Sitting down after a long day of working on the farm/ranch, and having my Grandson leaning against me on one side, one of the dogs on the other, and a cat or two in my lap. It is total peace and serenity.

Feeling the warm sun on my face and having the perfect amount of breeze to bring the temperature to bearable.

My simple joy today was ordering an apron (made by one of our farmgirls, countrygrace) and knowing that we can share our talents with each other here in order to keep our farms and homes going.

My simple joy today was seeing an old childhood friend-seeing her happy, with a man that loves and respects her and her children. She had a lot of hard knocks when she was younger, and it is great to see her blossom and she is such a great Mom. My other simple joy today was hanging out with her, her family and our mutual "BFF" and her family. All the kids having a great time at the local carnival, parade and later watching the kids "blow the stink off" outside with water fights, water balloons and screwing around in general.
I am sunburnt, exhausted and sweaty, but it was soooo worth it!

My simple joy was being able to go fishing with a friend.
Was VERY peaceful until the house around us where a cop lives began target practicing. |

I know I say this each time, but nothing is better than my little girl waking up laughing out loud. What a way to start the day, and a VERY simple, but wonderful, joy for me.

Today my simple joy was being able to say "I love you" to my parents after having my dad in emergency and at the same time my mom in CCU after a heart attack. Family is so very important to me. And so is this sisterhood I've found. Tammyb chick #541 |

Today, going to church with my parents and then spending the day with my husband as well as talking to kids on phone and seeing one, who stopped by to see Dad. Rae

Today I cut fresh lavender and put it in with a couple of my favorite roses. I can feel my heart opening when I just look at the beautiful flowers on the table and in the outdoor kitchen.
What are you grateful for? |

My simple joy was watering my garden, feeding my critters, riding in the middle of the hay field, brushing my horses and getting my every day call from my very sweet and only daughter in law saying hi mom, happy monday!

My joy today was sitting in the hamock swing watching my hens "hunt" for breakfast and listening to them cluck to each other.

When I pulled into the drive at work, thinking how I would much rather be home doing farm girl things, I saw a little bunny eating grass close to the brush next to the driveway. He was just sitting their, quietly munching in the shade. It made me smile.

Today it was watching two granddaughters play in the sprinkler, on a blue tarp with two big plastic bins and lots of toys. They spent almost two hours having cool wet fun, and I think it was better than if I had a swimming pool. I sat on the back porch in a big rocker with a bottle of water. Afterwards, we had our usual popcorn and juice. Simple joys are the best!
