WOW!!!! Brought tears to my eyes too and many memories of when mine were born. She is SO cute! And I love the picture of Dad's (?) finger and her holding on...that one is beautiful....that would win in a contest....it says so much. I love "the BIG cry"....it always made me feel that they were strong and letting the world know they were here and demanding their fair share! LOL! I wish I was your neighbor so I could visit her every day. You're very blessed and so is she! Thank you for taking the time to share...I never get to see little ones anymore but how I love to!

Thanks, girls...Dawn, I swear..two days after she was born I thought, "I could go through this pregnancy/delivery thing almost every week..." Now, we know that's the hormones talking, but I can understand what you mean by baby lust, now. I've never had it before her...now I can't imagine who I was the day before she was born. That there was ever anything more important to me.
Thanks, Kay...Violet's are my favorite flower, and in about 3 weeks, our lower back field will be full of them. We both loved the name, and ironically, her birthstone is purple, too (an amethyst).
Sandra, thank you--I'm so glad these made you happy...babies really ARE a joy, and I am amazed at how many people love little ones, truly love them. I agree with your ideas about the "big cry". She uses it everytime she gets her diaper changed, along with this "talk to the hand" motion!!! Already independent.
And, yep, that's Daddy's finger. Her Papa took the photo, and absolutely loves the textures and context. Of course, it makes mommy feel all gooey all over--her two favorite people caught so poignantly :) |

J- Those are great photos! Violet is beautiful! I love the "nudie" baby one because it looks like she was posing with her hand like that! How fun! I am so glad you have this wonderful little miracle!

Okay, I am really slow on the uptake, but I just realized that Violet is the child of Jonni! That makes it so much more wonderful! Jonni - we have missed you here, and so good to see that little one, and know that she is yours!

Thanks all...Alee, she is really full of personality (though I am sure most mothers say these things...so do forgive me :))...she uses her hands a LOT--in fact, when she came out, she was sucking her hand, and that's never stopped. I realized that in her gender ultrasound, each image had that hand up or near her mouth, so she's been self soothing for 9 months!
Yes, Jeannie, tis I...it's good to be back, and we are overjoyed with our little spring flower, for sure. |

Jonni, She is just beautiful. I know you will enjoy and savor every moment of newborn bliss. I see she shares a birthday month with me and her name is so sweet. Wonder if she'll be a shy little Violet? Thanks for sharing her with us through the photos.

Sweet Jonni - may she be a dancer as lovely as you. But whatever her talents, she will continue to be a beauty.

Girlfriend, your Violet is one wonderful baby and yes, she is already independent, but her mama and daddy are, so shouldn't she be....grin. I love the picture with fingers touching, gosh it makes me teary eyed, it is precious and how wonderful that you have that picture. Along with a zillion others I am sure. Something that you will always want is a camera right with you where you go. I am so glad that you are in awe and wonder of this blessed little one. Of coarse purple is here birthstone color....teeehhheehhheee Enjoy every moment of drinking her in.....thanks for sharing....you know we love pictures....grin

When ya'll were talking about hands, I just remembered my Abby when she was born. The first picture she had her hand in the peace sign. And she's my flower child! It was so cute.
