bottles yesterday. Every piece of em! just kidding. The blue one was smashed and the fig syrup one was slightly broke but the rest were all in perfect shape. They look great in my apothecary bathroom! The blue one I'm saving the big glass pieces just in case I decide to "tile" a table or something. I have some green glass that I found here on the farm that I will incorporate in with it.
NOt much happening here. Its official. I'm exactly ONE MONTH and TWO DAYS away from Spring Fling! and I STILL CANT GARDEN! I left some plants in the cold frame and they got zapped so I'm frnatcally trying to start over on a few varieties. I just dont understand how to use cold frames I suppose. I thought I cvould leave 'em in there and save room on my dining room table.
I'm off to chicken world now. The phones are SLOW today... makes for a LONG day. hope yours is a good one!
YAY! I finally got a badge! Only took since November! lol!
