YAY Melanie, have fun!!
My simple joy: Being home and know I have found yet another new job, YIPPEE!! My previous one was never my fave, as y'all might know. My contract ended and I had found a new one the same day! I will start next month so now am a month off as well. OH I will be the mail person in my own sweet little village :) NO more travelling so early by bus, no more being home late because I missed a bus or a connection. ONLY good news :)
Hugs from Marian/Dutchy, a farmgirl from the Netherlands :)

I am heading to Ms. Amelia's for tea .... think Tasha Tuder and yes they live the lifestyle and wear the cloths of the late 1800's and early 1900's. It is my birthday tea. Tammyb #541 |

My simple joy today is that we were spared damage from the storms that came through here yesterday morning and again last night. My prayers go out to all who were affected.
Cherry-I believe that Stash Tea has a licorice tea. You can order online from them. They have lots of wonderful teas!

My simple joy today was my great nephew. He's in 1st grade and his family is going thru some tough times. He and his brother are staying on our farm until school is out. I picked him up from school this afternoon and in keeping with the tradition I had when my own son was in school, everyday I would ask "what was the best part of your day?" and then "what was the worse part of your day?". Little Landon immediately blurted out "Going outside was my best part." About 5 min later he excitedly said, "Oh Aunt Vicki, I think I want to change my best part" and he went on to tell me another good part of his day. This went on for almost an hour and finally ended with a Butterfly release his class had today. We just laughed and I said "sounds like you had a pretty good day" He giggled and said yeah I guess I did. I like it when so many things seem good in my day I have a hard time picking the best.

My simple joy is seeing how our dog engages people into playing with her
She loves people and a rousing game of fetch, almost to a fault.
I have to laugh every time the UPS or Fed Ex guys show up. The dog does running out and drops a ball beneath their door.
Better this than ultra aggressive---that's for sure! |

Anna, that is so cute! I hope the UPS or Fedex guys throws one with your dog once in awhile.
It is only 7:15 here, but the simple joy of sitting reading the paper with my hubby has already made my day.

My simple joy today was sitting out on the back deck with a magazine and peach iced tea, listening to the birds at the feeders.

My simple joy today was coming home to the farm after a very tiring day and 5 new baby ducks had hatched and were on their first outting on the pond with momma duck.

My simple joy is knowing the garden is ready for rain now. It's all mostly planted and ready to take off. I love to watch things growing. And to know that in a few months there will be a harvest and all will be worth the work that went into getting there.
And little new baby chicks!

My simple joys from yesterday are the following: watching my son learn how to drive with my dad. My son's grin from ear to ear made my heart sing.
watching a movie with my son. he is graduating in two weeks, and I know someday he will have his own life and watching a movie with him probably will be non existent, and I will miss that.
the last, but not least is proof that God provides, no matter how small or trivial your requests are. 1) our two days at the lake this weekend. I specifically prayed for No fighting (my friends-the owners of the cabin- bicker all of the time.) They didn't bicker at all, and we all had a great time!
2) I asked God for a pair of good quality black sandals. He not only found me one pair, but He showed me two pairs. (at the thrift) One pair of Born sandals to wear to work. And one pair of Doc Martens to wear around the house. Both pairs in mint condition, for thirteen bucks total.
I had a great weekend!
Don't miss out on a blessing, just because it isn't packaged the way you expected. ~MaryJo Copeland |

Kate, isn't it so awesome when God provides. Usually above and beyond what we could ever imagine. I remember praying for a pair of hiking boots as I was going to the thrift store. When I went to look at the shoes there were so many women there I thought, "oh no, if there was anything it will sure to be gone". My eyes then saw a pair of leather hiking boots. I picked them up, they were my size exactly and brand new for $5.00. They were a pair of Vasque and I looked them up online and they retail for $250.00! God is SO FAITHFUL! That was 5 years ago and they are still in awesome condition. (I wear them all the time)
Anyway :)
My simple joy today is...
Sleeping in!

Today my simple joy is helping out my dad, who has had life long challenges and disabilities from serving in the Vietnam War over 30+ years ago. In honor of Memorial day and all the sacerfices Americans make, to have the freedom we have, my family choose to use the day to make his living situation better.
I thank the Goddess I have the grace and will to forgive his misgivings and continue to respect and love him. I know he has done his best with what he has and is so sorry for all the pain he contributed in. May the Divine ease his guilt.
Blessings, h
