Jackie,

What a sweet and thoughtful man you have. Hubbies are great. I love to hear stories like that.

You farmgirls are right! My hubby is a sweetie, he sat all morning in the gyn's office waiting on me and then took me to the fabric store before we headed home. He thought the fabric store would help me 'unwind' after dreading the doc appointment so bad. Boy, I hated to go and I'd been pretty cranky about it too!

Catherine, your generosity is amazing! Thanks again, you're probably the reason I got that cool birthday present!

Life is good!

might I be able to get on the list? I have been looking at the sourdough recipe in the MJ book and keep wanting to get started on something like it.

Ohhhh I don't think I can join now but could I take a rain check for say two to three years?? I think it is wonderful you are willing to share such a neat thing and I hope to hear more about the yummie loaves from those that get some starter( I love "living" joy through others!!)! I had a neighbor when I was seven that used to share potato sour dough bread all the time with us. She loved my mothers homemade canned apple sauce and apricot puree so she would trade often with us and I LOVED her bread warm and with butter! YUMMMM!

PS Jackie, that is so neat!! Tell me how you like it cuz I have been eyeing one! Enjoy yours!!!!

Oh, Catherine! You have been so hard at work sending out starter! I've enjoyed reading this thread!

Would you be so kind as to add me to your list. I'm emailing my info after I run out and feed the bunnies....before it gets dark.

I have a six year old flour starter so this will be an additional treat for a different taste in bread.

I thought I had added my name to your list, but I don't see it, if you would be so kind. I would love to have some, and I would gladly send money for packaging and shipping! Please, please, please! I had a starter years ago, but with so many (husband job moves) I have been without. Please feel free to email anytime.

Thank you,

We had a starter like this when I was a kid, Amish friendship bread it was called. Someone gave it to my mom, but honestly she is lazy and doesn't care and it went bad and she threw it out.

If it's not too late, I wouldl ove to get on this list!! I can send you $ for shipping when it comes time to send to me!!

You are awesome for doing this! So sweet of you!

Hey Gals,

Please forgive me.....I checked out on life and just stopped everything. I feel awful that I have let all y'all down. I am getting back on track now and will get the starters going again. I'll post later with further details on the mailings.

Blessings
Catherine

Can you put me at the bottom of the list again. I used and used that starter and loved and then I finally killed it. I am so ashamed!!! I will send you something in trade. I am so sad to not have it anymore. I must keep some in the fridge and some out this time. I think it just got too hot and I didn't use it for a few days too many. Wonderful stuff!!! No hurry though...everyone who you have on your list first needs to try it for sure first. You are a doll to be doing this for everyone! I hope things are better for you now!

Catherine, I would love to be included on your list only if you let me know how much it costs to ship so that I can reimburse you for that. How nice of you to share something so special. I hope that everything is going better for you now, we all need to take time out at some point.

Thank you,

Well, procrastination does cause problems.....

I had about 12 dehydrated sourdough starters that were wrapped, addressed and ready to be sent. Then, I quit on life for a bit and the envelopes sat. Now that I'm back in the land of the living I feel so ashamed that I never sent them.

I was about to just drop them in the mail when I thought that perhaps I better check them. So, I opened the envelopes.....I opened the little baggies of starter powder....I found little buggies in there..... I SCREAMED! After examining everything closely, it seems that some type of moth ate little holes in the envelopes and baggies and then created a new life for themselves and their new families. ICK!!

So, tomorrow I begin dehydrating again and promptly sending them. I'll post the names of those being sent and when.

BLESSINGS!!
