My simple pleasure for the day was taking a walk at dusk and smelling spring in the air( damp dirt & green plants), watching the sun go down behind the Rockies, and bumping into neighbors that I haven't seen all winter :) I love our little town !!!!!!

Mine was to spend Easter going to worship and spending the day with my family! Just seeing the sun for many days in a row was a blessing...

Knowing that my little one is safe at home with her daddy, and not strangers at a daycare on my first day back to work. Makes leaving a LITTLE easier, but not much :)

Is that I got to celebrate Resurrection Day yesterday and the rain held off until late last night.

Today it's that I rescued a baby bunny from the jaws of death (my dog). I got to it before he did, calmed it by gently petting it's little head, then I released it in a safer area of my yard.

Opening up our "Girls" (Rhode Island Reds) outside play area! To see them running around, scratching at the fresh dirt and grass was so heart warming [:-D] You could see the Joy in their eyes.

This sounds silly (or perhaps masochistic)but my simple joy today was running away from an angry rooster and tripping and scraping my finger on the side of the hen house, pounding my thumb trying (unsuccesfully) to contain two large, bad goats and then cutting my finger on the ring of my milk strainer as I was washing it. I look at my hands, bloodied and bruised and KNOW I did a day's work.

Pondering about having our whole family here for Easter. The last of my children left today for Oregon. Miss them all awful but grateful for the time we had together!

My simple joy was watching 2 baby bunnies frolic in my backyard. They were enjoying the morning sun and doing happy bunny flips and jumps. They reminded me that some of the most wonderful pleasures are the simple ones...being alive, having pure joy, and taking in the blessings of creation :)

I planted several beautiful strawberry plants that were carfully packed and shipped to me from a sweet gal on our forum who hales from Kentucky...I can't wait for that first taste of one of my very own home grown red, ripe strawberry!

That was my simple joy today...

I am 50 and learned last week to make homemade buttermilk biscuits. They turned out soooooo good and then made myself a homemade egg mcmuffin and that was even better. So I encourage all of you gals to make, learn, or do something new and enjoy.

My husband was up early with our girl and made breakfast. When I left to go to work, Violet was in her swing, watching her ducks and dh was doing dishes. Nice ebb and flow for the beginning of the week.

It is going to be 73 degrees here today! Such a treat! And I found a really great independent kids radio station online. No Barney to be heard here. Outboundmusic.com
