I see so many of us from the Bluegrass State I would love to know where everyone is located. I have to live vicariously through most of you as my hubby refuses to buy an old house and we have no acreage right now...but we are looking and I am choosing the house we build. ;)

I am in Louisville but right on the edge near Oldham County and we most likely will be moving into Oldham within a year. I have 4 boys so if anyone ever needs chaos at their farm I can bring it!

Hi Louisville Mom--
I am a Kentucky girl, born and bred. Currently in the northern part of the state, just south of Covington. We live in a small cottage, with a large lot, raised organic vege beds, lots of pets and a soon-to-be real "human" baby in February ;)

Miss Bee Haven is in Louisville proper--you should make her take you thrifting--MAN does that girl have a good eye, and her antique booth is worth a look as well. VERY good eye, indeed.

There are many of us on the forum, that's for sure. You need to come to Miss Wilma's in Knob Lick--she's not far from you at all!

Kathryn,

I live in East Central Kentucky in a very small community called Waco, just east of Richmond. There are several gatherings of Kentucky farmgirls around the state during the year, maybe you can come to the next one. Hope to get to meet with you!

I would love to. I wanted to go to the last one out in Green County but I was going to visit my sisters in Cleveland that weekend. I love reading all the blogs as well!

Hi Kathryn,

I'm a Kentucky raised farm girl who is at the moment transplanted in southwest Indiana. I do spend most weekends at my farm which is located in western Kentucky...really close to Kentucky and Barkley Lake. I just attended my first get together last weekend at Miss Wilma's Open House. It was great fun meeting everyone there. I can't wait for the next get together. Miss Wilma is so sweet...I wish I could adopt her and move her closer to me and Mr. Sterling too.

Hi there Kathryn...I'm just down the road over in Versailles. We just had a gathering over a Wilma's in October that was a hoot of a time. Oh, I forgot, they met up during her open house a couple of weekends ago but I wasn't able to go. :( A fun bunch of gals I must say.

Oldham Co is a great place to live. Can't wait to hear your adventures of building a house! :)

I will just have to pack up the kiddos and do a KY tour or leave the kids at home so I can go junking and antiquing.

Hi, Kathryn! I posted in my old house thread that I'd be happy to take you to see my old house in the spring. We live in Louisville, but the 23 acres and the money pit are located in Irvington, KY. And when you want to go thrifting, let me know. We'll take a day(or two) and tour around Louisville and Indiana(my dh is the Director of the New Albany animal shelter, and we've found lots of cool thift store just over the bridge).

I think Ft. Knox...and maybe Ft. Dix is still in existence, but definitely the larger of the two, and more active is Ft. Knox. Yep, Miss Wilma's is a hop, skip and a jump--that'd be cool!

Hey, Heather! Fort Knox is only about 20 minutes from my farm in Irvington, KY. And there's a small but nifty Salvation Army not far outside the base housing. And a very good Chinese buffet I like, too. ;) Come on down!!! :D

I've heard of it...but I've never been, so I'm not sure if there is still an active base there or no. Maybe?
